Overall development of tribal people important for A.P.'s growth: NTR Collector
Speaking at the World Adivasi Day celebrations, organised by the District Tribal Welfare department at a government school in A. Konduru mandal, NTR district, on Saturday, Mr. Lakshmisha said that while 86,000 'Bangaaru Kutumbaalu' have been identified in the district under the P4 programme, 20 per cent of it falls in tribal areas.
The Collector said that the focus is on development of infrastructure in tribal areas, and ashram schools are being set up to provide quality education to tribal students. He promised the public that Krishna water will be supplied soon through the Jal Jeevan Mission to the mandal which has seen many kidney diseases among people. He said that a study is also under way to analyse the causes of these diseases.
Mr. Lakshmisha said that efforts are under way to make the district illicit-liquor free as part of the 'Navodayam 2.0' programme of the State government.
Later, Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, representing the Tiruvuru Assembly constituency, urged the tribal youth to focus on education for a bright future. He said that the tribals should make use of government welfare schemes chalked out for their development. He added that a mega job fair would be held in Tiruvuru on August 22, and urged people to take part in it.
The programme began with a cultural performance by children. District Tribal Welfare Officer A. Vijayasanthi and other officials took part.

Collector, CP review security arrangements
Vijayawada: NTR district collector G Lakshmisha and Vijayawada commissioner of police SV Rajasekhara Babu on Tuesday conducted a review meeting at the IGMC stadium on the security arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations to be held at the stadium here on August 15. The meeting focused on comprehensive security arrangements including VVIP protection, crowd control, parade and contingency planning and traffic diversions. The celebrations are expected to be attended by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, ministers, VVIPs and a large number of people. Addressing the officials, the Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu stressed the need for foolproof security and instructed all departments to coordinate closely to prevent any untoward incidents. The Commissioner also stressed the importance of identifying alternate traffic routes, deploying sufficient personnel, and ensuring a smooth experience for all attendees. Never stop learning, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu tells constituency coordinators
Vijayawada: Staying hungry to learn new things will make success follow your path, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said while giving a pep talk to young professionals who were appointed as coordinators for the constituency vision plan and P4 on Tuesday. Giving the example of his own life, Naidu explained the importance of being a constant learner. "I come from a village without electricity, and I brought reforms in electricity in united Andhra Pradesh, which changed the face of the state. Development is possible only when we constantly think of finding new ways to bring change," he said. The state govt has appointed 175 young professionals, one in each of the 175 constituencies, for effective implementation of constituency development plans. These professionals will work in line with the constituency-wise vision documents prepared as part of Swarna Andhra Vision 2047. The planning dept gave a week-long training to the young professionals on their roles and responsibilities. The CM met them after they completed training on Tuesday. "Everyone should say that the chief minister has sent good people to their constituency. Earn a good name for yourself and bring a good name to me."
