New Netflix series shows physical cost for WWE Superstars
A WWE superstar admitted he was left in 'terrible' condition physically after a move went wrong on Netflix show.

New docuseries Unreal, now streaming on the platform is revealing some rarely seen insight into the making of the wrestling company. According to its synopsis, fans are invited for the first time ever, to step into the WWE writer's room and outside the ring among other places with their favourite WWE Superstars.

Cameras take viewers where the drama is just as intense offstage as it is under the spotlight across this unique five-part series showing behind the scenes like never before.

This includes showing what really happened when a move didn't go as planned during the most recent Royal Rumble. WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes took on challenger Kevin Owens in a ladder match.
It was a brutal confrontation which left Owens bloody faced. However neither superstar walked away unscathed.

At some point in the match, Owens powerbombs Rhodes onto a ladder but footage from behind the scenes in the docuseries reveals it didn't go as intended. As Rhodes returns backstage following the conclusion of the match, Owens quickly asks his opponent if he is OK.
He says: "Are you OK, buddy? I'm so sorry about the bomb. Because I wanted the ladder to be so that you could just go straight, 'cause I can't see where I put you. But you put it the other way, so I kinda had to walk with you, and I didn't wanna put you too far, so then they looked like sh**. You ate it right on your neck. Are you okay?"

Footage from the match shows that Rhodes landed unexpectedly with such force that he sprung upwards into a standing position. He tells Owens: "I bounced into the nether realm on the suplex...I was blown away where I landed."
A producer then asks Rhodes how he is 'physically' to which he admits: "Terrible. But I'm not gonna bi*** and moan, and my legs work, my spine is not hurt, my neck is not hurt and I don't have a concussion. So those are my prerequisites for not complaining. So no complaints from me."
It is not the only real-world injury documented by the series as it also shows how Rhea Ripley made her comeback to win the Women's World Championship on Raw's Netflix debut.

A year previously Rhea, real name Demi Bennett describes when her 'whole year changed' during a backstage altercation with her rival Live Morgan.
Morgan is shown attacking Rhea in the hallways and throwing her into the wall. However, this lead to a serious injury for Ripley, so much so she dropped her persona.

Ripley says: "I have a third-grade AC sprain. I full on broke character as well in that scene. My collarbone and my shoulder blade got ripped apart, She had to kick me into the second wall, but my shoulder was already stuffed up, so I'm like , holding my arm.
"But then Liv gets on top of me and starts punching me in the bad shoulder and I was like 'Somebody please get her off me'.
She explains to the camera that she for now opted to not have surgery required to fix the injury. That is because it would double her recovery time from three months to six months, which she didn't want to do.
Paul Levesque, otherwise known as Triple H is then seen comforting her and telling her to keep her chin up.

Beloved WWE star's contract 'expires this weekend' with no deal in sight

A top WWE Raw superstar could be leaving in a matter of days. This weekend, the current deals for Karrion Kross and his real life wife Scarlett are set to expire, and reports suggest neither star have settled on a new contract. After months of fans rallying behind the former NXT Champion and loudly chanting his name at SummerSlam over the weekend, the duo could be on their way out. As reported by Fightful Select, the pair – who didn't feature on Monday Night Raw this week – haven't been offered new deals days after he lost to Sami Zayn at the stadium show. However, the outlet added that neither star has been told their contracts will be lapsing, which could suggest there's still hope they'll remain with the company. They haven't addressed the situation publicly, but Karrion did respond on social media after fans chanting 'we want Kross' at boss Triple H was brushed off as 'we want Brock' chants. 'I heard you loud and clear,' he wrote on X, before adding: 'Unreal. They write the scripts… But the fans write the truth. Thank you, Tick tock.' It's safe to say a lot of fans are disappointed at the prospect of Karrion and Scarlett leaving, with plenty of people pointing to their potential as major players. 'Karrion Kross has to be up there with the biggest waste of talent in the WWE of all time. Hopefully this isn't if for him though,' wrote @r0w4n_k3r1m. And @chris_xcom added: 'Wherever Kross lands, if it's renewed with the WWE or elsewhere – Kross and Scarlet are going to be serious draws. He was just starting to come into his own for his character. And Scarlet just needs the opportunity.' However, after Seth Rollins recently fooled everyone with his injury at Saturday Night's Main Event, some people are remaining sceptical about this situation. 'We definitely getting worked lmaooo,' joked @johnathanvolk, with other fans expecting them to remain with the company. The duo first signed with WWE in 2020, remaining with the company until November the following year when they were both released. By August 2022, Karrion and Scarlett had been re-signed and returned on SmackDown, feuding with the likes of Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles. For much of 2024, he fronted the Final Testament group with Authors of Pain, and feuded with The Pride and the Wyatt Family. This year, he's been featured weekly on Raw – albeit sometimes in short promos in between the main action – but his merch has sold well for WWE, and fan support has been steadily growing. Hulk Hogan 'begged for forgiveness' in final conversation with estranged daughter

Brooke Hogan hadn't spoken to her father for years after their relationship broke down but she managed to reconcile with the former WWE star just days before his death Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan begged his estranged daughter, Brooke, for forgiveness just days before he died aged 71. Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, passed away on July 24 after suffering a heart attack. ‌ For years, the retired ex- WWE star hadn't been in contact with 37-year-old Brooke after their relationship broke down. That same fractured relationship was brought into the spotlight when she shared an emotional tribute on social media following Hogan's death. ‌ Now it's emerged that they had a 'tearful conversation' only a few days before he passed away at his home in Florida. According to the National Enquirer, Brooke reached out to her dad and they reconcile their relationship. ‌ "It was a tearful conversation, albeit a short one," an insider told the outlet. "Brooke told her dad how much she loved him, how much she missed him. Hulk said he loved her, and he was sorry. "That was huge for Brooke to hear. Everyone knew how stubborn Hulk could be, but his fading health obviously softened him up. He knew he was dying and begged her forgiveness." The report adds that Brooke is still estranged from her mother, Linda. Along with 35-year-old brother Nick, Brooke was one of two children who Linda had with the former wrestler, who went on to marry two more times following their 2009 divorce. Five days after Hogan's death, Brooke took to Instagram and released a statement, insisting that their bond had 'never broken', despite him never meeting her twins. "My dad's blood runs through my veins. His eyes shine through my children. And our bond had never broken, not even in his final moments," she wrote. "We had a connection deeper than words, one that spanned lifetimes. I am so grateful I knew the real version of him. Not just the one the world viewed through a carefully curated lens. "We shared a quiet, sacred bond, one that could be seen and felt by anyone who witnessed us together. When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us. ‌ "He used to remind me, 'All of this is temporary and I'll always find my way back to you'. I truly believe that we will find each other in every lifetime. "I know he's at peace out, out of pain, and at a place as beautiful as he imaged. He used to speak about this moment with such wonder and hope. Like meeting God was the greatest championship he'd ever have." In a subsequent Instagram post, Brooke said: "My Dearest Daddy, You were my everything, and I will always be your girl. I am PROUD to be your daughter - for all the love, light, and goodness you brought into this world. "Thank you for choosing me in this lifetime, and for loving me so deeply. Our bond is eternal. That truth brings me comfort and hope, even in your absence. I love you more than all the stars in the sky, 4LifeAfterLife. Forever yours, Brooke."

After years of no contact between the father and daughter, the 37-year-old Brooke was able to reach out to her dad.
