PFSN's Kyle Soppe loves the Bo Nix-Sean Payton marriage, but wonders if it can make a similar jump the Baltimore Ravens took under offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
'In Year 1 of the Sean Payton/Bo Nix marriage, the Denver Broncos' Offense+ ranking moved up seven spots and improved their numerical grade by 10.8 points," Soppe wrote for PFSN. "The Ravens were potent in Year 1 under Todd Monken and elite in Year 2 — could the Broncos follow that trajectory? It's not likely, but it's within the range of outcomes. With some plus-matchups after Thanksgiving, Denver could peak at the right time and build on what was a surprisingly positive 2024.'
A middle-of-the-pack ranking seems fair going into the summer. Denver will look to improve on that ranking this fall, starting with a Week 1 showdown with the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 7 (view the full schedule).

Given how the league is now pass-happy, Allen will need to improve on those numbers, as Mayfield (41 touchdowns), Burrow (43), and Lamar Jackson (41) will likely be close to those numbers again. Allen's rushing touchdowns are a good tie-breaker, but his passing numbers will need to improve if he is to back up his MVP win with another. Yes, the wins will need to remain the same; that can't drop off, but everything else needs to improve. With Buffalo expected to seriously challenge for the Super Bowl, Allen will be in the MVP mix regardless, but to have a genuine shot at winning it and being just the sixth player in NFL history to go back-to-back, the Superman cape might need to come out more often.
