Strengthen MSME ecosystem: Andhra Pradesh Chambers
In the representation, AP Chambers president Potluri Bhaskara Rao mentioned that the government under the visionary leadership of Naidu has accomplished major milestones, and key projects aimed at propelling the State's economy.
'Under the Chief Minister's leadership, the State government launched Swarna Andhra Vision-2047, and excellent industrial policies. With these initiatives, AP is set on a transformational path of inclusive development, innovation and industrial growth,' Rao said.
'We appreciate the government for its efforts to balance both economic development and welfare. We also appreciate the government for giving importance to Speed of Doing Business.
'The government has given utmost importance to the construction of key projects like Amaravati capital city and Polavaram, which have potential to transform the economic landscape of AP,' Rao hailed.
He said although the government has launched many policies to strengthen the MSME ecosystem in the State, MSMEs are facing a lot of hardships due to the rise in production costs, drop in demand due to global economic downturn. 'We urge the government to come to the aid of the MSMEs by releasing the long-pending incentives,' he said.
'We request the government to look into the power charges for industries. The bringing down of charges will offer a big relief to industries,' he said.

The Chief Minister said it will be the first session which will have a detailed discussion on the 'Vision Document', which will include suggestions from all parties for the overall development of the State. 'This will not be the agenda of any political party, but will be a shared blueprint for the future of the State,' he added.

Former YSRCP MLA faces heat for making political comments at Tirumala
Tirumala: The sanctity of Tirumala has once again come under focus after former YSRCP legislator and maternal uncle of former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Pochimareddy Ravindranath Reddy allegedly made political statements during his visit to the hill shrine, despite a ban on such activity. Ravindranath Reddy offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara temple on Sunday morning. But moments after stepping out of the shrine, he spoke to the media, launching a sharp attack on the ruling coalition and commenting on ongoing political developments. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board had only recently passed a resolution strictly prohibiting political speeches, allegations or propaganda in Tirumala to preserve the temple's spiritual atmosphere. Officials say this was done to ensure that faith and politics remain separate in one of the country's most revered pilgrimage centres. In his remarks, Reddy alleged that the Telugu Desam-led alliance was 'misusing power' in the run-up to the Pulivendula ZPTC by-election. He accused the government of resorting to intimidation of YSR Congress workers and residents, engineering irregularities, and even making arrangements for cross-village voting to influence results. He claimed voter turnout was being deliberately suppressed through unlawful means. The former MLA also criticised the State's flagship 'Super Six' scheme, claiming it had failed to deliver on promises and had led to a decline in crop yields. He went on to assert that the people of Pulivendula were firmly behind the YSRCP and that the current political climate was unlike anything seen since Independence. Reddy even suggested that if Jagan Mohan Reddy had wished, leaders like CM N Chandrababu Naidu and deputy CM K Pawan Kalyan would not have been able to file their nominations in the 2024 elections. TTD's Vigilance and Security Department has taken note of Reddy's comments. Sources indicate that the board is reviewing the footage and may soon issue a show-cause notice, asking the leader to explain why action should not be taken against him for flouting the 'no politics in Tirumala' policy

Security footage from Syria hospital shows men in military garb killing medical worker
Footage from security cameras at a hospital in the city of Sweida in southern Syria published on Sunday (August 10, 2025) showed what appears to be the killing of a medical worker by men in military garb. The video published by activist media collective Suwayda 24 was dated July 16, during intense clashes between militias of the Druze minority community and armed tribal groups and government forces. In the video, which was also widely shared on social media, a large group of people in scrubs can be seen kneeling on the floor in front of a group of armed men. The armed men grab a man and hit him on the head as if they are going to apprehend him. The man tries to resist by wrestling with one of the gunmen, before he is shot once with an assault rifle and then a second time by another person with a pistol. A man in a dark jumpsuit with 'Internal Security Forces' written on it appears to be guiding the men in camouflage into the hospital. Another security camera shows a tank stationed outside the facility. Activist media groups say the gunmen were from the Syrian military and security forces. A Syrian government official said they could not immediately identify the attackers in the video, and are investigating the incident to try to figure out if they are government-affiliated personnel or gunmen from tribal groups. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not immediately cleared to speak to the media on the matter. The government has set up a committee tasked with investigating attacks on civilians during the sectarian violence in the country's south, which is supposed to issue a report within three months. The incident at the Sweida National Hospital further exacerbates tensions between the Druze minority community and the Syrian government, after clashes in July between Druze and armed Bedouin groups sparked targeted sectarian attacks against them. The violence has worsened ties between them and Syria's Islamist-led interim government under President Ahmad al-Sharaa, who hopes to assert full government control and disarm Druze factions. Though the fighting has largely calmed down, government forces have surrounded the southern city and the Druze have said that little aid is going into the battered city, calling it a siege. The Syrian Arab Red Crescent, which has organised aid convoys into Sweida, said in a statement on Saturday that one of those convoys that was carrying aid in the day before 'came under direct fire,' and some of its vehicles were damaged. It did not specify which group attacked the convoy. On Sunday, the U.N. Security Council adopted a statement expressing 'deep concern' at the violence in southern Syria and condemning violence against civilians in Sweida. It called for the government to 'ensure credible, swift, transparent, impartial, and comprehensive investigations.' The statement also reiterated 'obligations under international humanitarian law to respect and protect all medical personnel and humanitarian personnel exclusively engaged in medical duties, their means of transportation and equipment, as well as hospitals and medical facilities.' It expressed concern about "foreign terrorist fighters" in Syria, while calling on 'all states to refrain from any action or interference that may further destabilise the country,' an apparent message to Israel, which intervened in last month's conflict on the side of the Druze, launching airstrikes on Syrian government forces.
