Nebraska freshman Leo Curtis scores 20 points in Iceland's victory over Ukraine
This is Curtis' second 20-point game of the tournament, having dropped 20 in Iceland's win over Slovenia on Monday. He's only finished one game below double digits in scoring.
In the win over Ukraine, Curtis shot 8-of-19 from the floor and hauled in eight rebounds in the win. The 7-foot-1 forward also finished 7-of-14 from two-point range and 5-of-8 from the free throw line.
Curtis's performance was impressive early on, tallying up nine points, two rebounds, and a block in the opening quarter, helping Iceland to a lopsided 29-6 lead. He then scored an additional eight points in the second quarter, sending him into halftime with a 17-point outing.
Through six games, Curtis leads Iceland in points per game (15), rebounds per game (8.2), and blocks per game (2.2). Across all 16 teams, Curtis ranks ninth in points per game and third in rebounds per game.
With the win, Iceland improves to 2-4 and will conclude the tournament against Germany on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 a.m. on the FIBA YouTube channel.

ESPN names Ohio State as a college basketball team that could 'make a jump' this season
We are all getting ready for the start of the college football season now just a little over a month away, but the college basketball season won't be too far behind. In fact, we're now within 100 days of the Ohio State basketball season, and ESPN took a big look at previewing hoops for 2025-2026 by looking at many different angles and storylines. One of the things Myron Metcalf and Jeff Borzello touched on was ten teams that "could make a jump" this coming season. And, if you are an Ohio State fan, then you have to like what the ESPN duo things of the Buckeyes this season because they were named as one of those ten teams. OSU was able to retain some key pieces of its core group, but outside of that, there's been a major overhaul of the guys suiting up in the scarlet and gray this season. The mix of old and new will have to come together for the Buckeyes to get back to the NCAA Tournament, but there's good reason to believe that it could happen. Here's what Borzello says about Ohio State this winter: "The Buckeyes showed flashes of their potential last season but couldn't quite string together a consistent run of form. With a terrific trio back in Bruce Thornton, Devin Royal and John Mobley Jr. -- plus the additions of Christoph Tilly and Brandon Noel up front -- Jake Diebler's team should find itself in the NCAA tournament." It sure seems like Ohio State hasn't had a shortage of talent over the last few years, but getting the team to come together and play as a team has been an issue that seems to be a problem in today's day and age of the transfer portal and name, image and likeness. 'The best dad.' IndyCar's Scott McLaughlin shares message after Bubba Wallace won Brickyard 400
INDIANAPOLIS — Bubba Wallace claimed his first NASCAR Cup Series win at the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, the third victory of his career, and even after taking the lead on Lap 143 had his own doubts. "The last 20 laps, there were ups and downs of me telling myself I wasn't going to be able to do it," he said. The race broadcast shared fuel concerns, one that even Denny Hamlin was unsure of, but Wallace did a burnout after crossing the bricks first after a red flag for rain in Turn 1 that lasted 18 minutes, and then a second overtime. Wallace was able to kiss the bricks with his wife, Amanda, and their son, Becks, who was two days shy of being 10 months old. A photo shortly after was shared on Twitter, and IndyCar driver Scott McLaughlin had a heartfelt message. McLaughlin had finished, key word of late as he poked fun at recapping his own race, 10th at the IndyCar race at Laguna Seca, which was won by Alex Palou before the Brickyard 400 wrapped up despite a later start time. "This guy is the best dad," McLaughlin wrote on Twitter. "Has been going through it with the racing gods. Always one of the first people to text me if we have a bad day. So happy for Bdub, a great dude and I hope the haters enjoyed that." McLaughlin's 10th-place finish ended a drought of consecutive races with DNFs. He crashed on Lap 1 of Iowa Race 2 and again on Lap 3 at Toronto, finishing 26th in both races. McLaughlin sits tied for 11th with Rinus VeeKay (259 points) in the championship standings in what's become a Palou runaway (590) with a slim margin for Pato O'Ward (469) to catch him.
