Strengthen MSME ecosystem: Andhra Pradesh Chambers
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) wrote to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and congratulated the TDP-led NDA government on the successful completion of one year.
In the representation, AP Chambers president Potluri Bhaskara Rao mentioned that the government under the visionary leadership of Naidu has accomplished major milestones, and key projects aimed at propelling the State's economy.
'Under the Chief Minister's leadership, the State government launched Swarna Andhra Vision-2047, and excellent industrial policies. With these initiatives, AP is set on a transformational path of inclusive development, innovation and industrial growth,' Rao said.
'We appreciate the government for its efforts to balance both economic development and welfare. We also appreciate the government for giving importance to Speed of Doing Business.
'The government has given utmost importance to the construction of key projects like Amaravati capital city and Polavaram, which have potential to transform the economic landscape of AP,' Rao hailed.
He said although the government has launched many policies to strengthen the MSME ecosystem in the State, MSMEs are facing a lot of hardships due to the rise in production costs, drop in demand due to global economic downturn. 'We urge the government to come to the aid of the MSMEs by releasing the long-pending incentives,' he said.
'We request the government to look into the power charges for industries. The bringing down of charges will offer a big relief to industries,' he said.

Andhra govt launches 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme, ₹15,000 to be given for school-going child
Amaravati, The TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has launched 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme where ₹15,000 will be given annually to every school-going child in a household, a top official said on Friday. 'Talliki Vandanam' is one of the 'Super Six' set of welfare promises made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the run-up to the 2024 polls. "The government has issued guidelines for the implementation of the 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme, a key initiative designed to empower mothers/guardians across the state, by extending financial assistance of ₹15,000 per annum per child to every eligible mother/guardian," said Kona Sasidhar, secretary to government in an order. Irrespective of the number of children in a household who attend school from class I to intermediate, the scheme will be extended to all eligible households. Likewise, the government will also take into account the expected eligible enrollments into Class I and junior intermediate for this scheme, it said. Over 67 lakh students and 43 lakh mothers will benefit from the 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme. Out of ₹15,000 per annum, ₹2,000 will be deducted at source for the overall development of educational ecosystem in the state, involving maintenance, hygiene and sanitation. According to the secretary, this scheme focuses on making school education more accessible and inclusive with a commitment to provide equal opportunities and improve learning outcomes. "The scheme empowers mothers to be actively involved in their children's schooling from Class I to Class XII, while recognising their pivotal role in shaping educational progress," he said. The benefits of this scheme will be extended to all the eligible children, Sasidhar said, adding that government, private aided and private unaided schools and junior colleges will be covered. The southern state has set a timeframe between June 12 and July 5 to complete the entire disbursal and implementation of the scheme. Dubbed as the "mother of all welfare schemes" by the government, 'Tallki Vandanam' is also aimed at encouraging families to have more children as part of Naidu's focus on addressing a plummeting population and 'demographic management'.

UK dispatches team to help India investigate Ahmedabad Air India crash
British Prime Minister Kier Starmer has announced that an investigation team from the United Kingdom has been dispatched to India as part of the ongoing investigation into the crash of Air India's London-bound flight AI 171 in statement came soon after the British agency, Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), which investigates civil aircraft accidents and serious incidents, said it will be deploying a multidisciplinary investigation team to India to support the India-led investigation into the flight crashed with 242 people on board within minutes of taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday evening. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau in India. YSRCP government inflated bills of Central scheme: Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar
GUNTUR: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar alleged that the previous YSRCP government submitted inflated bills under minority welfare scheme, prompting the Centre to demand repayment of Rs 250 crore from the State. Speaking on NDA one-year governance at an event held at Guntur East MLA Mohammad Nazeer Ahmed's office on Thursday, Pemmassani said fake bills were submitted under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK). Although the previous TDP government proposed 500 works, completing 55, the YSRCP later claimed to have completed 80 more. However, the Central audit revealed that those works were never executed, he revealed. 'This was not a clerical error. It was a deliberate deception,' he said, challenging YSRCP leaders to debate the facts publicly. Unless the misused amount is repaid, new Central funds under PMJVK cannot be accessed. He urged the Muslim community to assess whether the previous government developed real infrastructure, like schools, roads or community halls, in their areas or not. Highlighting the NDA government's achievements, he said pensions and salaries are now paid promptly every month.
