Linkin Park's Catalog Grows Ahead Of An Exciting Re-Release
Next week, Linkin Park's From Zero will likely surge on charts around the world. The rock band dropped the deluxe edition of the collection on Friday (May 16), and fans are already streaming the full release again — and some are sure to purchase another copy as ell. The title was supported by several new singles, including "Up From the Bottom" and "Unshatter," both of which became at least minor global hits.
In anticipation of the expanded edition, several standouts from Linkin Park's catalog are already climbing in the United Kingdom, and the coming frame could be even more impressive for the Grammy-winning act.
This week, four of Linkin Park's albums appear on U.K. musical rankings. All but one of them are featured on multiple tallies, and two are tied with three placements apiece. In every case, the band's efforts are ascending.
While From Zero is not currently the group's top-performing title, it is tied with Hybrid Theory — Linkin Park's debut full-length — for the greatest number of appearances. Both sets are featured on three tallies each: the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts, as well as the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart.
On the latter, both projects are living inside the top 10. Hybrid Theory rebounds from No. 13 to No. 10, while From Zero climbs from No. 10 to No. 8.
Papercuts – Singles Collection 2000–2023 currently gives Linkin Park its highest placements overall. It's the only release of the bunch to appear on the Official Albums chart — the all-genre top 100 list of the most popular full-lengths and EPs in the U.K. On that tally, it holds at No. 25.
While sales appear to be powering From Zero and Hybrid Theory, streaming activity is fueling the ongoing success of Papercuts. The compilation is the lone title from the band present on the Official Albums Streaming list, where it bumps up one spot to No. 17.
Linkin Park's sophomore effort Meteora may be present on only one ranking, but it still makes meaningful progress. The early-career win leaps four rungs to No. 33 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, which ranks the bestselling titles in those styles alone.

Art made from trash is treasured at San Francisco gallery exhibit
San Francisco artists are turning heads by turning rubbish into works worthy to be put on display at one of the city's most-renowned galleries. To most people, a dump is just a dump. But to Deena Qabazard, it's a full-service art supply store with a very flexible return policy. "Sometimes you look and you're like, 'No!' and then sometimes the unexpected car comes and you're like, 'Oh my goodness, fantastic!'" said Deena Qabazard, a Kuwaiti-American artist who has been mining the muck for years, looking to give old objects a new spark. On this particular morning, she scores a bracelet, a mirror, and a string of chandelier crystals, all ready for their second act. Back in her studio, those finds turn into collages of metal, textiles, and photographs, much of it pulled straight from the dump. "Now I'm kind of just playing around compositionally, what it looks like," Qabazard said. As climate concerns take center stage, repurposed art is getting more wall space and less side-eye from the art world. Exhibit A: The latest show from the city's garbage collector, Recology, which for 35 years has run an artist-in-residence program, now on display at the city's famed Minnesota Street Project. Deborah Munk, who runs the program, said 99% of the materials are what is referred to as upcycled. "Artists have been using trash for a long time, but maybe for different reasons because they couldn't afford it. But now, with all the environmental issues we're dealing with, it's becoming more apparent," Munk said. From self-portraits made with discarded mirrors and the artist's own hair, to installations built from pool floats left high and dry, and even one of Qabazard's earlier pieces, a weathered photograph, surrounded by scraps, all pulled from the city's trash and meant to reframe how we see beauty. "It's really important for younger generations to see we can reuse things and transform them, how they can expand our imagination," Qabazard said. The Recology San Francisco Artist in Residence exhibit runs through August 30 at Minnesota Street Project.

