Fans shared heartfelt reactions to Paresh Rawal's comment. One of them wrote, 'Sir, Hera Pheri wouldn't be same with you.', Another said, 'Sir, please rethink your decision.' As many awaited to watch the reunion of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, one user addressed, 'The trio wouldn't be complete without you.'
Following Paresh Rawal's exit from Hera Pheri 3, rumours claimed that they were creative differences between him and makers that urged him to quit the franchise. However, Paresh dismissed these speculations. He later revealed the real reason behind his decision and said to Midday, 'I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshanji directing us, but the fact is that I opted out because today I don't feel like a part of it. It is final for the time being. I always say 'never say never' for anything. One cannot predict what happens in the future.'
Following Rawal's departure, reports emerged that film's lead actor and producer, Akshay Kumar, was considering to take a legal action against him. The film's director Priyadarshan told the same publication that Rawal didn't inform anyone before taking the decision and revealed that contract was already signed and the film's promo and few scenes were already shot. He also said that Akshay had tears in his eyes after the veteran actor announced his departure from the film.
While, amid this controversy, it still remains unclear whether Akshay, Suniel, and Priyadarshan will proceed with the third installment of Hera Pheri without Paresh or not.

Before 'Hera Pheri 3' Paresh Rawal criticised Bollywood for making sequels to MINT MONEY; claimed, "Phir Hera Pheri' lost its innocence"

Even 25 years after its release, the 'Hera Pheri' franchise remains an iconic part of Indian cinema. Behind the humour and nostalgia, actor Paresh Rawal , who played the beloved Baburao, was in the news over his controversial exit from the project. However, did you know that the actor once gave a surprisingly honest take on why he wasn't fully on board with the sequel, 'Phir Hera Pheri'. In an old interview with Siddharth Kannan, Paresh Rawal admitted that he felt the second film had lost the charm that made the original so special. "It lost its innocence," he said, pointing out how the story became too cluttered in an effort to outdo its predecessor. He revealed that he even warned director Neeraj Vohra not to overfill the script with unnecessary elements. 'People will laugh at anything,' Rawal noted, 'but we don't have to run naked for laughs.' His message was clear, simplicity was the real strength of the first film. Rawal also touched on a larger issue: the trend of making sequels purely for profit. Speaking in another interview with The Lallantop, he criticized Bollywood's tendency to recycle characters and slap on new jokes, just to cash in. "A sequel made only to mint money isn't fun,' he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Зачем поджигать лавровый перед сном? He called the role a 'gale ka phanda' (a noose around the neck) and shared his frustration over being typecast. While fans still cherish Baburao, Rawal feels the character has more depth to explore, if only filmmakers were willing to take that leap. 'There's either a lack of imagination or just plain laziness,' he said. NO … There are Three Heroes in Hera Pheri . 🙏❤️ — Paresh Rawal (@SirPareshRawal) June 9, 2025 Rawal had previously announced in May that he would not be part of Hera Pheri 3, even after filming promotional content for the film. His decision reportedly had nothing to do with director Priyadarshan, who has been closely associated with the earlier films in the series. Fans however, were visibly disappointed by the news, with many expressing concern over the future of the franchise without Rawal's iconic character, Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, more popularly known as, 'Babu Bhaiya'. Akshay Kumar has reportedly filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit against Rawal related to production matters, although specific details remain under wraps. The case is currently pending in court. Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty spoke to India Today and expressed his surprise at Rawal's sudden exit. 'Even Akshay is clueless as to what happened. This is a crisis. We are in the middle of this film, and this is the biggest shock,' he said. Rawal had earlier described his attachment to the Baburao character as a creative burden. 'Woh gale ka fanda hain… I wanted to get rid of that image,' he told The Lallantop, referring to his attempt to break away from typecasting after Phir Hera Pheri released in 2006. As of now, there is no official confirmation on who will replace Paresh Rawal in Hera Pheri 3.
