Kat ‘kills off' key member of her EastEnders family to bring Alfie home

Kat ‘kills off' key member of her EastEnders family to bring Alfie home

Metro19 hours ago
EastEnders' Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) has told one hell of a lie in order to bring husband Alfie (Shane Richie) back to Albert Square.
As viewers of the BBC One soap know, Alfie left the area last month on a mission to save his step-daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan).
She had been staying with her cousin Stacey (Lacey Turner) and was clearly in a bad way, creating an elaborate lie so that her family would believe that Spanish loansharks were hunting her down.
Alfie was summoned to Staey's flat to try and sort the situation, but when Kat followed him, a spooked Zoe climbed out of the window and ran away.
She was begged to return, but Zoe asserted that she'd done something 'so bad' that her family wouldn't want to speak to her. The next day, Stacey received a notification from her credit card company that a flight had been booked to Barcelona.
Fearing the worst, Alfie decided to follow – telling his suspicious wife that he was actually going to stay with brother Spencer (Christopher Parker) in Australia.
In his absence, Kat has struggled immensely. Their son Tommy (Sonny Kendall) has landed himself in hot water once again by stealing vapes from the Minute Mart, and she couldn't help but shake off her doubts about his whereabouts.
This was only intensified in tonight's instalments, when Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) told Kat that Alfie had reached out to Stacey.
Jean had overheard Stace' chatting to him on the phone, explaining that he'd reached a dead end in his search. She quickly brushed off the conversation, unaware that her mum would later drop her in it.
Kat demanded answers, and called Spencer. She apologised for it being so late, but said it was a matter of urgency that she spoke to Alfie because her grandmother Mo Harris (Laila Morse) had been knocked over by a milk truck and was dead!
Of course, this hadn't happened.

Spencer admitted that Alfie wasn't with him and Kat charged towards Stacey. There, Stace' had to make an even bigger lie. She said that Alfie had suffered another cancer scare, and had gone to Spain to clear his head. More Trending
Kat was distraught, but seemed to accept the explanation. She headed home, and Stacey quickly contacted Alfie to tell him that he must go along with the story to save his marriage.
Finally getting to speak with her husband, Kat asserted that she wanted a proper apology upon his return.

EastEnders schedule shake-up as BBC soap pulled for a week

As Wimbledon airs daily on BBC One, the soap has fallen victim to airing at a different time - but will now be pulled from schedules altogether. It means that last night's episode (July 1) will be the last until next Wednesday, July 9, with that episode airing at a different time. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the changes next week. All of this week's episodes have already aired - with no new editions until next week now. Monday, July 7 – No episode Tuesday, July 8 – No episode Wednesday, July 9 – Two episodes - one at 8pm and another at 8.30pm Thursday, July 10 – One episode at 7pm Friday, July 11 – One episode at 7pm Today (July 2) also marks the last new episodes of Emmerdale and Coronation Street for this week. Wimbledon and a UEFA Women's Euros match are the cause of the TV changes. And because of the UEFA women's matches, Corrie fans won't see their next episode until Thursday, July 10 at 9pm. It comes as earlier this week it was revealed that both Coronation Street and Emmerdale will now be available to watch on YouTube at 7am every morning, the same time as their ITVX release. Dedicated fans are annoyed that they won't be able to get their soap fix for some days.
