Travis Hunter, the Jaguars' rookie who plays both wide receiver and cornerback, got his first upper-body injury. NFL Hall of Famer Rod Woodson warned that this injury might stop his dream of playing both ways.
Woodson said this after Hunter sat out the Jaguars' preseason game against the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans on August 17, 2025. The warning came because Hunter played just 18 snaps (10 on offence and 8 on defence) on August 9 in their preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Jacksonville before the injury surfaced.
Rod Woodson warns Travis Hunter about two-way NFL role
Rod Woodson, who played 17 seasons in the NFL and is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, spoke with USA Today and said it is too much to expect Hunter to play the same heavy load in the NFL that he had in college. Rod Woodson noted,
'90 snaps a game on offence and defence for 17 weeks? That's a tough ask.
If anyone can do it, it's him, but it's tough on your body.'
He pointed out that even great two-way NFL players like Deion Sanders and Woodson himself eventually chose one side. This shows how rare and difficult it is to stay healthy playing both roles.
Travis Hunter's upper-body injury in Jaguars preseason game
Travis Hunter was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner at Colorado. He was held out of the preseason game in New Orleans on August 17 as a precaution for a minor upper-body injury.

Jaguars coach Liam Coen called the move careful, saying the injury is not serious. Hunter had already missed some practice earlier that week because of the injury.
In his first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 9, Hunter played on both sides and caught both of his targets for 9 yards. Now, his absence in New Orleans opened the door for other young players to step up during the game that ended 17-17.

He added, 'He didn't say anything about football, he didn't say anything about how fast I was. He just said, 'Uncle Dave, I miss you. How are you doing?'' Hearing those words made a huge difference. Casey Mittelstadt trade rumors stir Boston Bruins off-season buzz

Casey Mittelstadt (Image Via Twitter) In this off-season, the Boston Bruins find themselves again at the focal point of trade speculation. After their streak of playoff appearances came to a bitter end last year, the management wasted little time in ruffling the roster. Victorious new faces such as Viktor Arvidsson, Tanner Jeannot, Sean Kuraly, Michael Eyssimont, and Jordan Harris put forth a strong case to come back in 2025–26. But despite these acquisitions, trade rumors are rife in Boston. Casey Mittelstadt is now in the limelight, with his position in the playmaking room between fans and analysts. Casey Mittelstadt's uncertain future with the Boston Bruins Brought in at the trade deadline to shore up Boston's center depth, Casey Mittelstadt's early numbers say otherwise, as in his 18 games, the 26-year-old has only six points to show for and an alarming minus-17 rating. While the skill set indicates some untapped potential, some insiders contend the Bruins were more interested in acquiring the young prospect William Zellers in the Charlie Coyle deal, and Mittelstadt was more of an afterthought. Should he be dealt once again, it would be his third time moving since 2024, highlighting just how precarious his status may be despite having both age and potential on his side. Tips and Tricks Undo Goaltender Joonas Korpisalo and forward Pavel Zacha have found themselves in rumour mills since the draft, but their agents have put paid to any notion of discontentment in Boston. Still, if the Bruins should stumble at the start of the season, tweaks to the roster might present themselves. Another name appearing in the speculation is right-winger Fabian Lysell, the Bruins' 2021 highly touted first-round pick. Lysell has been linked to the Edmonton Oilers but has never quite established himself as a full-time NHL player. However, cap space restrictions and Edmonton's unwillingness to give up young assets make any trade a difficult proposition, thus leaving his short-term future in limbo.
