All 6 episodes of 'compelling' mystery thriller are streaming now on Netflix
Another week, another thriller for fans to dig their teeth into, this time over on Netflix.
The French mystery series, Under A Dark Sun, has already entered the top 10 TV shows on the streamer, promising a 'heartfelt' and 'suspenseful' experience for viewers who tune into this six-episode drama.
The show follows runaway single mother Alba Mazier (Ava Baya) whose boss, Arnaud Lasserre (Thibault De Montalembert), is killed 'just hours into starting her new job'.
Now the main suspect, she becomes intertwined in a conspiracy full of 'deep-rooted secrets and morally grey decisions'.
'[When] her name mysteriously appears in his will, how far will she go to force the truth from his family?' the synopsis of the fast-paced miniseries concludes.

As teased by Time: 'What begins as a murder case quickly spirals into something much more complex: a dark family history full of hidden paternity, forced silence, and decades of manipulation.'
The series also stars two-time Oscar nominee Isabelle Adjani as the ill-fated Arnaud's wife, Beatrice.
The feel of the show has been compared to the likes of Harlan Coben's mystery thrillers, which have stirred up a storm on the streaming platform with huge viewership for adaptations like Fool Me Once and Missing You.
'There's a lot to like about Under A Dark Sun, like Baya's intensity as Alba and Adjani's insouciant performance as Beatrice, who seems so unfazed by Arnaud's death that she wears a pink suit to his funeral and reads a eulogy she created with ChatGPT.
The Devil's Leap on Channel 4: When a former special forces father takes his daughter on a hike, their bonding opportunity soon takes a turn for the worse when they witness a murder – and are soon being pursued by a gang.
La Fortuna on ITVX: Stanley Tucci stars in this Spanish-American adventure drama based on an incredible true story about a diplomat 'leading a team of treasure hunters'.
The Glass Dome on Netflix: This Swedish drama follows a criminologist who returns to her small hometown and 'becomes wrapped up in the investigation of a missing girl and its haunting similarities to her own childhood abduction'.
'That back and forth between these two very opposite characters should drive the tension in this series,' Decider wrote in a review.
The Review Geek pointed out the show's sometimes clunky plotting but added: 'Under a Dark Sun is an easy binge with strong performances, a compelling lead, and just enough intrigue to carry you through.'
Over on IMDb, user zeksozen called it a 'tense and intriguing' and said it was 'a hidden gem for those who enjoy European crime dramas with a moody, cinematic style'.
Proceed with caution, however, as not all the reviews have been glowing, with some calling it a 'weird' storyline filled with sometimes 'unnecessary twists'. More Trending
You'll have to tune in to decide whether it's down your alley.
There's a growing market for European thrillers in the UK, with plenty of options if you find yourself hooked after this one.
Just last week, Channel 4 added a French survival thriller, The Devil's Leap, which followed a father-daughter duo on a hiking trip gone wrong.

