Naked Gun star Liam Neeson's cheeky dig at man-of-of-the-moment Pedro Pascal

Daily Mirror4 days ago
Liam Neeson joked about Last of Us star Pedro Pascal's packed work schedule, as the Taken actor made an appearance at an early screening of the reboot of 80s parody movie Naked Gun
The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal is one of the most prolific actors in Hollywood at the moment, with the Chilean-American actor about to take on one of his biggest roles to date in the new Marvel movie Fantastic Four.

And even Liam Neeson couldn't help himself, with the Naked Gun star making a cheeky dig about him at an early screening for his new movie.

Neeson, 73, is starring as Frank Drebin Jr in the 80s parody's reboot, which is out in cinemas today, with r eviewers hailing it a "masterclass". Speaking at the New York screening, a video of the star has done the rounds on social media.

Posted by entertainment reporter Jonathan Sim, the clips shows Neeson thanking his audience for going to see the movie. He jokes that the needs them to "please laugh out loud" at the funny moments. It comes after Taylor Swift sparks engagement rumours as fans spot Travis Kelce's lock screen
Neeson goes on to quip: "Spoiler alert: there's no zombies, no superheroes, and Pedro Pascal isn't in this movie," with fans laughing at his comment.
His joke highlights how Pascal's career seems to be going from strength to strength, with the 50-year-old cast in numerous new productions following 20 years of working his way up in smaller roles on TV and on stage.

Those roles however have included the lead in Netflix series Narcos as well as Star Wars series The Mandalorian and HBO's hit show The Last of Us. He has also featured in films such as Wonder Woman 1984, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Gladiator II.
This year, alongside Fantastic Four he will also feature in modern western Eddington as well as romantic comedy Materialists opposite Dakota Johnson. With his recent success, Parade magazine estimates his net worth at around $10 million.

But despite his high profile, Pascal has managed to keep his private life largely under wraps. He made headlines back in March after he was spotted getting close to former Friends star Jennifer Aniston.
The pair were spotted together in Los Angeles at a dinner that 'lasted three hours', as reported by The Mirror. They then spent the night at the Tower Bar at the Sunset Hotel in West Hollywood.
Aniston and Pascal arrived separately after 8pm and left in separate ways three hours later, in photos seen by Daily Mail. Both opted for casual outfits for the evening and soon parted ways after having a conversation outside the parking valet area.

Aniston and Pascal's dinner date comes amid speculation he might join her Apple TV series, The Morning Show. Despite the dating speculations, Pascal is thought to be single.
Meanwhile, Liam has been romantically linked to Pamela Anderson, although they too are keeping quiet about their relationship status. Neeson was married to British actress Natasha Richardson from 1994, until she tragically died in 2009 following a head injury.

The close bond between Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson has been the topic of conversation around the world as the pair continue to remain silent over whether or not they're in a relationship. But it looks as though the writing was on the wall as far back as last year when the Taken star declared his love for the former Baywatch icon.
In an interview with People magazine, Liam, 73, candidly confessed to being "madly in love" with the mum of two.
At the time, he told the publication: "With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her." He added: "She's just terrific to work with. I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film."

Pamela Anderson speaks out over claims Meghan Markle 'copied' her cooking show

The Baywatch star has broken her silence over claims that Meghan Markle's lifestyle programme was a direct copy of her cooking show that was released just weeks before Baywatch star Pamela Anderson has spoken out over claims that Meghan Markle 'copied' her cooking show. ‌ The allegations emerged when t he Duchess ' Netflix programme With Love, Meghan, was released in March this year, just one week after Pamela's show, titled Pamela's Cooking with Love, aired on Amazon. The premiere of Meghan's lifestyle show was pushed back by two months after the wildfires in California. ‌ Now, while promoting her new film The Naked Gun, in which she stars alongside Liam Neeson, Pamela was quizzed over the comparisons of their lifestyle shows. Appearing on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live programme, the show host addressed the viral accusations during a segment called Plead the Fifth. It comes after Meghan Markle's birthday 'gimmick' is quietly shelved after major mistake. ‌ Cohen asked Anderson: "On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela's Cooking with Love?" Anderson, who appeared surprised by the question, replied: 'One – I didn't'. Pressing her on the topic, Cohen again asked: 'One? On a scale from one to 10, you did not see any similarities?' ‌ Pamela answered with a laugh: 'No, I didn't really look, but I didn't invent cooking shows. She's just doing her thing." Fans of Anderson's programme were quick to point out the similarities between the two shows when they first aired, noting that Anderson and Meghan both filmed themselves in brightly lit country kitchens, smiling and laughing with guests, while cooking aspirational meals alongside photogenic friends and celebrities. In addition, both women were filmed carrying wicker baskets filled with fruit and vegetables from their gardens, dancing joyfully, and high-fiving their guests. Each series also ran for eight episodes. ‌ Anderson is not the only celebrity who Meghan's new lifestyle brand has been compared to, as online commentators have also likened Meghan's brand As Ever to similar projects by Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart. While Paltrow and Anderson have both been quick to shut down rumours of any beef between them and the Duchess of Sussex, Martha Stewart seemed to be a little more hesitant in her comments about Meghan. ‌ During an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle, Martha said of the Duchess: 'Meghan I don't really know very well, and I hope she knows what she's talking about.' 'Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.' Although a second season of With Love, Meghan is due to air later this year, recent reports have claimed that Meghan and Harry 's lucrative deal with Netflix will not be renewed when it expires in September. With Love, Meghan failed to break into Netflix's top 300 shows for the first half of 2025, and was outperformed by multiple seasons of the legal drama Suits, in which she starred before she met Prince Harry.
