ITV This Morning guest speechless after Victorian till fetches eye-watering valuation
A guest on This Morning was left gobsmacked after discovering a family heirloom, passed down through three generations, was valued at £1,000.
During an antiques segment on the popular ITV daytime show, expert Dan Hatfield visited a fair in Bolton to appraise cherished possessions brought in by the public.
One visitor, Louisa, presented a Victorian till inherited from her great-grandmother and was astonished to learn its significant value.
Louisa shared the story of the till's journey from Liverpool, where her great-grandmother, a cleaner, rescued it from disposal.
She mentioned that the till has been part of the family for generations and holds a special place in her , saying: "We've had this till for three generations, and this is also in my spiritual hubs," reports the Manchester Evening News.
Louisa also disclosed that visitors often press the till and make a wish, hoping it will bring them good fortune.
Upon discovering £20 inside the till, Dan was thrilled to announce: "I'm going to deliver you some good news."
He explained the rarity of the item, stating: "This is one in 480,000 made, however, the quality of this is sublime. There are very few in the world of this calibre.
"Very exciting when it comes to Victorian tills - I am that kind of sad person that gets excited by Victorian tills. The value of this is £1,000."
"Wow!" exclaimed Louisa. "I'm very surprised, there's no value to it because obviously it's family but I did not think it was that much."
The antiques expert also revealed that another guest's Disney memorabilia had hit the £1,000 mark.
Regarding a Peter Pan ship model, he stated, "You're looking at about £1,000 for that," and a Mickey Mouse toy lantern was similarly priced.
"This amazing 1930s lantern, before Facebook, Instagram, and Netflix, is how the kids entertained themselves. You had your own cinema at home."
"Look how preserved this is," he continued, labelling the lantern as "highly collectible" due to its rarity.

Speaking to Fabulous, Jack, who snapped the property up within an hour of seeing it for sale, has now shared his top money-saving tips and tricks for renovating your home. "It was a rare opportunity to get our hands on one of those old gems that we could turn into something really different and magical." But the interior design guru was eager to transform the chapel, which is two storeys with two bedrooms, both with modern en suites, without breaking the bank. "We did a lot of the work ourselves to keep the cost down and watched a lot of videos on YouTube," Jack explains. "We kept the original floors and many of the old features and learnt what bits of carpentry we could do.'

Davidovich Fokina subsequently posted an open letter to the ATP via his Instagram story. He revealed his "disappointment and frustration" at having to wake up "extremely early" for his match - pointing to the fact that he is staying a one hour drive from the tournament venue. Man of the people Evans, however, was having none of Davidovich Fokina's complaints. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Davidovich Fokina's complaint in full Good afternoon, Today I want to share my disappointment and frustration with the ATP. Tomorrow, every match starts at 12:30 except ours, which has been scheduled at 11am. We're staying one hour from the club, which means we have to wake up extremely early to arrive in good condition. We've asked for a change, but the answer was that everything has already been sold, tickets, TV rights, etc. Once again, it's clear that players are not taken into consideration. Today it happened to others, tomorrow it's me, and from the day after, all matches return to 12:30. There are plenty of available courts, yet we're the only ones playing at 11:00. The ATP always promises they'll fix things, but nothing ever changes. This isn't the first time it happens, and when you're inside, you realise it's not as great as it looks from the outside. All the best, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina A third reasoned: "Evans is right. Sometimes, being flexible doesn't hurt." And another added: "He's getting paid literally tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to show up at 11am and play a tennis match." Eugenie Bouchard breaks down in tears as former Wimbledon runner-up officially retires Davidovich Fokina reached the final in Washington last week. During his run he defeated Wimbledon semi-finalist Taylor Fritz in a match that did not finish until 1am. The charismatic star held several match points in the final but went on to lose a heartbreaker to Alex de Minaur, leaving him still without a tour-level title. Evans, meanwhile, is looking to rebuild his ranking aged 35 having fallen out of the world's top 200 earlier this year. The Brummie star is back up to No129, having reached the third round in Washington last week. Ahead of Wimbledon, Evans wiped away tears as he recounted his struggles this year. He said: "It's not the matches. It's when you feel like you've let people down, that's the tougher thing about it. 'You're not used to losing, that's probably more of the thing. I don't worry about retirement but it's just different isn't it? "To start losing, it's scary at the end of the day, to know sometimes you're not good enough. 'It's not an easy thing in sport to not be good enough. I don't know why I'm so emotional about it."
