Louis Tomlinson slams hurtful comments about Zara McDermott and his late mum - 'It's too much'
Former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson revealed why he's been absent from X/Twitter as he slammed those prying into his life. The 33-year-old star has been dating Love Island's Zara McDermott for several months, with the two last spotted enjoying the sunshine at Glastonbury Festival.
According to a deflated Louis, many have been sharing 'conspiracy' theories about his romance with Zara - who previously dated former Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson for five years. Taking to his X page, he wrote: "The last few months have made it impossible to be on here. "
He went on to say there were offensive comments made about his son Freddie, eight, who he shares with ex Brianna Jungwirth. Some also posted opinions about his late mother Johanna Deakin, who died in 2016.
"All the conspiracy chat about my relationship, my son or even stretching sometimes to opinions on my Mum," Louis said. "It's just too much and too hurtful for me to see! Thank you to everyone who always has my back!"
Before the tweet, he last posted on July 8, writing: "So excited to be back on stage tomorrow. Feels like a while! Who's coming?!!" His most recent Instagram post was a slew of snaps from his time at Worthy Farm with pals and Zara.
Loyal fans rushed to the comment section to share their support for him. One concerned user said: "There are way too many that support you no matter what; please believe that there are amazing fans always here for you!"
"Your true fans will always have your back. The ones that respect you for you, your talent, and let you live a life.
"Those people are the ones you should be thankful for," another fan commented. One fan added: "So so proud of you, tell them haters Louis!!!"
Louis previously discussed his annoyance over theories made about him. A famous one claimed Louis and 1D star Harry Styles enjoyed a romantic relationship.
He tweeted in 2012: "Larry is the biggest load of bulls*** I've ever heard. I'm happy, why can't you accept that.'
In 2024, he brought up the theory again and said: "What's tough is, I realised this some years ago, there is nothing I can say. There is nothing I can do to dispel the believers of that conspiracy.
"It does irritate me a little bit, you know? But it is just kind of the nature of the job, I suppose.'

Kate Beckinsale shares emotional post after death of mum Judy Loe following cancer battle
"The world is so dim without her that it is nearly impossible to bear." British actress Kate Beckinsale has announced the death of her mother Judy Loe, following a battle with cancer. The Serendipity star posted an emotional tribute on social media on Thursday, July 17, confirming her mother had passed away "in her arms" on July 15, aged 78. Only a year earlier, Judy had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. Kate had a very close relationship with her mother, and lost her father at the age of five. The 51-year-old shared several photos of Judy, who was also an actress, with a heartbreaking caption just days after posting a video of herself singing to her mother in hospital. She said she was "paralysed" following Judy's death, citing her as "the compass of my life" before apologising repeatedly. Judy was known for roles including Dr Helen Sanders in the drama General Hospital, Princess May in the ATV series Edward the Seventh, and appeared multiple times as a guest star throughout her caree. Kate's emotional post on Instagram reads: "I don't want to post this. I am only posting this because I have had to register my mother's death certificate, and it will soon become public record. "She died the night of July 15th in my arms after immeasurable suffering. I have not picked all the best photos, nor the best videos, because I cannot bear to go through my camera roll yet. "I deeply apologise to any of her friends who are finding out this way or through the press, but I cannot go through her phone. I am paralysed. Jude was the compass of my life, the love of my life, and my dearest friend. "This tiny woman's vastness and huge heart have touched so many people who love her dearly. She has been brave in so many ways, forgiving sometimes too much and believing in the ultimate good in people. "The world is so dim without her that it is nearly impossible to bear. Mama, I love you so much. This has been my greatest fear since finding my father dead at five, and I am here. Oh my Mama.. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I am so sorry." In February this year, she had taken to social media to ask people to keep Judy in their thoughts, writing: "anyone who has a spare prayer or magic or miracle or sunbeam please send it to my mama, my most extraordinary, warrior, generous, humble, loving, unique, irreplaceable Mama."

Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight makes its South African debut
Joburg film lovers, clear your calendars for 25 July. Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight, the moving new adaptation of Alexandra Fuller's best-selling memoir, is finally getting its South African premiere. Directed by South African-born actor and filmmaker Embeth Davidtz, this is a story rooted deeply in African soil. Shot in South Africa and adapted for the screen by Davidtz herself, the film offers a rare and emotionally layered portrayal of Zimbabwe's transition from colonial Rhodesia to independence. At the heart of it all is eight-year-old Bobo, played by newcomer Lexi Venter, a young white girl navigating a childhood shaped by grief, shifting family dynamics, and a land at war. The story unfolds through Bobo's eyes, bringing tenderness, innocence, and emotional truth to a time often only seen through historical or political lenses. 'Even in the middle of pain and inherited racism, love and transformation are actually possible,' says Davidtz, who also stars in the film. 'This story helped me process my own childhood in apartheid-era South Africa.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sony Pictures Classics (@sonyclassics) With a stellar local cast that includes Zikhona Bali, Fumani N Shilubana, and Rob Van Vuuren, the film is both intimate and expansive, telling a personal tale against a backdrop of war and cultural upheaval. Behind the scenes, a powerhouse production team backs the film, including executive producers Anele Mdoda, Frankie Du Toit, and Trevor Noah, and acclaimed producers Helena Spring and Paul Buys. Following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film now comes home, offering South African audiences a chance to witness this poignant coming-of-age story where memory, identity, and healing are front and centre.

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham 'tease Fleetwood Mac reunion' with posts
Fleetwood Mac's estranged lovers Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have caused fans to 'crash out' with a matching pair of social media posts. The Landslide hitmakers have had a turbulent personal and professional relationship over the years, with the band's chart-topping studio album Rumours written at the time of their breakup in the 70s. The musical duo last performed on stage together in January 2018, with reports of a significant disagreement between the pair over their working schedule sealing the deal on their professional breakup. After bandmate Christine McVie's death in November 2022, the band seemed pretty set on never reuniting on stage, with Stevie focusing on her successful solo career. In a pair of posts made to Instagram earlier today the lead singer, 77, and former guitarist, 75, seemed to imply the almost decade-long rupture might finally be at an end. On Stevie's account she posted the lyrics from 1973 hit Frozen Love: 'And if you go forward' which comes from Buckingham Nicks' only album. Then, Lindsey completed the line with his own post reading: 'I'll meet you there'. There's no denying the two posts are linked in style, theme and timing – leading fans to the conclusion that a longawaited reunion could finally be happening. And everyone is spiralling. 'Glad I was already planning on crashing out today!' yogimagee wrote on Instagram. 'IM GOING TO THROW UP WHATS HAPPENING,' maddieshonholtz added. 'WHAT DOES THIS MEAN' stevienicksnation echoed. Some are sepculating it could mean just a Buckingham Nicks reunion while others think the whole gang could be getting back together. Regardless, everyone wants to see Lindsey and Stevie singing the 1977 tune Silver Springs together live on stage after it recently went viral on TikTok in a trend recounting the pair's heartwrenching romance. 'Forget FM for a minute, just give us a Buckingham Nicks tour please,' andymacphee comics declared. 'Fleetwood Mac reunion in 2025?? A girl can dream,' ahs_adn shared. 'Tell us what's happening before I completely crash out please and thank you,' mejennamarie declared. 'It feels amazing to be alive to witness the stars align like this, It was written,' drimaued shared. Whatever this is, a Fleetwood Mac reunion does still seem unlikely. In June 2024, Stevie told Mojo magazine: 'Without Christine, no can do… There is no chance of putting Fleetwood Mac back together in any way. Without her, it just couldn't work.' More Trending This doesn't rule out an onstage reunion between just these two or remastering of their record , however. Or it could just be their way of telling their fans that the hatchet has finally been buried – time will tell. In an interview with Rolling Stone in October 2024 she said about Lindsey: 'I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.' Meanwhile, last year bandmate Mick Fleetwood added: 'Stevie's able to speak clearly about how she feels and doesn't feel, as does Lindsey. But I'll say, personally, I would love to see a healing between them.' Maybe his wish has finally come true. Got a story?