'Hidden treasure' music biopic finally arrives on Amazon Prime Video
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A stunning biopic, branded a 'hidden treasure' by impressed fans, has finally landed on Amazon Prime Video. Better Man hit the big screen last December, and focused on music icon Robbie Williams' rise to superstardom. However, in a surprise move, the Angels singer was portrayed by a CGI monkey while everyone else in the movie was human – a decision by director Michael Gracey that left baffled moviegoers around the world. Despite the confusion, many praised the movie, hailing it as 'one of the best biopics' ever made. The film has now arrived on streaming and is available to watch on Amazon Prime, for those who didn't manage to catch the cinema release. Better Man currently boasts a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score from the audience, compared to a critics ranking of 89%. Commending the flick, Maria L wrote: 'A movie that will have you crying, laughing, and dancing! This movie is a hidden treasure and should truly be seen by everyone!! One of the best movies of 2024.' Marianne E agreed: 'One of the best biopics I've seen in a long time, very touching, made me cry a lot.' 'BRILLIANT. A true masterpiece and like nothing you've ever seen,' AE J said. 'I am a fan of Williams but even a nondevotee would leave appreciating what an absolute marvel this film is, from the music, the epic dance numbers and the acting this biopic is a stunning exploration into the depths of self-loathing to redemption. Lovely.' Ker M added: 'It is rare to see a modern movie with such an incomprehensible degree of creativity embedded into every frame. 'While my faith in modern film is at an all-time low, works of genius like Better Man give me renewed vigor and hope. This is a MUST see. Will clearly become a cult classic in years to come, box office be darned.' With many questions over the monkey's involvement, Robbie previously shed light on why he was portrayed by a CGI animal in a chat with Metro while at the premiere. 'I didn't know that I'd have to explain it, but obviously [I do],' he told us. 'Because it's unusual, right? That's the thing. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'I'm on the spectrum, so things that are unusual to me, aren't that unusual – I don't pick up on those sorts of cues. I don't know where I am on the spectrum, by the way, I just know I am.' 'It shouldn't work but it actually works better than if it was me. I don't know why,' he added. 'It made complete sense to me as soon as [Gracey] pitched it to me'. 'I don't know if this film would be as talked about if it hadn't had the monkey in it. And it does, and it has. And it all makes sense when you see it.' Although it wasn't a box office smash in the US, Robbie previously shared his hopes that we could get a sequel very soon. More Trending In a chat with Australian DJ Sean Brown, the Rock DJ icon said in January: 'There is so much that didn't make the movie. 'Only because we couldn't fit it in – not because I was too embarrassed or ashamed to put it in… many stories. It would have had to be a five-hour film to fit everything in. 'And hopefully it does good and there is a Better Man 2.' Better Man is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now. Got a story? This kid, 4, features in Oasis' reunion tour alongside Scottish town
Oscar Borland features in the official programme for the rock and roll band, who recently returned to the stage for the first time in 16 years. The Gallagher brothers are playing to sold-out arenas across the globe and the four-year-old will feature in the pamphlet at all gigs. READ NEXT: Fontaines D.C. fans are all wearing this ONE thing to TRNSMT READ NEXT: I saw Jake Bugg at TRNSMT - he should have been on the Main Stage The picture was taken in Erskine earlier this year (Image: Supplied) Raymond, Oscar's dad, explained how the opportunity came about. He said: "I have been a huge Oasis fan ever since I can remember. From 1996 onwards I was hooked. "As I have gotten older, and during the time period when the band had broken up, I have been really into collecting Oasis memorabilia. "As a result of this obsession, I got to know Brian Cannon, who designed a lot of things for the band at their peak, such as album covers. "We became good friends after I started going to his shop Mircobot Boutique, down south in Kendal, which sells merchandise from the band and other groups." The programme is currently available for sale at the gigs (Image: Supplied) Despite his age, Raymond says his son realises something exciting is happening. He also opened up on the meaning behind Oscar's picture in the programme. Raymound continued: "Brian knew there would not be any new music on this tour and wanted to design the programme like an album cover, with 20 pages to fill. "The idea he came up with was to base the pictures in the programme around B-side songs that some fans think should have been singles. "I jokingly said about getting Oscar involved and amazingly it ended up happening. "Oasis have a song called Fade Away and the lyrics Brian referred to were 'The dreams we have as children fade away.' "Oscar was photographed on a football pitch in Erskine, throwing the Definitely Maybe Globe in the air and a flight case with Oasis on it beside him, the idea being he was dreaming of being in the band. "Noel Gallagher had the final say and he signed it off." Oscar was "very excited" to appear in the programme (Image: Supplied) Oasis will play three gigs at Murrayfield next month and Raymond, who will be attending two of the concerts with friends, and family, can't wait to see the programme in person. He added: "The family are all so proud of Oscar and he was brilliant throughout the shoot. "I didn't want to see the finished product until it was confirmed Oscar would be in the programme. "I am really happy with how it turned out and can't wait to buy it at the gigs."

Ant and Dec teen drama Byker Grove to return to screens in ITV streaming deal
The teen drama, which ran between 1989 and 2006 on BBC One, is currently available to watch for free on STV Player and will be made available on ITVX later this year. Craig Morris, managing editor of ITV Channels and ITVX, said: 'We are so excited to bring this iconic coming-of-age series to ITVX, marking the first TV appearances of two ITV stalwarts. 'Relive all the great moments with us later this year.' The show also launched the careers of actors Jill Halfpenny and Donna Air, and followed the lives and relationships of young people at a youth club called the Grove in the Byker area of Newcastle. Byker Grove was known for tackling social issues, such as drug addiction, child abuse, homophobia and abortion, and in 1994, the series featured what is thought to be the first gay kiss on UK children's TV, when character Noddy Fishwick kissed Gary Hendrix at the back of a cinema. McPartlin and Donnelly played PJ and Duncan respectively in the series, and went on to enjoy chart success under their characters' names with eight UK top 20 singles, including the number one Let's Get Ready To Rhumble. The show was also the starting point for former writer Catherine Johnson, who went on to pen hit musical Mamma Mia!, and Tom Hooper, who directed episodes of the show in 1997 and went on to win an Oscar for best director for his work on The King's Speech. The show being made available for streaming comes as part of a deal with McPartlin and Donnelly's production company Mitre Studios, which owns the rights to the series. As well as hosting ITV talent show Britain's Got Talent, the pair have also presented I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway since leaving Byker Grove.
