Zaraah Abrahams, 38, is currently starring as Chelsea Fox in the BBC soap.
But viewers have been stunned after learning of Zaraah's past role in Corrie.
She played Joanne Jackson from 2005 until ultimately departing in 2007.
Taking to X, a fan wrote: "Just flicked onto #ClassicCorrie. OMG I didn't know Zaraah Abrahams ( Chelsea Fox in #EastEnders) was on Classic Corrie."
A third shared: "I cannot believe you did not know. Surely!
"She also starred in Waterloo Road after she left Weatherfield."
Joanne was introduced to Corrie alongside "twin sister" Jessie (Nailah Cumberbatch) - later revealed to be her cousin.
She had relationships with Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), Jamie Baldwin (Rupert Hill) and Liam Connor (Robert-James Collier).
The character left having been paid £5,000 by Carla Connor (Alison King) for her silence amid a legal dispute.
Zaraah joined the cast of EastEnders in 2020, becoming the second actress to play Chelsea.
She succeeded Tiana Benjamin, who originated the role from 2006 to 2010.
Speaking at the time of her casting, Zaraah said: "I am so excited to be joining such an iconic show and I am really looking forward to taking on the role of Chelsea Fox."
It's not the first time fans have spotted the actress pop up in another show.
Fans were floored after spotting a pre-famous Zaraah in legendary CITV kids' show, Jungle Run.
A fan shared a TikTok clip from the kids programme on a Facebook EastEnders fan page.
In the video, Zaraah participates in Jungle Run alongside two friends.
The fan captioned the post: "Just saw this. It's Chelsea playing Jungle Run back in 2005,' along with a laughing face emoji.
Soap characters who've been recast
Soap operas are staple viewing for many people, but even some of the most famous characters have been played by different actors. Here are some examples from over the years.
Coronation Street
Tracy Barlow: Kate Ford took on the role of Corrie legend Tracy Barlow in 2002. Before Kate, three other actresses had played Tracy - most notably Dawn Acton from 1988 to 1999.
Nick Tilsley: Ben Price has been playing Gail's oldest child in 2009, but the former Footballers' Wives star is the third actor to take on the part.
Sarah Platt: Although Tina O'Brien debuted as Sarah Platt in 1999, she is the third actress who has played the iconic role of Sarah Platt.
David Platt: Completing the line-up of Gail's children, David was initially played by Thomas Ormson for a decade before Jack P. Shepherd took over.
Daniel Osbourne: For almost a decade, the role of Ken Barlow's son Daniel has been portrayed by actor Rob Mallard. Before Rob joined, two other actors had previously played Daniel.
Bethany Platt: Fans know Lucy Fallon as Bethany nowadays but before her, three other actresses had stepped into the character's shoes.
Kirk Sutherland: Before Andy Whyment took on the role of Kirk, he played by an uncredited actor in his very first appearance.
Todd Grimshaw: Gareth Pierce stepped into the role of Todd back in 2020, becoming the second performer to play this part.
Summer Spellman: Harriet Bibby became the second actress to play Summer, taking over the role from Matilda Freeman in 2020.
Ryan Connor: Ryan Prescott currently plays the long-running character, but Ben Thompson and Sol Heras had earlier portrayed the role.
EastEnders
Martin Fowler: Although Martin was the first baby born on-screen in EastEnders, he hasn't always been played by the same person. His current portrayer, James Bye, is the third actor to star as the character.
Peter Beale: Seven actors have portrayed Ian Beale's elder son, with the current actor, Thomas Law, in his second stint as the character.
Ben Mitchell: Ben has been played by a total of six actors - with Max Bowden bowing out of the role in March 2024.
Bobby Beale: Before Clay Milner Russell, Ian's younger son had been played by four other actors.
Freddie Slater: Bobby's best mate, Freddie Slater, had been previously played by twins Alex and Tom Kilby before Bobby Brazier took over in 2022.
Chelsea Fox: Former Coronation Street actress Zaraah Abrahams took over the role of Chelsea in 2020. The character had been first played by Tiana Benjamin from 2006 to 2010.
Lauren Branning: Jacqueline Jossa took on the role of Lauren in 2010, succeeding Madeline Duggan who'd played her from 2006 to 2010.
Johnny Carter: Johnny has been played by three actors since debuting in 2013 - most recently, Charlie Suff has taken on the role.
Fans were stunned and took to the comments section to share their disbelief.

