BRS to start rail blockade if BJP, Congress continue to delay implementation of Telangana OBC quota Bill: Kavitha
She asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to direct Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to issue the order using the provisions of the Constitution. Ms. Kavitha also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to act so that the legislation, which is at present awaiting approval from President Droupadi Murmu, can be notified soon.
'If the Backward Classes Bill is not approved, not a single train wheel will be allowed to move forward from Telangana,' she said.
'Deceiving the backward classes'
Ms. Kavitha accused both the Congress, in power at the State, and the BJP-ruled Central government of deceiving the backward classes (BCs). 'Opposition to BCs is ingrained in BJP's DNA. If the BC Bill is not approved, 2.5 crore BC children in Telangana will teach BJP a lesson,' she said.
Talking to reporters in the national capital on Tuesday, the BRS leader said that she would write to all political parties seeking their support for the implementation of BC reservations. She said the State government is trying to wash its hands of the matter after sending the Bill to the President.
'Why isn't Rahul Gandhi making a phone call to Revanth Reddy to issue the Government Order? If he truly supports the Constitution, he should ensure that the Revanth government enforces the 42% reservation through a Government Order,' she said.

Prashant Kishor Alleges Nitish Kumar Lacks Fitness, Incable To Continue As CM
In a sharp political attack ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Sunday appealed to voters to move beyond Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming that Kumar's physical and mental health no longer permit him to effectively lead the state. Speaking to mediapersons at a roadshow in Bihar's Nalanda, Jan Suraaj founder said, "Due to the good work done by Nitish Kumar, people, especially the people of Nalanda-Harnaut, made him the Chief Minister for 20 years. But today, Nitish Kumar's physical and mental condition is not such that he can remain the Chief Minister. He has grown old; that is why people now have to look beyond Nitish." He further said that roads were improved and electricity was provided during Nitish Kumar's tenure as Chief Minister, but he failed to provide education and employment. "During Nitish's rule, roads were improved, and electricity was provided, but people did not get employment, and migration did not stop. Nalanda has definitely developed more than other districts, but the poverty of the people here has never been eradicated. "Till now, no provision has been made for education and employment for the children of the people here," Kishor said. Earlier on August 3, Kishor criticised the Election Commission over the alleged removal of names from the electoral rolls but asserted that "those whose names remain on the voter list are enough to remove BJP and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar" in the upcoming assembly elections. The Jan Suraaj founder also launched a scathing attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, saying that he has no issues to talk about. Yadav has claimed that his name is missing in the draft electoral rolls of Bihar. Kishor said, "Tejashwi Yadav has no issues to talk about; there is no doubt that the Election Commission is removing people's names... but those whose names remain on the voter list are enough to remove BJP and Nitish Kumar, how many names will they cut? ... The people of Bihar have decided that they want employment, not empty speeches... no one is going to fall for false promises; those whose names are not on the list will fight the Election Commission, the Election Commission is not the master; the people are the masters. Whoever the people vote for will win." Taking aim at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Kishor accused him of "mocking" the people of Bihar in Delhi. He also accused Gandhi of showing indifference when Biharis are "attacked" in different states. Notably, assembly polls are due later this year.

‘Critical to expose Voter Chori': Rahul Gandhi launches website for public support
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday fired a fresh salvo against the ECI by launching a 'Vote Chori' campaign website, seeking public support for his repeated demand for the release of digital voter rolls. In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi attached a short video in which he said: 'It is critical that we expose Voter Chori.' Addressing people in Hindi in the video, Rahul Gandhi goes on to urge people to support the campaign whole-heartedly by visiting its website and help stop the Vote Chori (theft of votes) taking place in the country. Calling it a fight for the defence of democracy, Rahul Gandhi wrote on X: 'Vote Chori is an attack on the foundational idea of 'one man, one vote'. A clean voter roll is imperative for free and fair elections.' 'Our demand from the EC is clear - be transparent and release digital voter rolls so that people and parties can audit them. Join us and support our demand - visit or give a missed call on 9650003420,' wrote Rahul Gandhi. At an event in Bengaluru on August 8, Rahul Gandhi demanded that the Election Commission of India (ECI) provide the electronic voters' list for the past 10 years along with video recordings. He warned that failure to do so would amount to the ECI concealing electoral fraud and a crime. The ECI dismissed Rahul Gandhi's assertions as "baseless", maintaining that it remains committed to conducting elections in a fair, impartial, and transparent manner. The Congress MP's fresh allegation of lapses against the ECI came on the eve of his plan to lead an INDIA bloc march from Parliament House Complex to the office of the Election Commission of India (ECI) in Delhi on Monday. Sources said the Opposition bloc MPs will walk the one km distance to the ECI office and have already sought time for the meeting with the Election Commissioners. The same day, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will host a dinner for MPs of the INDIA bloc, sources said, as the opposition alliance intensifies its efforts to present a united front against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and alleged large-scale rigging in polls.
