Axis Max Life launches BSE 500 Value 50 Index Fund to drive long-term capital growth

VMPL
New Delhi [India], July 29: Axis Max Life Insurance Ltd. ("Axis Max Life" / "Company"), formerly known as Max Life Insurance Company Limited, announces the launch of its innovative new fund offer (NFO), the BSE 500 Value 50 Index Fund. This passively managed equity fund, available exclusively through the company's Unit Linked Insurance Plans (ULIPs) like Smart Term with Additional Returns (STAR) ULIP & Flexi Wealth Advantage Plan (FWAP) and Online Savings Plan (OSP), offers policyholders a unique opportunity to invest in India's top value companies while benefiting from inherent life cover. This NFO is available for a limited period from July 28 to August 10, 2025.
The BSE 500 Value 50 Index Fund is designed to select the top 50 companies from the broader BSE 500 index based on rigorous value parameters. This unique value factor-based index fund strategically identifies undervalued stocks with strong potential for long-term capital appreciation.
The selection process relies on three key financial ratios that signal potential undervaluation: the Book-to-Price Ratio, where a high ratio indicates a company's strong intrinsic worth (its assets less liabilities) relative to its market value; the Earnings-to-Price Ratio, where a high ratio suggests strong profitability compared to the market price; and the Sales-to-Price Ratio, where a high ratio reflects significant sales generation relative to market value. These metrics collectively help identify fundamentally strong yet undervalued companies poised for long-term growth. By combining these three financial ratios, the fund offers a holistic overview of a company's value across assets, profitability, and revenue, avoiding overreliance on any single metric.
Sachin Bajaj, Executive Vice President & Chief Investment Officer, Axis Max Life, stated, "In an evolving market landscape, the enduring principles of value investing offer a compelling path to long-term wealth creation. By focusing on fundamentally strong yet undervalued companies, the BSE 500 Value 50 Index Fund aims to provide superior risk-adjusted returns over long-term with the protective benefits of our ULIPs. This New Fund Offer represents a unique opportunity for discerning investors to align their portfolios with companies poised for sustained growth, without overconcentration on any single stock or sector."
Customers can take advantage of this limited-time NFO period to align their portfolios with a diversified basket of 50 robust, undervalued companies across various sectors and market capitalizations, thereby mitigating single-stock or sector overconcentration.

Securing Tomorrow: The True Meaning of Independence

Bengaluru Independence Day isn't just about flags in the wind and patriotic songs in the air—it's about the quiet, personal freedoms we want for our families every single day. The freedom to dream without limits. The freedom to live without fear of 'what if.' The freedom to know that, come what may, they'll be secure. And in today's uncertain world, life insurance is more than just a policy—it's a quiet promise that their future will always have a safety net. Freedom Beyond the Present Earning a steady income and providing for our family may feel like freedom—but what if life takes an unexpected turn? Without a safety net, the very people we work so hard to protect could face financial strain. Life insurance ensures your family's independence doesn't rely solely on your presence or ability to earn. It turns freedom from a momentary state into a lasting legacy. With the right plan in place, you create a protective cushion—one that allows your loved ones to maintain their lifestyle, pursue long-term goals, and honour commitments, even if you're no longer there. The Right Products for Lasting Security Life insurance offers solutions for every stage of life and every kind of need: • Term Insurance The simplest and most affordable form of life cover. Term plans provide a substantial lump sum to your family in case of your untimely demise—offering high coverage at low premiums. This makes it the foundation of any secure financial plan. • ULIPs (Unit Linked Insurance Plans) Combining life cover with market-linked investments, ULIPs help grow wealth while protecting your family. With options to invest in equity, debt, or balanced funds, ULIPs offer flexibility and the potential for long-term growth. • Savings or Endowment Plans Perfect for those seeking disciplined savings with guaranteed returns. These plans provide both protection and a built-up corpus for milestones like a child's education, buying a home, or planning retirement. Live Fully Today Perhaps the most underrated benefit of life insurance is the mental freedom it brings. Knowing your family's future is protected allows you to live more fully in the present. You can chase passions, take calculated career risks, and focus on personal growth without the constant 'what if' in the back of your mind. This peace of mind extends beyond you—it empowers your loved ones, too. They can move forward with confidence, dignity, and without fear, secure in the knowledge that their future is safeguarded. Freedom for Generations By securing tomorrow with life insurance today, you're doing more than protecting finances—you're giving your family the strength to live with dignity, courage, and independence. Just as our nation's freedom was built on foresight and sacrifice, your decision today can become the foundation of your loved ones' secure future. This Independence Day, celebrate not just the freedom we inherited, but the freedom we can create—for our families, for generations to come.

