Kiernan Shipka & Mckenna Grace To Star In Picturestart Thriller ‘The Nowhere Game'; WME Independent Launching Sales At EFM
Kiernan Shipka (The Last Showgirl) and Mckenna Grace (upcoming Scream 7) have signed on to star in The Nowhere Game, a survival thriller to be produced by Erik Feig's Picturestart.
David Charbonier and Justin Douglas Powell (The Djinn) will direct off a script by Alex Pototsky, which made the 2023 Black List. WME Independent and UTA will co-rep domestic rights, with WME Independent handling international.

The film follows Carin (Grace) and Allie (Shipka), whose road trip takes a harrowing turn when the two young women are kidnapped by a cold-blooded sadist and thrust into a brutal game of survival. With a short head start, Carin and Allie will be set loose in the forest with limited supplies while being hunted in front of an online audience watching in grim fascination. With no sign of civilization and no way to call for help, the women rely on their wits and each other to evade capture. Navigating the hostile wilderness, they discover eerie clues left behind by previous 'contestants,' painting a grim picture of the stakes they face. As the hunter closes in, realization dawns on them: surviving isn't just improbable — it's nearly impossible. Carin and Allie must shed their fear and transform from prey to predator to bring this twisted game to its final, bloody conclusion.
Recently working with Picturestart on the rom-com Sweethearts, which wound up at Max, Shipka is also coming off of performances in Twisters, Longlegs and the acclaimed indie drama The Last Showgirl opposite Pamela Anderson.
Soon to be seen in Scream 7, Grace was last seen starring in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
Charbonier and Powell are lifelong friends who recently completed their third feature, Push, a horror thriller starring Alicia Sanz and Raul Castillo that has been picked up by Shudder. Their first film, The Boy Behind the Door, had its world premiere at the 2020 edition of Fantastic Fest, releasing on Shudder along with their indie horror-fantasy The Djinn, which was acquired by IFC.
Picturestart is coming off of Sundance sucess with Together, the body horror pic starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie, which sold to Neon for a reported $17M, in one of the only big deals of this year's festival.

Bindi Irwin honors her late father, Steve Irwin, by continuing his conservation legacy at the Australia Zoo. His spirit is also living on in an unexpected way — and daughter Grace Warrior, 4, is the beneficiary of that magic. 'He does fun things and exciting things, and so she loves it,' she continued. 'He's so present with her which I love so much. When we were growing up as kids, me and Robert, it was very similar with Dad. He would do the same thing with us where he would pick us up and be like, 'OK, we are going to hike up this mountain while we're heading to the Simpson Desert to research fear snakes.' As kids, Bindi and Robert would happily follow Steve, who was 'such an adventurer' — a trait that she also sees in her brother. Parker Posey Joins List Of ‘Scream' Victims Who Want To 'Come Back'
Although Parker Posey narrowly survived her stay at The White Lotus, she's ready to go up against Ghostface again. The Golden Globe nominee, whose Scream 3 (2000) character Jennifer Jolie was seemingly killed, hopes to reprise the role for a future installment after other previous franchise victims and killers have been resurrected.
