Sitaare Zameen Par crosses 130 cr at box office, set for tough weekend test

Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection: Aamir Khan's latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par, continues its successful run at the box office, crossing the ₹130 crore milestone in India. Released on June 20, the sports comedy-drama has struck an emotional chord with audiences, thanks to its uplifting narrative around neurodiversity and inclusion.
Sitaare Zameen Par has done great business so far, but the upcoming releases might slow down the movie's collection.
Upcoming box office clashes
The upcoming weekend could stir the box office as two big releases arrive on July 4. Anurag Basu's Metro… In Dino, a romantic anthology featuring Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, and Pankaj Tripathi, is touted as a thematic sequel to Life… In A Metro and backed by T-Series. Competing alongside is the Hindi-dubbed Jurassic World Rebirth, a sci-fi action film starring Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, directed by Gareth Edwards.
Despite the fresh competition, Sitaare Zameen Par is expected to stay strong. With steady collections and positive buzz, Aamir Khan's sports drama may enjoy another weekend surge, holding its ground in what promises to be a crowded box office race.

Varun Dhawan Wants To Dub For Priyanka Chopra In Heads Of State: ‘I Have Range'

Last Updated: Varun Dhawan hilariously crashes a Prime Video meeting, suggesting he dub Heads of State for Priyanka Chopra, John Cena, and Idris Elba. Varun Dhawan is back with his signature humour and spontaneity — this time off-screen. In a recently released video by Prime Video, the actor barges into a marketing team meeting armed with a barrage of quirky ideas to promote the action-comedy Heads of State, starring John Cena, Idris Elba, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. In the video, Varun pitches an over-the-top Hindi title — Desh ke Sir: Baaki Sab Be-Asar — clearly meant to channel pulp action-drama vibes. He doesn't stop there. With unmatched comic timing, he suggests the use of India's iconic sutli bomb as a promotional tool and even offers to dub all three lead characters in Hindi, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas. 'I'll do John Cena, Idris Elba, and even Priyanka — I have range," he jokes, leaving everyone in splits. While his suggestions may not be headed to official campaign decks anytime soon, Varun's antics have definitely added a desi dash of fun to the global release of Heads of State. Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the film brings together a stellar cast that includes Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, and Sarah Niles. Set against a backdrop of espionage, politics, and high-octane action, the film promises an adrenaline-packed ride laced with comedy and chaos. News18 Showsha called the film a flashy take on the classic buddy action format. 'In Heads of State, a high-octane political action-comedy streaming on Prime Video, the buddy formula of mismatched leads gets a flashy upgrade with Idris Elba and John Cena at the helm. But it's Priyanka Chopra Jonas who ultimately walks away with the most memorable moments, asserting, once again, that she belongs not just in Bollywood royalty but in the global action elite." It further noted, 'As for the film's headliners, Cena and Elba make an unlikely but watchable pair. Cena plays Derringer with the same exaggerated bravado he brought to Peacemaker, skewering the Hollywood-hero-turned-politician archetype with abandon. Elba, ever the professional, gives his stiff, brooding Prime Minister just enough dry humour to prevent him from becoming a bore. Together, they bicker, banter and bomb their way across Eastern Europe in a bromantic detour full of explosions and ego clashes." Heads of State is now streaming on Prime Video in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. First Published: July 03, 2025, 19:03 IST

‘Coolie': Aamir Khan's first look from Rajinikanth's film with Lokesh Kanagaraj out

The makers of Coolie, superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming multi-starrer film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, unveiled the first look of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan on Thursday (July 3). Set to release in theatres on August 14, the film features Aamir in a special cameo appearance. The first look introduces the star as the rugged-looking Dahaa, sporting a dark vest, smoking a pipe. Notably, this comes just weeks after Aamir opened up on his role in Coolie during the promotions of his recent release, Sitaare Zameen Par. In an interview with Zoom, Aamir revealed that he agreed to do the role without even reading the script since he is a huge fan of Rajinikanth. 'I really enjoyed doing it. I am big fan of Rajini fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir's movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, 'Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it,' said the star. Rajinikanth's Coolie boasts an ensemble star cast that includes Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj. Pooja Hegde is set to play a special role. Shruti Haasan is the other prominent actor in the movie. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the movie, while Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer. Anbariv is in charge of the stunt choreography. Sun Pictures is producing the film. Lokesh had previously confirmed that Coolie will not be part of his popular film universe called the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which includes movies such as Kaithi, Vikram and Leo. Aamir, last seen in Sitaare Zameen Par, is also set to begin working on his dream project, Mahabharata, and a biopic on pioneering filmmaker and the father of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke, with director Rajkumar Hirani. Interestingly, Aamir and Lokesh are all set to team up for a big-scale superhero action film set to go into production in 2026.

Four Years Later OTT Release Date: When and where to watch Shahana Goswami's Australian-Indian series online

Four Years Later OTT Release Date: It's not every day that a cross-continental love story comes wrapped in quiet realism, out-of-this-world performances, and a setting that shifts between the chaotic colours of Jaipur and the clinical greys of Sydney. Four Years Later, a heart-tugging romance drama that explores what happens to love after the honeymoon ends, is finally making its way to Indian screens. The eight-episode series, which first premiered in Australia last year on SBS, is set to release in India on July 11, 2025, exclusively on Lionsgate Play. More about Four Years Later Starring the very dependable Shahana Goswami alongside Akshay Ajit Singh, this Australian-Indian collaboration is a refreshing break from the usual tropes we're fed in long-distance romance dramas. At its core, Four Years Later is about two people who start their marriage with hope, but then life throws in career dreams, distance, cultural expectations, and personal growth, and suddenly, love isn't the only thing on the table. The story follows Sridevi and Yash, a couple who marry in India through an arranged setup, only for Yash to quickly move to Sydney to begin his medical traineeship. Sridevi, meanwhile, stays back in India, caught between her in-laws' household and her own suspended ambitions. When she finally moves to Australia to reunite with her husband after years of separation, it's not the romantic reunion either of them imagined. They've both changed. Their priorities have shifted. And most importantly, they're no longer sure if they fit into each other's new lives. Four Years Later's cast and crew The supporting cast features names like Kate Box, Taj Aldeeb, and Luke Arnold. There's a nice interplay of languages too, Hindi and English flow organically. Four Years Later was created and written by Mithila Gupta, an Indian-origin Australian screenwriter who has previously worked on shows like Neighbours and Five Bedrooms. The direction is shared by Mohini Herse and Fadia Abboud. The music, composed by Isha Ram Das (Simpson), is minimal but effective. The series was shot in early 2024 across Mumbai, Jaipur, and Sydney. Its premiere on SBS in Australia was well-received, with critics praising its realistic portrayal of modern marriage and migration. It was even nominated for Best Miniseries at the AACTA Awards. And now, Indian audiences finally get a chance to experience this emotionally rich drama.
