Lessons on good touch, bad touch by anganwadi teachers to students
This was disclosed by the Women and Child Welfare Minister Dhanasari Anasuya (Seethakka) after a brainstorming conference, which has given life to many new ideas for women and child welfare. The minister said that the brainstorming conferences will be organised once every three months. She said by organising such conferences in the districts, the desired goals can be achieved. The voluntary organisations and intellectuals working on women and child welfare gave their valuable suggestions in this conference.
The Minister said that girls will be made aware of 'good touch and bad touch' through Anganwadi teachers. She said that voluntary organisations working on the safety of women and girls will be identified and Anganwadis will be linked with them. A meeting would be held soon with voluntary organisations working on women's rights and strong policies will be formulated for the safety of women. She said that an advisory committee with experts would be formed for women and child welfare. She revealed that the services provided by the department would be further strengthened with their suggestions. Friendship committees will be formed with girls for the protection of girls these committees will work as self-protection teams, said the minister.
Seethakka said that in many places, newborn babies were being abandoned in bushes and garbage dumps. She said that cradles will be set up wherever possible to prevent this. She said that instead of throwing the babies away if they were left in those cradles, the government would take their responsibility.
The Minister said that it was sad that even after 10 years of Telangana's formation, the rules of the Prevention of Child Marriage Act were not adopted. She announced that the rules would be adopted soon. The Minister said that people should be made aware of the harm caused by child marriages in village assemblies and other government programs. She said that the seeds of ICDS schemes were planted in the Telangana region. She recalled that freedom fighter Durgabai Deshmukh started ICDS in Mahabubnagar in 1972. Based on those experiences, Indira Gandhi expanded the ICDS scheme across the country. She said that Durgabai Deshmukh and Indira Gandhi were the pioneers of Anganwadi services.

Govt. sanctions ₹150 crore for Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara 2026
The State government has sanctioned ₹150 crore for the conduct of the Sammakka-Sarakka (Saralamma) Medaram Maha Jatara, scheduled to be held from January 28 to 31, 2026, in Mulugu district. The Tribal Welfare department issued orders ( dated August 19, 2025) releasing the funds from the 2025–26 budget estimates under the head 'Works under Medaram Jatara'. The funds will be utilised for infrastructure development, including roads, permanent structures, drinking water supply, electricity and sanitation. Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), who represents the Mulugu Assembly constituency, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Tribal Welfare Minister Adluru Laxman Kumar for approving the funds. 'This decision is a symbol of respect for the tribal community. The sanction of ₹150 crore reflects the commitment of the government towards tribals. This year's Jatara will be held on a grander and historic scale,' Minister Seethakka said. Held once every two years at Medaram in SS Tadvai mandal in Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary, the Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara also known as 'Kumbh Mela of the South' attracts millions of devotees, mainly tribals from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Odisha. The government allocates special funds to manage infrastructure, health services, drinking water, sanitation and crowd management during the festival.

Balvatikas: 5,118 govt nursery schools for kids below 6 yrs launched
The state government formally opened 5118 Balvatikas - government run playgroup or pre primary schools - across Uttar Pradesh as a world of learning and play for young children on Independence Day, a spokesperson said. In collaboration with the ministry of women and child development (ICDS), nearby Anganwadi centres have been shifted to these schools and upgraded with modern facilities. Kanchan Verma, director-general, school education, inaugurated Adarsh Bal Vatika Vishrampur in Bakshi Ka Talab block of Lucknow district. She said, 'National Education Policy 2020 emphasises on school consolidation by grouping small and limited use schools into larger and more viable institutions.' New Balvatikas are being operated with the cooperation of ICDS and infrastructural facilities and academic facilities are being provided by the basic education department. In her address, Verma said that now children in the age group of 3 years to 6 years will get strong opportunities for basic education in a classroom while playing. Bakshi Ka Talab block education officer Preeti Shukla said that four new Bal Vatikas of this type were inaugurated in the development block today. Basic education minister Sandeep Singh stated that in line with NEP-2020, Balvatikas will help lay a strong foundation for the future of young children. 'Nutrition, a safe environment, and joyful learning are our priorities so that every child is mentally and socially prepared before entering Class 1,' he said. These Balvatikas feature child-friendly furniture, outdoor play equipment, colorful classrooms, learning corners, and BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) features. Additionally, practice booklets, wonder boxes for activity-based learning, teaching-learning material (TLM), and stationery are being provided. I-Day at Balvatikas On Independence Day 2025, celebrations were held in these Balvatikas. Activities included school cleaning, painting, and attractive decorations, along with competitions in singing, dancing, plays, and painting. Local public representatives, the community, especially mothers and parents, were invited to strengthen community participation in children's education. Kanchan Verma, emphasised that the age group of 3 to 6 years is crucial for a child's mental, emotional, and social development. Completing this school readiness stage ensures that a child is fully prepared for formal learning upon entering Class 1.

Minister Seethakka launches development works in Chevella
Telangana State Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka and Telangana Government Chief Whip Dr. Patnam Mahender Reddy visited Mudimyala in Chevella Mandal to inaugurate significant infrastructure projects. During their visit, the Ministers launched the Malkapuram-Mudimyala BT road works, which are backed by funding of Rs. 3 crore 35 lakhs, provided under the auspices of local MLA Kale Yadayya. Additionally, they unveiled CC road projects in Chevella with a sanctioned amount of Rs. 1 crore 30 lakhs. In his remarks, Mahender Reddy highlighted the government's commitment to local development, revealing that Rs. 571 crore has been allocated for 1,583 new works in the Panchayat Raj Rangareddy Division. To date, 1,176 of these projects have been completed, with Rs. 132 crore already disbursed. Furthermore, he announced that Rs. 25 crore 10 lakhs have been earmarked for nine projects in the Chevella Division, underscoring the ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure in the region.
