Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his engagement to long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez after nine years together.
Rodriguez, 31, shared the news on Instagram on Monday with a photograph showing a large diamond ring on her finger, resting on the hand of the Portugal football star, 40.
She captioned the image: 'Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.' The couple have two daughters together - Alana, 7, and Bella, 3 - while Bella's twin brother Angel died during birth.
Rodriguez has also helped raise Ronaldo's other three children - Cristiano Jr, 15, and twins Mateo and Eva Maria, both 8. The pair met in 2016 when Rodriguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid.
Speaking about their first meeting, she previously said: 'I was finally able to leave the shop to go home three hours later than I should have, and as I was getting ready to leave Cristiano came in with his eldest son and some friends.
'Let's just say it was butterflies in my stomach.' The family are now based in Riyadh, where Ronaldo plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
Rodriguez had posted her engagement update from the Saudi capital.

It's a big thing and should be to lead this wonderful club out on the pitch, not just for this Super Cup, but also throughout the season. 'I think he has all the right qualities. He leads from his behaviour on the pitch, driving the team forward in every way and outside the pitch he's always pushing the team. 'I want a leadership group as well. Of course, one will wear the armband and be the captain, but I would like to have as many leaders as possible, four to five in the leadership group who can help, because it's the same with me, I can't do everything on my own and need a superb coaching staff around me. 'I will name that leadership group after the window to give me time to assess everything.' Romero is only Tottenham's third captain of the last decade after Hugo Lloris held the role for eight years between 2015 and 2023. Son picked up the baton under Frank's predecessor Ange Postecoglou. Injuries affected Son in the 2024-25 campaign and Guglielmo Vicario, Romero and James Maddison were all given the armband at various points. Postecoglou frequently talked up the leadership qualities of World Cup winner Romero, who has been at the club since 2022. It was Romero who started as captain for Spurs' 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final and he also wore the armband for both legs of their semi-final wins against Bodo/Glimt and the quarter-final away triumph at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Maddison vows to bounce back from ACL misery
PA Media/dpa London Heartbroken Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has vowed to come back from the 'lowest low' after he had successful reconstruction surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Maddison suffered a serious knee injury during Spurs' pre-season friendly with Newcastle in Seoul on August 3. It occurred months after a different knee issue ruled Maddison out of Tottenham's Europa League final triumph over Manchester United in May and despite being set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines during a World Cup year, the 28-year-old promised to silence those who 'mock' his misfortune. 'Lowest low I've ever had,' Spurs vice-captain Maddison said on X along with a picture of him on a hospital bed surrounded by his three children. 'Heartbroken at the fact this injury has occurred at this time in my career. With the Super Cup tomorrow, the Premier League season on the horizon, the exciting Champions League campaign and it being a World Cup year for England it all feels very very cruel but nevertheless the ACL reconstruction surgery was successful. 'To all my close friends and family, your support and love means absolutely everything to me. 'To those of you who have gone out of your way to message on social media platforms in support of me and my recovery even when we don't know each other personally, I appreciate you all more than you'll ever know so thank you. 'And lastly to those of you who doubt, hate and mock. You truly motivate me to levels I didn't know I had inside of me so again, thank you. See you all on the other side.' Maddison is expected to be sidelined for around nine months, but it may take up to a year and a half for the seven-cap England international to return to his previous best level - after he scored 12 times in 45 appearances for Spurs in the 2024-25 campaign. Sports scientist Dr Rajpal Brar, who runs 3cb Performance rehab centres in Los Angeles and Valencia, told the PA news agency: 'This is typically an eight- to nine-month return to play process for elite footballers but also depends on the full extent of the injury. 'For return to pre-injury levels, I'm typically looking around the 18-month mark.'

Former PL referee banned for 8-weeks over Klopp comment
PA Media/dpa London Former Premier League referee David Coote has been given an eight-week suspension and told to attend an education programme over abusive words he used about ex-Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp. Coote was charged by the Football Association in June after the comments about Klopp came to light in a video circulated on social media last November. The FA said he had subsequently admitted the charge. Coote's misconduct was defined as an aggravated breach under the FA's rules because there was a reference to Klopp's nationality. Coote was sacked by Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) last December, a month after the video filmed in July 2020 came to light. Coote was banned by European football's governing body UEFA in February until June 30, 2026 after a different video emerged of him snorting a white powder through a bank note while in Germany for last summer's Euros.
