Netflix has announced one of its series will end with a feature film. Heartstopper, based on the coming of age graphic novels by Alice Oseman, resonated with LGBTQIA+ fans and became an immediate over night success.
The series was lead by Cardiff-born director Euros Lyn and in season 3 Andy Newbury and follows the love story of Charlie, a gay teen boy and his boyfriend Nick, who we see come out as bisexual in the series. After running for three seasons on the streaming giant, it has been announced that rather than a fourth season, Heartstopper will conclude with an upcoming feature film.

Despite the series coming to an end, fans will be excited to know that their favourite characters will be returning one last time. The movie will see Kit Connor (who plays Nick Nelson) and Joe Locke (who plays Charlie Spring), not only reprise their roles but also take on the mantle of executive producers. Much like the first three seasons, the finale will be penned by none other than Heartstopper's creator, executive producer, and graphic novelist Alice Oseman.
They took to Instagram to share the good news, with Alice sharing their excitement. They said: "We are making a feature film to conclude the Heartstopper screen adaptation, based on Heartstopper Volume 6 and the 'Nick and Charlie' novella."

They added: "We are getting to tell the end of the story!!! I'm deeply relieved and so excited about this new creative venture. I've written the script and we're hard at work already. They will be joined by a creative team including Patrick Walters, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman as well as Still Alice's Wash Westmoreland in the director's chair.

The film will continue from where the heartwarming Season 3 finale left off, following Nick, Charlie, and their friends as they navigate new heights in their relationships. The Heartstopper movie aims to delve into the impact of life's significant milestones on its growing characters, posing the question: Can first loves stand the test of time?
The movie will conclude Nick and Charlie's story, based on Alice Oseman's forthcoming sixth and final Heartstopper graphic novel.
However, with Nick set to head off to university and Charlie discovering newfound independence at school, the prospect of a long-distance relationship starts to loom large. Doubts creep in, and their relationship is put to its toughest test yet.

In the meantime, their friends are also dealing with the highs and lows of love and friendship, facing the poignant challenges of growing up and moving forward.
Fans took to social media to share their excitement for the announcement. One fan said: "i'm like heartbroken but also so incredibly happy at the same time."
Another added: "Ahhh, this is such lovely news. So happy we'll get a proper goodbye".

Chris Hughes told me how he used old-fashioned trick to make JoJo his girlfriend & revealed exact moment he fell in love