Salma Hayek pays tribute to late 'Fools Rush In' costar Matthew Perry on his birthday: 'Thinking of you today'
The "Frida" actress shared memories from her onscreen romance with the "Friends" star on what would have been his 56th birthday. Salma Hayek is remembering her late rom-com costar, Matthew Perry. The Frida actress shared a tribute to her Fools Rush In castmate in an Instagram post on Tuesday, which would have been the Friends star's 56th birthday. "Thinking of you today Matthew," Hayek wrote in her caption, alongside the Spanish translation, "Pensando en ti hoy, Matthew." The post featured a still of Perry and Hayek (who was clutching a small dog) from the 1997 film, as well as a short clip from the movie in which Isabel (Hayek) brings her new boyfriend Alex (Perry) to a large family gathering. "This is a family dinner?" Alex asks upon seeing the size of the party. "I guess a lot of people couldn't make it," Isabel responds. Hayek previously memorialized her late costar, who died in October 2023 from the acute effects of ketamine, shortly after his passing. "Two days ago, I woke up to the shocking news that Matthew Perry is no longer with us. It's taken me a couple of days to process this profound sadness," Hayek wrote on Instagram at the time. "There is a special bond that happens when you share dreams with someone, and together you work towards them." Fools Rush In tells the story of a New York architect and a Nevada photographer who share a whirlwind romance after a one-night stand leads to an unplanned pregnancy. In his 2022 memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry remembered Hayek frequently sharing a "very elaborate and lengthy idea" about how they should approach their scenes together, but noted that "her long-winded ideas weren't always helpful" in the end. "There's one scene in which I'm professing my love for her," Perry recalled in his memoir. "She suggested that we don't look at each other — rather, we should look out at our future together. After listening to this nonsense for about twenty minutes, I finally said: 'Listen, Salma,' I said, 'I'm telling you I love you in this scene. You look wherever you want, but I'm going to be looking at you.'"However, Perry remained fond of the project decades after its release, describing it as "probably my best movie" in his book. The actor said that he was particularly touched by advice he received from the film's director, Andy Tennant. "I was bouncing around doing my funny little things, and [Tennant] would take me aside and say, 'You don't have to do that. You're interesting enough to watch without doing that,'" Perry remembered in his book. "That line of thinking allowed him to pull out of me one of the best performances of my career. Could this be a different way of saying Matty, you're enough, the words I've been longing to hear my entire life?" Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Knebworth 2024 hint as Oasis star Noel Gallagher heaps praise on brother Liam
Noel Gallagher has given his inaugural interview since the commencement of the Oasis reunion tour, lauding his brother Liam for "smashing it" while confessing that his own legs "turned to jelly" on the opening night. He remained tight-lipped when questioned about the likelihood of the band performing at Knebworth next year, a milestone concert that many fans are eagerly anticipating and now hope might be possible. The 58 year old guitarist and Oasis songwriter chatted with his mates Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent on TalkSport about his favourite football team, Manchester City, before the conversation shifted to the monumental tour. This follows after Peggy Gallagher was spotted with a big star at an Oasis gig as she finally gets to see her sons' reunion tour. READ MORE: Nottingham Forest v Brentford player ratings as sensational duo on a different level in super win READ MORE: Nottingham Forest transfer need is clear but one move won't be beaten amid 'telepathic' beauty Regarding the reunion with Liam, Noel expressed: "I've been completely blown away. It's difficult to put into words. It's kind of every night is the crowd's first night, so every night has kinda got the same energy to it. But it's been truly amazing. I'm not usually short for words, but I can't really answer." Reflecting on the first night in Cardiff, the band's initial gig in nearly two decades, he added: "We're not really a band who kind of have huddles before we go on or anything like that.", reports the Mirror. "I can't speak for anywhere else, but for me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into. After about five minutes I was like can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again. "I don't mind telling you my legs went to jelly about halfway through the second song and I could have done with going back. It has been an amazing thing." Noel then shared some warm words about his brother Liam. The duo have made a habit of walking out hand-in-hand for every show in Dublin, Edinburgh, London, their hometown of Wembley, and the opening weekend in Cardiff. Speaking about their on-stage embraces, he said: "We are not those kinda guys. It is great just to be back with Bonehead and Liam and just be doing it again. I guess when it is all said and done we will reflect on it. It's good being back in the band with Liam, I forgot how funny he was!". Commenting on Liam's universally praised vocals, he said: "Liam is smashing it, I am proud of him. Having fronted a band for 16 years I know how hard that is. I couldn't do the stadium thing like he does, I have gotta say man I look at him and think 'good for you mate'." When asked about Knebworth or the end of the tour, Noel responded with a chuckle: "Lets talk about football." He discussed Manchester City's recent victory and expressed his excitement for Oasis' upcoming performance at the River Plate stadium in Argentina this November. He added: "It's the penultimate show, and we've played there a few times before. Without a doubt, Argentina is one of our top five favourite places to perform worldwide. "We are going to Toronto on Friday and then we're in the States for the best part of a month and then Mexico and then back for two more Wembleys. "When it all started there were a few people who I thought would come looking for tickets but after the first gig my phone exploded. Once they had seen it online there was a mad scramble for it." He confessed it was extraordinary to witness countless supporters outside the venues singing along to the performances and remarked: "Something else is happening that we haven't put our fingers on yet." Oasis are touring for the first time in 16 years and have now finished their UK and Ireland dates apart from two additional Wembley performances when they return from America. Tickets became available last year and triggered extraordinary demand. The concerts, which kicked off in Cardiff on July 4, have garnered glowing reviews across the board and generated emotional moments both amongst audiences and on stage.
