Considered a trusted officer of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Roopam was a competitive shooter before joining the Indian Administrative Service.
Verma, a 2011‑batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer, earlier served as Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) in Noida Authority briefly until May 2017 and held posts as Chief Development Officer in Mathura and Pratapgarh before being appointed as the DM of Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Prayagraj DM Ravindra Kumar Mandar has been moved to Ghaziabad as the new district magistrate. Mandar, a 2012‑batch IAS officer, was the DM of Jaunpur and then Prayagraj, where he was entrusted with overseeing major events, including the Prayagraj Kumbh.

A 2011‑batch IAS officer and alumnus of IIT Kharagpur (Electrical Engineering), Meena served as Ghaziabad DM for approximately six months from January 19, 2025. He was praised for handling Kanvar Yatra safely in 2025, and conducting frequent public hearings.
His recent responsibilities included leading a high‑level probe into the Prateek Grand City sewage flooding incident, appointed by the Meerut division commissioner to investigate illegal drain diversion and procedural lapses.
Meena also organised the Integrated Control Room & surveillance covering 200 CCTV cameras during the Kanwar Yatra and deployed 750 civil defence volunteers to manage pilgrims across critical stretches near Dudheshwarnath Temple.
Krishna Karunesh, who previously served as the district magistrate of Gorakhpur, has been appointed as ACEO, Noida Authority.
As Gorakhpur DM, Karunesh played a pivotal role in securing a landmark MoU for the major expansion of Gorakhpur Airport, overseeing a project that will boost passenger capacity from 270 to 2,500 per hour and enable up to 200 daily flights.

Lucknow: ED raids in money laundering case against ex-U.P. Invest CEO, others
The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday (August 7, 2025) conducted searches in the city as part of a money laundering probe against suspended IAS officer and former Invest Uttar Pradesh CEO Abhishek Prakash, an alleged middleman Nikant Jain and some others, official sources said. Four premises linked to Mr. Jain, who allegedly asked for a bribe on behalf of Mr. Prakash, are being searched in the city under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), they said. Apart from Mr. Jain's home in Viram Khand, Gomti Nagar, two premises registered as offices of companies related to him and his family members are being searched. The fourth is a hotel where his family members are common directors, they said. Mr. Jain was arrested earlier by the Uttar Pradesh Police as part of this case investigation. Mr. Prakash, a 2006-batch IAS officer, was suspended in March this year by the Uttar Pradesh government after an investor in the solar industry lodged a complaint alleging that Mr. Jain demanded a commission to facilitate approvals for projects. Invest U.P. is the State's investment promotion agency, aiming to attract and facilitate investments. Mr. Prakash was serving as its CEO. Mr. Jain was arrested for allegedly demanding money from an entrepreneur for clearing his proposal with the help of Invest U.P. functionaries, officials said earlier. According to the police FIR, an industrial group had applied for setting up a solar manufacturing units in the State through Invest U.P. The case was reviewed by an evaluation committee after which a senior Invest UP official directed the applicant to contact Mr. Jain. Mr. Jain allegedly demanded a 5% commission (bribe) to facilitate approvals from the Empowered Committee and the State Cabinet pressuring the applicant to pay an advance, as per the police. When the applicant refused to comply, Mr. Jain allegedly told him the project would not move forward without his involvement, suggesting bureaucratic hurdles were deliberately created to extract bribes, the FIR stated.

LIVE news updates: ED raids in Lucknow in case against ex-UP Invest CEO
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that India will never compromise on the interests of its farmers and dairy sector, and declared he was prepared to bear a significant personal cost if necessary. The statement came a day after Trump ratcheted up tariffs on Indian goods to 50 per cent, even as the two nations discuss a bilateral trade deal. The trade deal has been struck over the US demand for greater access to India's agricultural and dairy market. It wants reduced tariffs on products like corn, soybeans, apples, almonds and ethanol, as well as increased access for US dairy products. New Delhi is, however, resisting these demands as these will have a direct bearing on farmers. The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday conducted searches here in connection with a money laundering case against suspended IAS officer and former Invest Uttar Pradesh CEO Abhishek Prakash, official sources said. Four premises linked to alleged middleman Nikant Jain, who allegedly asked for a bribe on behalf of Prakash, are being searched in the city under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), they said.
