"Should be global accountability, alliance against terrorism", says all party delegation member Priyanka Chaturvedi
Speaking with ANI, Priyanka Chaturvedi said, 'There should be a zero tolerance against terrorism and there should also be global accountability and a global alliance against terrorism.'
Slamming Pakistan for being involved in the terror attack, she highlighted that terrorist groups like Al Qaida and Jaish-e-Mohammad originated from the country.
'All roots of terrorism are coming from Pakistan. Pakistan has become a global terror hub. It exports terrorists not just in our country but also in other countries. America or Europe should not forget that Al Qaida, Jaish-e-Mohammad and other terror groups are found there (Pakistan),' she said.
'Those who are empowering Pakistan financially should see where the money is being used... It is time for the entire world to be aware and call Pakistan out for what it is,' she said.
Chaturvedi is part of the delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, which will visit the UK, France, Germany, the EU, Italy and Denmark.
Other members of the delegation include Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP), Ghulam Ali Khatana, Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), M J Akbar, and Ambassador Pankaj Saran.
Earlier, Shashi Tharoor, who is leading a delegation to US, emphasised that Operation Sindoor marks a new normal in India's approach to combating terrorism. The operation was a response to Pakistan's continued hostilities and terrorist activities. Tharoor stated that no one in Pakistan can take India for granted and kill Indians without facing consequences.
'There has now got to be a new normal. No one sitting in Pakistan is going to be allowed to believe that they can just walk across the border and kill our citizens with impunity. There will be a price to pay, and that price has been going up systematically,' he said.
The seven multi-party delegations to various countries are tasked with projecting India's national consensus and firm stance on combating terrorism in all its forms. They are carrying India's strong message of zero tolerance against terrorism to the global community during their outreach. (ANI)

New Delhi: White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Tuesday once again claimed that US President Donald Trump has ended the military conflict between India and Pakistan. She said that it was seen not only in the progress with Russia and Ukraine but also "in the closing of seven global conflicts around the world." Since May 10, when Trump announced on social media that India and Pakistan had agreed to a "full and immediate" ceasefire after a "long night" of talks mediated by Washington, he has repeated his claim over 40 times that he "helped settle" the tensions between India and Pakistan. India has been consistently maintaining that the understanding on cessation of hostilities with Pakistan was reached following direct talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two militaries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said in Parliament that no leader of any country asked India to stop Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, replying to one more question, Leavitt said that Trump has imposed sanctions on India to bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war. "The President has put tremendous public pressure to bring this war to a close. He has taken actions as you seen sanctions on India and other actions as well. He has made himself very clear that he wants to see this war end," she added. Earlier in an interview to CNBC, US treasury secretary Scott Bessent also accused India of "profiteering" by reselling Russian oil. US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs totalling 50 per cent on India including 25 per cent for New Delhi's purchases of Russian oil that will come into effect from August 27. India has called the tariffs "unjustified and unreasonable". India said that, like any major economy, it will take all necessary measures to safeguard its national interests and economic security.

The letter expressed thanks for Melania's efforts to raise awareness about the roughly 19,500 Ukrainian children that the Ukrainian government says have been abducted by Russia since the 2022 invasion. Melania previously sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging him to consider the well-being of children. She had written, 'In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone, you serve humanity.' While her note did not name specific children, it highlighted the broader humanitarian concern. Over the weekend, the White House shared her letter on social media, where she wrote, 'Every child dreams of love, possibility and safety from danger. Mr. Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter.' Asked about the letter on Monday, Trump said his wife 'feels very strongly' about children, 'hates to see something like this happening' and would like the conflicts to end. He added, 'She says it very openly, very proudly and with great sorrow because so many people have been killed.' The Ukrainian government reports that about 19,500 children have been forcibly taken to Russia or Russian-occupied territories, with only roughly 1,500 returned. Will hold dharna if West Bengal's college admissions do not begin soon, warns BJP
Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari warned of sit-in demonstrations outside the State Education Department headquarters at Bikash Bhavan from next week if the State government does not initiate college admissions and publish pending exam results by the end of this week (August 24, 2025). On Monday (August 18, 2025), Mr. Adhikari headed a delegation of 15 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators to meet Governor CV Ananda Bose and submitted a memorandum seeking his urgent intervention in the prolonged delay in the publishing of results of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). WBJEE, an entrance exam for undergraduate engineering, technology, architecture, and pharmacy courses in West Bengal's State-run and State-aided universities, was conducted on April 27, but the results have been delayed, likely because the matter surrounding the State's Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation list is currently being heard by the Supreme Court. 'It has been three months [since examinations have been concluded], yet first-year admissions have not yet begun. JEE results have not been declared. This is a very serious issue. Nearly 5 lakh candidates and their guardians are very worried. They are suffering… If college admissions do not start by this week and the JEE results are not published, BJP MLAs will hold dharnas in front of Bikash Bhavan from next week,' Mr. Adhikari said after meeting the Governor. In West Bengal, 8,200 educational institutions shut down last year, Mr. Adhikari said. He also accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of trying to privatise higher education in the State. 'The delay will lead to drop [in] student turnout as many may be forced to reluctantly seek opportunity outside Bengal. In addition to the worst hit future of lakhs of meritorious students, the reputation of the educational institution in West Bengal [gets] hit which will reduce the number of students as they will go outside in huge number,' the memorandum to the Governor dated August 18, 2025, reads. Meanwhile, the West Bengal government's Directorate of Medical Education, in an 'urgent notice' on August 18, announced that the counselling and admission process for medical and dental courses under National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 'has been kept under abeyance till further order.' 'The future of the state's medical students has been pushed into darkness. Why was the admission counseling, once started, suddenly halted indefinitely? Is this yet another attempt to appease narrow political interests by granting undue privilege to a particular group under the guise of reservation?' Union Minister and BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar questioned on Monday, referring to the order. On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, activists of the Students Federation of India (SFI) staged a demonstration near Bikash Bhavan to protest against the delay in WBJEE results and the deferment of MBBS and BDS counselling. Several protestors were detained as the police disrupted SFI's protest march to Bikash Bhavan.
