Cardinals training camp: What to know about Saturday's Red & White practice

USA Todaya day ago
The Cardinals' annual Red & White practice is Saturday. Here is what you need to know.
The Arizona Cardinals have their final training camp practice of the week, and it is their most highly attended one every year. It is the Red & White practice.
While practice itself isn't much different than any other day (back when Bruce Arians was head coach and when it was held in Flagstaff, the Cardinals would have a full-contact goalline session), there are more things for fans.
If you have plans of attending the practice at State Farm Stadium Saturday afternoon, here is what you need to know.
Cardinals training camp: What to know about the Red & White practice
First and foremost, you need to acquire tickets. They are free and you can reserve up to four using the team site.
The practice is at State Farm Stadium on Saturday, August 2 from 1:15-3:15 p.m. Arizona time.
Season ticket holders will be able to enter at 12:30 p.m. and the general public at 12:45 p.m. through Gates 1, 2 and 3.
Parking is free, and lots will open at 12:15 p.m. on both sides of the stadium.
The NFL's clear-bag policy is in effect.
Because of the heat, it is recommended that fans hydrate ahead of time and have a non-frozen, unopened 16.9-ounce bottle of water for the wait in line.
Before practice starts, owner Michael Bidwill and head coach Jonathan Gannon will speak to fans. In years past, the Cardinals who made the Pro Bowl the previous season will be presented with their framed Pro Bowl jersey. Tight end Trey McBride and safety Budda Baker were the Cardinals' Pro Bowlers last season.

Celtics point guard Derrick White hosts annual basketball camp in Colorado

Boston Celtics point guard Derrick White hosted his annual basketball camp in conjunction with Hillside Connection, a group founded by Terrell Brown that was created to promote the sport in Colorado Springs, this past Saturday (Aug. 2). The Celtics floor general took some time out of his offseason schedule to host nearly 100 youths at the camp at Sierra High School, per the Gazette's Marcus Hill. White leaned into NBA defense and the principles he conducts himself with while playing it to a rapt audience, but the Colorado native isn't just there to teach another generation of prospective players how to elevate their individual games at this stage of their engagement with the sport. "Coming back to the Springs where it all started for me is special," said the Celtics floor general. "Camps like this are a great way to play basketball and have fun or meet a new friend. You might learn a new technique you can take home and show your friends. " "It's a great way to get out here and meet new people and have fun while doing it," suggested White. "I'm from Colorado, and they can see a kid from Colorado made it and say, 'Why not me?'," asked the University of Colorado - Boulder alum rhetorically. "I saw Chauncey (Billups) do it and I know it's possible. Hopefully one of these kids sees me and what I've managed to accomplish, and they'll think it's possible to reach their dreams, whatever that might be."