Strictly Come Dancing 'brings in police' as scandals swarm ahead of new series
Reality dance series Strictly Come Dancing has been hit by yet another scandal (Picture: BBC) The BBC has reportedly asked the police to investigate Strictly Come Dancing amid fresh allegations after claims two of its stars used cocaine. The corporation is said to have alerted the Metropolitan Police to new allegations about the hit dance competition show, the details of which have not been specified, according to The Sun on Sunday. Earlier this week, a longtime worker claimed they were offered drugs by a star on the show. The BBC reality series reportedly launched an external probe to investigate cocaine use by two stars earlier this month, as well as claims that a star was drinking on the show. The whistleblower who worked behind-the-scenes on the show for a decade until 2023 has said he witnessed 'partying at Elsetree studio after live filming. The worker, who accuses an unnamed star of offering them cocaine, added that the cast and crew were 'drinking and taking drugs', with bags of white powder suspected to be cocaine found in a smoking area and the men's toilet on two separate occasions. The show has been plagued by scandals in recent weeks (Picture: PA) The cocaine use allegations were reportedly made in a legal submission by law firm Russells in March on behalf of former contestant Wynne Evans (Picture: BBC/PA Wire) A BBC spokesperson has told Metro it does not comment on police investigations. The latest scandal comes after two former professionals Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima were removed from the show (and replaced) after behavioural accusations from former partners were revealed. Welsh opera singer Wynne Evans, 53, was also sensationally dumped from the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour over inappropriate comments. In addition to this, the recent addition of Thomas Skinner to the cast has also been widely criticised. The scandal-hit show was the subject of a review in 2024, when the BBC looked into allegations of bullying and harassment against Pernice by his former dance partner Amanda Abbington. The corporation upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made – and introduced a series of new measures aimed at improving welfare. This included the introduction of a chaperone who is present 'at all times' during training room rehearsals. The new series of Strictly is fast approaching, with it launching on September 20 (Picture: PA) It was alleged Di Prima 'kicked and hit' his 2023 partner Zara McDermott while they were rehearsing for the show. Di Prima said he 'deeply regrets the actions' that led to his departure from Strictly. 'My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime,' he admitted. EastEnders star James Borthwick was also suspended from the BBC after a video emerged of the actor using a disabled slur on the set of the dance programme. The cocaine use allegations were reportedly made in a legal submission by law firm Russells in March on behalf of former contestant Wynne Evans, who was dropped by the BBC after apologising for using 'inappropriate language' during the launch of the Strictly tour. It is understood that the BBC often appoints external law firms to help it lead investigations. The BBC spokesperson previously said: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for comment. Got a story? Where Changing Rooms' Handy Andy is now from marriage to unrecognisable new look
Handy Andy - real name Andy Kane - was a hugely popular member of the Changing Rooms team with viewers. But what has he been up to since he left the show in 2004? Popular 90s DIY show Changing Rooms was a firm favourite on our screens, but the cast look very different to nowadays. Viewers of the BBC show tuned in weekly to see the team take on some major home transformations, making the stars of the show household names in the process. Hosted by Carol Smillie, Changing Rooms drew in a whopping 10 million viewers at its peak on BBC One and created some iconic moments - who can forget when a £6,000 teapot collection was destroyed in one fell swoop by a floating shelf in series 8? Designers Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Linda Barker, and Anna Ryder Richardson were the ones tasked with helping members of the public transform a room in someone else's house - be it a friend, family member or neighbour. And then to help them make it a reality, the show's handyman, Handy Andy (Andy Kane) swooped in. DIY expert Andy appeared on the show from 1996-2004 and was a key player in the transformation process. But what has he been up to in the years since? After the show ended, Andy landed a role on the American version of the programme, named Trading Spaces, and he also presented three shows for UK Style, Room Rival , Garden Rivals and Streetcombers. READ MORE: Dancing on Ice's biggest scandals - from headbanger horror to bullying allegations One of his biggest programmes was Increase Your House Price By Ten Grand, which saw Andy work with a team to increase a house's value by £10,000 in just three days with a £1,000 budget. Andy has also appeared on I'm Famous And Frightened, Cirque de Celebrite and The Adam And Joe Show, and he has hosted a number of BBC Primary Geography programmes since 2008. He is happily married to his wife Geraldine and together they have four children. Andy was a popular member of the team and the chatty Cockney proved to be a big hit with viewers too. While he frequently impressed with his DIY, it didn't always go to plan, and he later spoke about his most major mishap - when the teapot collection was destroyed. Designer Linda had commissioned a floating shelf to house them but weighed it down with heavy books, causing the shelf to collapse overnight. Andy told the Metro: "It went wrong because they put too much weight on it. The shelf was obviously just for show and just the teapots on it would have been fine, but then they started loading up with books at the bottom. "I did say at the time that books are very heavy but they carried on and you know, it's one of them things. When it happened, it was really, really awful, everyone felt really bad, but now you just laugh about it. But it was good entertainment, wasn't it? "In other episodes of the show they'd mount chairs on the wall or hang chairs from ceilings and as a builder, you're like 'really?!', but that's interior design for you."
