The 21-year-old appears to be at the top of the Hoops' list with regards to recruiting a new winger.
Nicolas Kuhn was sold to Como for a fee in excess of £17m earlier this summer, while Jota remains sidelined until the end of the year, meaning it's an area of the pitch that needs addressed by Brendan Rodgers.
The Scottish Premiership champions have already seen their offers of around £3m rejected by Go Ahead Eagles, with the Dutch outfit seeking closer to £6.5m.
Speaking ahead of the summer window, the winger admitted he's open to furthering his career sooner rather than later.
He recently told TV 2: "Of course I have ambitions to try myself at a higher level, but when that is, time will tell.
"I'm not just going to play a few good months and then take the next step. I can still develop even more here, so I'm not in a hurry to get away.

"I'm very open to the next step. It all depends on what offers come in.
"It's not like I have certain leagues that I just have to go to.
"But of course I'm aiming for as high a level as possible because it's the dream to play against the very best."

The tribute marks the Reds' first return to their home since Jota's sad passing in early July. A similar tribute from a Liverpool legend has also been performed at each of Liverpool's past two fixtures, during their Asia pre-season tour. Sir Kenny Dalglish laid a wreath in Hong Kong ahead of their contest with AC Milan, while Ian Rush took on the responsibility in the build-up to their friendly with Yokohama in Japan. Jota and his brother were driving in northern Spain last month when a blowout reportedly caused the Portuguese star to lose control of his Lamborghini and veer off the road. The incident left the football world in mourning with tributes pouring in for the 28-year-old from all corners of the globe. Liverpool have since retired his number 20 shirt at the club in his honour. There were concerns ahead of the game that the match and its heartfelt tribute would not be able to go ahead at all. Parts of Anfield had to be evacuated less than an hour before kick-off due to a an emergency alarm. A club statement read: "Shortly before 15:50pm there was a false alarm in the Anfield Main Stand, leading to supporters in that area of the stadium to be temporarily evacuated." Rangers 'a different world' for Cameron

Lyall Cameron says being at Rangers is "a different world" to what life was like at Dundee. The midfielder joined the Ibrox club in the summer and made his competitive debut in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Motherwell, replacing Mohamed Diomande for the final half an hour. Rangers led for much of the match at Fir Park, thanks to James Tavernier's first half header, but Motherwell equalised late on to snatch a point and manager Russell Martin didn't shy away from criticising the attitude shown by his players after the final whistle. "The overall feeling on Saturday was disappointment," the 22-year-old said. "I wanted to come on and help the team win. To draw in the end wasn't good enough. "We understand how critical it's been since then in the media, the fans weren't happy but that's expected because we need to win games and we know it wasn't good enough."Cameron knows it's not the last of the criticism his new side will receive but is fully focused on giving his all for the club. "It's a different world here than what I was used to [at Dundee]," he added. "Every game is so much bigger, the pressure and everything. I just take everything as it comes, I don't get too involved in anything. "I just keep myself out of it, give 100 per cent and know I'm doing the best I can do."

Jakob Breum with 'boring' transfer clue amid Celtic interest

It comes as Celtic remain locked in talks with the Dutch side over a deal for the Danish winger. So far, it seems unlikely that the Scottish Premiership champions will be able to negotiate a deal with the Eredivisie outfit. They've made it clear they won't sell him for less than £5m. It comes as Celtic's latest bid amounted to around only £1.5m. Breum was in action for Go Ahead on Sunday, as they narrowly lost to PSV Eindhoven. Read more: With just under one month to go until the transfer window closes, the 21-year-old admits his future could still lie elsewhere after a stunning debut season in the Netherlands. "Time will tell," he told ESPN. There's still one month left, but as long as I'm here, I'll do my best. "It's a boring answer, but that's the way it is. Now that important players have left, other players have to step up."