Jio BlackRock debut powers record July inflows in mutual fund NFOs

Mutual funds (MFs) recorded bumper inflows from fund launches in July, led by the debut offerings of JioBlackRock MF. Thirty schemes completed their new fund offering (NFO) period last month, mobilising a total of ₹30,416 crore. Debt NFOs were the largest contributors, with five schemes drawing nearly ₹19,000 crore. This included ₹17,800 crore raised by three of JioBlackRock MF's debut funds — Overnight, Liquid, and Money Market. 'Inflows in the liquid and money market segments were bolstered by launches — JioBlackRock Liquid Fund (₹8,917 crore) and JioBlackRock Money Market Fund (₹6,285 crore) — which garnered sizeable investments and contributed meaningfully to July's strong headline flows,' said Nehal Meshram, senior research analyst at Morningstar India. The July NFO mopup went past the previous high of ₹22,769 crore achieved in August 2021. The NFO pipeline for the coming months is strong. Since July, fund houses have filed with the Securities and Exchange Board of India for nearly 50 NFOs, including 10 active equity and hybrid funds, which tend to attract higher investor interest at launch. Plans are also in place for fund-of-funds schemes, which invest across multiple funds — a segment seeing greater traction after taxation changes in 2024. A few of these have already hit the market in recent weeks. The pickup in NFOs and collections also lifted overall MF inflows in July. Equity MF inflows surged to a record ₹42,702 crore, with NFOs accounting for about ₹9,000 crore. Total inflows across equity, debt, hybrid, and passive schemes reached ₹1.8 trillion. According to analysts, the revival in NFO activity and broader inflows has brightened the outlook for MFs. 'We expect inflow momentum to pick up pace further in the near term and sustain the healthy levels in the medium term, led by higher retail participation, better investor understanding of market volatility, and rising investment discipline, along with incrementally higher inflows from B30 cities. We remain optimistic over the mid- to long-term horizon amid improving geographic penetration and the rising popularity of MFs, mainly among younger and mid-income investors,' InCred Equities said in a note.

Australia casino operator Star revives 50% asset sale to HK investors

Troubled Australian casino company Star Entertainment said on Tuesday it had revived a sidelined deal with its Hong Kong-based partners to sell a half stake of its A$3.6 billion ($2.35 billion) Brisbane resort, sending its shares soaring. ADVERTISEMENT Star is selling its interest for A$53 million, of which A$45 million was paid in March. The company had cautioned that it risks collapse owing to a perfect storm of heightened regulation, lack of tourists and elevated living costs. The cash helps Star service substantial debt that it racked up converting its Brisbane property to much fanfare. Talks broke down on August 1 after investors Far East Consortium and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises - both seeking to exit the joint venture - refused Star's request to extend negotiations. On Tuesday, Star said the investors had now agreed to a sale on terms broadly similar to the original proposal. It did not say why the Asian companies agreed to resurrect the talks. ADVERTISEMENT Far East Consortium and Chow Tai Fook were not immediately available for comment. Far East's Hong Kong-listed shares were paused. Unlock 500+ Stock Recos on App Shares of Star were up 32% by midsession, against a flat overall market, bouncing from a near-record low after the company announced the reprieve. ADVERTISEMENT After the talks fell apart, Star began returning the A$45 million which the investors had already paid. The money Star paid back would now be returned, the casino operator said. Star will also take two-thirds of two Gold Coast hotels under construction from the Hong Kong shareholders, and will retain its rights to any future development at the Gold Coast operations, it said. ADVERTISEMENT The company is expected to report annual financial results on August 28. ($1 = 1.5349 Australian dollars). (You can now subscribe to our ETMarkets WhatsApp channel)
