Forest face Johan Bakayoko transfer hurdle as Premier League rivals muscle in

Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Everton are all showing interest in PSV winger Johan Bakayoko
Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Everton are facing an uphill battle to sign PSV winger Johan Bakayoko - even if they strike a deal with the Dutch giants for his signature.
The three Premier League clubs are going up against one another for the Belgium international and Forest in particular have identified Bakayoko as among their top summer targets following Anthony Elanga's £55million switch to Newcastle.

The 22-year-old is considered one of the best wide options available on the current market as he's entered the final year of his contract in Eindhoven.

However, competition for his signature is incredibly fierce with Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Monaco also in the mix for the attacker.
The majority of those sides have already started club-to-club dialogue with PSV but crucially, Bakayoko is understood to favour Champions League football if he's to pursue a new challenge in the coming weeks - though it's unclear whether that decision is final.
The Eredivisie champions, who want to sell, can offer him just that next season but they're cautious that foreign teams would be free to sign Bakayoko on a pre-contract agreement from January 1.

The Belgian previously snubbed a club-record switch to Brentford in September 2023 and later claimed he did not want to join a 'mid-table' side.
Sources close to Bakayoko have intimated that his preference is to fight for major trophies which so far, has not deterred any of the English clubs currently at the table.

At this stage, Forest and Bournemouth's interest is believed to be more concrete than Everton's as the Toffees also have a number of different wide options on their radar, including Real Sociedad's Takefusa Kubo.
Bakayoko mustered 12 goals and three assists in all competitions for PSV last season and he already has 20 Champions League appearances to his name.
Unlike Bournemouth and Everton, Forest can offer the forward European football next season and there's a chance they'll be playing in the Europa League, subject to an appeal, after Crystal Palace were demoted to the UEFA Conference League on Friday after allegedly breaching UEFA's multi-club ownership rules.

Lip reader reveals what a stunned Donald Trump told Melania during the Club World Cup final

Donald Trump was gushing to wife Melania about how 'freaking magical' the Club World Cup final was while watching Sunday's game, a lip reader has revealed. The President and the First Lady of the United States were both in attendance as Chelsea cruised to a shock 3-0 over Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain to become champions of the world at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. After their victory, Trump then dominated headlines by gatecrashing Chelsea players' celebrations and refusing to step aside when they lifted the trophy in an awkward moment which quickly went viral. Blues superstars Cole Palmer and Reece James have since admitted they were left baffled by his decision to remain on the stage, which came before he was slowly pushed to the back of the group amid their wild celebrations. Yet before making his way onto the field for the presentation, Trump was expressing his admiration for the whole spectacle while speaking with Melania in his VIP suite. Lip reader Nicola Hickling has revealed to the Irish Star what the 79-year-old was saying to his wife as they watched game, and it was nothing short of positive about the soccer showpiece. 'Wow, you can see each team. It looks so good. Fantastic,' Trump is initially believed to have said, according to Hickling. 'Good job. Wow. It's so freaking magical.' He is then said to have turned to Melania and asked her: 'Sweetie, do you think it could've been any better?' Trump added that he gets 'such a rush just from being among it all' before urging others in the box - which included FIFA President Gianni Infantino - to 'look at it all'. '[It] looks amazing,' he insisted. Trump received a mixed reception from the plus-80,000 fans packed inside MetLife Stadium, with some boos heard for the President when he was first shown up on the big screen. Another lip-reading expert has also lifted the lid on what he said to Chelsea players during the cringeworthy trophy-lift moment. Lip reader Jeremy Freeman revealed Trump had words of admiration for Palmer, after watching him score twice in a resounding win for the London team. 'Chelsea's biggest fan. I'm a big fan of you. So well done you,' Trump said, according to Freeman. Palmer, who has be known to offer few words in post-match interviews, reportedly replied 'Thank you' before rejoining his team-mates. Trump was given the honor of presenting the trophy to Chelsea captain Reece James, under the impression that he would then step aside and let the celebrations commence. Though as Infantino was seen attempting to usher him away from Chelsea players, Trump remained in place on either side of James and Sanchez. His refusal to leave the stage left several players bewildered as Palmer appeared to ask: 'What's he doing?'.

I still have that fire – Jordan Henderson back in Premier League with Brentford

The former Liverpool title-winning captain left Anfield in 2023, making a controversial move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq. 'After a couple of years away I still have that fire to come back and play in the Premier League again,' he told Brentford's social media. 'Obviously it's the best league in the world, with the best players. So it's a big challenge but one I'm keen on doing. 'When I was given the opportunity by Brentford and after speaking with the club it became an easy decision.' Henderson has been reunited with former Reds players Caoimhin Kelleher, Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho at the Gtech Stadium, while he also played against new Bees boss Keith Andrews early in his career. 'I think when I was at Sunderland I might have played against him a few times. He's another reason I wanted to come,' he added. Henderson, centre, won the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool (Barrington Coombs/PA) 'Caoimhin isn't in yet but I've spoken to Sepp and Fab a bit, along with the rest of the lads. It's nice to have a few familiar faces, for sure. 'They're great lads that I got on really well with at Liverpool, so that's been nice for us to settle in.' Henderson will come up against boyhood club Sunderland at the end of August and will return to Liverpool in October. 'Both clubs mean a lot to me. I owe a lot to Sunderland and then Liverpool was a huge part of my life,' he said. Henderson has won 84 caps for England (Nick Potts/PA) 'But when I'm playing against them there's no friends, we know that in football.' Andrews moved for Henderson after losing Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard to Arsenal. 'When we became aware of Jordan's availability, it was a pretty simple decision,' Andrews told the Bees website. 'We did our due diligence around his recent games to see where he is. He's still phenomenally fit and he's still phenomenally motivated to achieve things in the game, having already achieved a lot. 'With the void of experienced players leaving the building – Christian Nørgaard, Mark Flekken and Ben Mee – it was important to replace that. Hend6️⃣rson — Brentford FC (@BrentfordFC) July 15, 2025 'What Jordan will bring is that he has been one of the most influential leaders in modern Premier League years. He's been at the forefront of driving for titles and Champions Leagues at a fantastic football club. 'He also has experience at international level with England and, with that, comes a level of experience, professionalism and dedication to his profession – that's the exact way we want to be as a football club.' Henderson now has 84 caps, having been recalled by England boss Thomas Tuchel this year. He admitted he regretted the move to Saudi Arabia after joining Dutch side Ajax in January 2024.
