Following his first performance of the NFL Preseason, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has been gaining a lot of support from fans and analysts based on what he put on display.
Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel broke down some film of Dart's debut and pointed to the promising signs the former Ole Miss star showed during his first set of action.
"Watch Jaxson Dart right here, watch his left hand, check to this. Look at that, we didn't see that. That's what I'm talking about, he checked to it. He checked to this go route, a perfectly thrown football. That's what I'm talking about," Daniel said, reviewing Dart's first touchdown throw at the NFL level.
"Big time," he continued. "Calling your own shot, getting smoked, throwing a freaking touchdown like this. Not a great rep by 63. Hey, sometimes, you know what? You're gonna get hit, get that ball out, you can't throw it any better than this. Okay, on the ground. Let's go! he checked to it!"

Dart's first touchdown throw, a 29-yard pass to the end zone to LJ Humphrey, was his only of the matchup against the Buffalo Bills last Saturday afternoon. He finished the game by completing 12 of his 19 passes for nearly 160 yards.
Seeing Dart come in early, following the Giants' QB1 Russell Wilson, Daniel tosses out his bold opinion regarding the rookie.

As a first-round draft selection, Dart would typically get the nod to play on a team right away, being a high investment. But the Giants plan to compete for a playoff spot in 2025. Rolling out a rookie isn't in the plan for the time being.
Instead, the Giants are going to bet on Russell Wilson. As the veteran wrapped up his lone season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wilson believes he can be a difference-maker in New York, offering much more stability than last year.
While the chances of Dart getting regular-season reps aren't set at zero percent, he isn't expected to get any playing time beyond the preseason as of now. Dart's ability to get on the field when the games count will all depend on Wilson's performance.

Chiefs' WR Rashee Rice's Disciplinary Hearing Reportedly set for Sept. 30

National Football League Chiefs' WR Rashee Rice's Disciplinary Hearing Reportedly set for Sept. 30 Published Aug. 14, 2025 7:24 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will have a disciplinary hearing with the NFL on Sept. 30 in New York, a person with knowledge of the schedule told The Associated Press on Thursday. The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because the details haven't been announced, said Sue L. Robinson is scheduled to hear Rice's case. Robinson is a former U.S. district judge who serves as the disciplinary officer jointly appointed by the NFL and NFL Players Association. It's the second time under the 2020 collective bargaining agreement that the league and the players' union haven't agreed on length of discipline, sending the case to Robinson. She presided over Deshaun Watson's case in 2022. Rice still has to serve a 30-day jail sentence in the future for causing a chain-reaction crash last year on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. He already agreed to pay more than $1 million in a settlement with the victims. ADVERTISEMENT Rice is returning from a knee injury that cut short his sophomore season in the NFL following a standout rookie campaign. He would be eligible to play the first four games, including a Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2, before his hearing. ESPN was first to report the date of Rice's upcoming hearing. Reporting by The Associated Press. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox? NFL to continue social justice messaging stencils in end zones for 2025 season

The NFL's social justice messaging is here to stay. For the sixth straight season, all 32 teams will display one of four social justice messages in the end zone at each home game. Teams can pick from "End Racism," "Stop Hate," "Choose Love" or "Inspire Change," which is a new addition that replaces the "Vote" stencil from 2024. Those messages will appear at one end zone, while "It Takes All of Us" continues to be stenciled at the other. "We're working hand-in-hand with players, and alongside our clubs, to amplify player voices and underscore what is most important to them," Anna Isaacson, the NFL's senior vice president of social responsibility, told The Associated Press. "For decades, the NFL and its players have been a unifying force in American culture and society that brings people of all cultures and backgrounds together to enjoy America's most popular sport. "This is an honor and responsibility that the league takes seriously, which is why we actively invest in off-field programs and on-field initiatives that promote unity." All international games will feature "End Racism" and "It Takes All of Us" in the end zones. The Philadelphia Eagles have selected "Choose Love" as their season-opener message on Sept. 4 against the Dallas Cowboys and will rotate all four messages throughout the season. Once again, players can choose to feature one of the five messages on their helmets. According to the AP, the NFL has provided more than $460 million to dozens of grant partners and hundreds of grassroots organizations through its Inspire Change initiative, benefiting communities in need since 2017. The Inspire Change initiative has supported over 650 nonprofits and 2,100 players and alums, providing matching grants focused on mentorship, workforce development and addressing food insecurity.

NFL will continue to put social justice message in end zones

Whether the league will admit it or not, it's currently engaged in a high-wire regarding diversity initiatives, with a desire to do the objectively right thing on one hand and an urgency to placate certain political forces on the other. As it relates to the messages that have been painted on the back lines of end zones since 2020, those will continue. Via the Associated Press, all 32 teams will have one of four messages at the back of one end zone: End Racism, Stop Hate, Choose Love, or Inspire Change. At the back of the other other end one will be the message, 'It Takes All of Us.' Here's the reality. Some messages will invite less scrutiny from anti-DEI types than others. Choose Love, Inspire Change? Fine. End Racism, Stop Hate? Tread lightly. That said, 'End Racism' will be the message for each of the four international games. And the Eagles will rotate through all four messages. Kudos for the NFL to not suspending or postponing or pausing the end-zone messages. Especially if the gesture at some point triggers a social-media attack and/or a suggestion that the effort to acquire 10 percent of ESPN could be scrapped unless the messages are erased.