Kelly Allen was the first journalist to interview Chris about how he'd fallen for JoJo... and revealed their relationship secrets LOVED UP Chris Hughes told me how he used old-fashioned trick to make JoJo his girlfriend & revealed exact moment he fell in love ANYONE who has watched an episode of Love Island will know that dating in the modern world is complicated. From using dating apps to 'seeing each other' then going exclusive, to finally being boyfriend and girlfriend, it's a wonder how anyone gets into a relationship. 7 Chris Hughes revealed the surprising old-fashioned trick he used to take his friendship with JoJo Siwa to the next level Credit: Instagram/Chris Hughes 7 The Sun's Kelly with the celeb couple But we can reveal that Chris Hughes used a surprising old-fashioned trick to turn his friendship with JoJo Siwa into something more serious. I was the first journalist to interview Chris about how he'd fallen for JoJo - and he revealed he took inspiration from William Shakespeare to woo her. The 32-year-old put pen to paper and declared his love in writing. He told me: 'I was confused about how I felt. Then I wasn't confused anymore. I knew I needed to write it down to explain to her how I was feeling.' Perhaps it's because the horse racing commentator previously appeared on the ITV2 dating show Love Island in 2017, finishing third with then-girlfriend Olivia Attwood, that he'd had enough of the confusing modern way of dating - leading him to use more traditional methods to get the girl. The pair were thrown together while both appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in April. Having never met before, Chris, who lives in Ascot, formed an immediate bond with the 22-year-old Californian-based dancer. They both insisted it was purely platonic, especially since bisexual JoJo was in a relationship with Kath Ebbs, who identifies as non-binary. After she dumped the 27-year-old Australian actor at the Celebrity Big Brother finale party, speculation intensified about how they felt about each other. Chris and JoJo initially remained coy but after transatlantic trips to see each other, the pair took it up a level. Chris Hughes reveals baby plans with JoJo Siwa as 'besotted' hunk gushes over new love After much speculation about what was REALLY going on with them, they hard launched as a couple after Chris flew out to Mexico City, then onto Orlando to surprise her for her birthday. Chris explained: 'I went to Florida thinking 'I really like this person', but I was slightly confused about the feelings. I had already written her birthday card before I flew over. I took all these presents over for her. They were fun and sentimental gifts rather than anything of monetary value. 'But the night before her birthday, I realised my feelings had changed. I told her: 'I've got to go do something. I'll be back in half an hour.' 'I went to the hotel reception and borrowed a pen and came back up to the room. 'I took the card and opened it because I had to redo it. I sat in the toilet on my own and I rewrote the card. I knew my feelings had changed, and there was so much more that I needed to say than what I originally put in the birthday card. I wasn't confused anymore, and I knew what my heart was saying, and I wanted to tell her.' 7 Chris calls JoJo by her full name Joelle Credit: Instagram 7 The couple have been sickeningly loved-up since appearing on CBB together Credit: Instagram 7 The couple faced much speculation from fans while in the house together Credit: ITV Since then, the couple, who are having a transatlantic relationship, have been sickeningly loved up and constantly jetting back and forth to spend time with each other. MADLY IN LOVE Speaking about falling in love with JoJo, who he calls by her full name Joelle, he said: 'Some of the best relationships start as friendships. I look back at the CBB clips and could see how we gravitated towards each other. "We just wanted to be there for each other in the house. I adored the ground she walked on and the way she handled herself. How can you not love her? But it was as a friend. 'Then, towards the end of the show, I was confused about my feelings for her. And you don't know what it's going to be like on the outside. I was saying to myself: 'Come on, Chris, pull yourself together.' 'We were just friends at that stage, but we were talking all the time. I was missing her, and I felt like I needed to see her, so I flew to Mexico City to surprise her. "I was so nervous, even though I'd lived with her for three weeks. Then we ended up going to Orlando and I met her family – it was the best three days of my life. "From the minute I woke up until I went to bed, I was just so happy. It was at that moment something fully ignited inside me. "I went: 'God, I really like this person', and I knew she reciprocated it.' 7 JoJo dumped Kath Ebbs, who identifies as non-binary, at the CBB finale party Credit: Getty 7 Chris appeared on Love Island in 2017, finishing third with then girlfriend Olivia Attwood Credit: Rex Features And despite now being officially boyfriend and girlfriend and sharing constant loved-up snaps together on Instagram, the adorable old school way of communicating continues. He added: 'I like writing her letters. I don't do it every day. But when we are apart and I miss her, I write to her. I like writing, and I like to see my handwriting. I like sitting there. It gives me something to do. So when I'm at home alone, I'll get my little pad out.'

Joanna Lumley's life from frosty first meet with Ab Fab co-star to what should have been an 'affair'

Joanna Lumley is set to star in the second series of Netflix's Wednesday - here's everything there is to know about the Absolutely Fabulous actress. Wednesday season two is set to thrill fans, and the addition of Joanna Lumley to the Netflix series has certainly raised excitement levels. ‌ Last year's announcement that the Absolutely Fabulous legend would be gracing the upcoming season of Wednesday, premiering on August 6, sent waves of anticipation through the fanbase. ‌ Lumley will take on the pivotal role of Grandma Hester Frump, described as "razor sharp" and possessing a complex dynamic with her daughter Morticia Addams, portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones, in the darkly comedic drama. ‌ As viewers count down the days until the release of Wednesday season two, let's delve into the fascinating background of Joanna Lumley. Early life Born in 1946 in Kashmir, India, Lumley's early life was marked by travel across the Far East due to her father's role as a major in the Gurkha Rifles. Her family's ties to India stretch back generations, as she recounted to The Times: "It was my great-great-great-great-grandfather, James Rutherford Lumley, who was the first of my family to settle in India, at the end of the 18th century. ‌ "He was a military man who became adjutant general of the Indian army. "This lineage continued unbroken down to my father, also named James Rutherford Lumley, who served as a major in the 6th Gurkha Rifles." At the age of eight, Lumley's education took her to England, where she attended Mickledene School in Kent followed by Holmhurst St Mary's Convent School in Hastings. ‌ Modelling and Acting Lumley honed her skills at the renowned Lucie Clayton Finishing School in London, before embarking on a three-year stint as a photographic model. She earned a modest £8 a week as a model at the erstwhile Mayfair department store Debenham and Freebody, prior to working for designer Jean Muir. ‌ Rumour has it that Lumley had aspirations of becoming a ballet dancer, but was considered too tall for the profession. She made a brief appearance as a Bond Girl in the 1960s film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', where she humorously told Prospect "if you blinked you would miss me". However, her big break arrived in 1976 when she was cast as Purdey in 'The New Avengers', a character who transitioned from a trainee ballet dancer to a secret agent. ‌ "For two years I was on television all the time. People could remember my name," she revealed to Prospect. "And that's one of the greatest things as an actor, to be remembered-for good or bad!". "The pay was terrible, but name recognition changed my life. When people started to stop me in the street, I suddenly realised that I had stopped being a private person. ‌ "At the time I thought I would forever be known as the Avengers girl; even when I was old and grey." Absolutely Fabulous One of her most memorable roles was as the booze-loving, chain-smoking Patsy Stone, starring alongside comedian Jennifer Saunders, in the sitcom 'Absolutely Fabulous'. During a theatre Q&A in Horsham, Joanna Lumley disclosed that her initial interaction with Jennifer Saunders wasn't the smoothest, recounting: "There she [Saunders] was sitting on this chair. I said, 'Can I call you Jen?' and she said, 'No.' It was quite a bad beginning. ‌ "When I was offered the part, I turned to my agent and said, 'Can you get me out of this, because Jennifer is too polite or too shy to say that it's going to be a complete nightmare.'". However, their relationship took a turn for the better when Lumley managed to make Saunders laugh, paving the way for a strong friendship. ‌ Motherhood On a personal note, Lumley became a single mother at 21 to her son Jamie, fathered by photographer Michael Claydon, choosing to raise him independently. In an intimate conversation with The Guardian, she expressed gratitude for her family's support: "My parents helped in every possible way, and I cry my eyes out at the women who were made to give up their babies around the same time, because their families wouldn't have them, or they felt they couldn't keep them. "And the damage that causes. I'm so lucky that didn't happen to me. ‌ "Doctors had told me I could never have children, so I went on working until I was six months pregnant because they kept saying I wasn't pregnant. Jamie was born at seven-and-a-half months. It was a miracle for me." Marriages Reflecting on her romantic life, the actress from 'The Wednesday' was first married to actor and writer Jeremy Lloyd in May 1970, but the marriage ended shortly after. While she previously described Lloyd, the co-writer of Are You Being Served and Allo Allo, as "witty, tall and charming", Lumley humorously suggested that they should have "just had a raging affair" instead of getting married. ‌ Lumley later tied the knot with conductor Stephen Barlow in 1986 and has remained with him ever since. Speaking to The Guardian, she revealed: "One thing that makes my marriage work is a lot of absence. "We both have individual lives so we're always pleased to see each other, and treasure being together. I admire him and he, unbelievably, admires me. "It's important to try to respect and admire the person you're with." Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
