I want people of Andhra Pradesh to be ‘healthy, wealthy, happy', says Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu
Addressing a gathering at East Veerayapalem village of Darsi mandal in Prakasam district on Saturday, Mr. Naidu said he wanted to reduce inequalities and ensure an equitable society with the P4 (People, Public, Private Partnership) scheme.
Mr. Naidu said, 'I am working round the clock for the welfare of the people to improve their standard of life. After developing Hyderabad, which is now the highest per-capita income generating city, in undivided Andhra Pradesh, I am now focused on developing Amaravati as a global city. My vision is to develop Andhra Pradesh as the No. 1 State in India by 2047.'
Lashes out at YSRCP
Criticising the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders, Mr. Naidu said, 'People must remain vigilant against those wearing the mask of politics. In my 47-year political journey, including 15 years as Chief Minister, I have never seen such degradation in politics. A party depicted Amaravati women as prostitutes. When a few women demanded an apology during its leader's visit to Podili in Prakasam district, they were assaulted.'
'TDP MLA Prashanti Reddy was abused by another YSRCP leader. Instead of condemning it, their party chief spoke in support of it. They tried to frame me in connection with their uncle's murder. At Bangarupalem in Chittoor district, mangoes were crushed under tractors to create a political spectacle. Fake videos were shown in Nellore to create false public support,' Mr. Naidu said.
'I will not remain silent if criminals foray into politics. The political parties must serve the people. Even if power is their ultimate goal, they must uphold values, discipline, rules and decency. Should people learn foul language and violent conduct from these leaders? I'm working to protect the lives and the future of the poor,' Mr. Naidu said.

A delegation of the YSRCP, led by Perni Venkataramaiah and V. Srinivas, and comprising MLCs Lella Appi Reddy and R. Ramesh Yadav, former MLA Malladi Vishnu, Mayor Rayana Bhagya Lakshmi, met State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nilam Sawhney here on Wednesday, and urged her to ensure peaceful by-election to the Pulivendula Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC), while taking to her attention the violence allegedly unleashed by the TDP-backed activists during the campaign and the evidence of it. The YSRCP leaders highlighted a series of incidents, including the attack on Mr. Ramesh Yadav and party leader Velpula Ramu allegedly by 30 TDP men armed with sticks. They alleged that the victims were chased, dragged out of their vehicles, and assaulted near Nallagondavaripalli, and the police deliberately remained mute spectators. The TDP was creating fear among the voters and misusing power to disrupt the election, going by the manner in which bindover cases were being booked against the YSRCP leaders and arrests made on false grounds, the YSRCP alleged, requesting the SEC to take stern action and ensure free and fair local body elections in Pulivendula and across the State.

Groups of Ministers from Andhra to be sent on study tours to developed countries
Groups of Ministers will be sent to the developed countries to study the development projects there with an aim to bringing innovative policies to Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has informed the Cabinet. The Ministers, particularly the young ones, will be divided into groups for the purpose. The Chief Minister will constitute the groups and assign them schedules. Mr. Naidu revealed the idea after the Cabinet meeting he chaired at the Secretariat on Wednesday. Mr. Naidu said the Ministers should understand the development projects in the countries they visit and find new ways to develop Andhra Pradesh. Revealing details of his Singapore visit, Mr. Naidu told the Cabinet that the previous YSRCP government had created fear among the investors. The Chief Minister, according to a few Ministers, said, 'With great difficulty, we have been able to revive confidence among the Ministers and officials in the Singapore Government. Due to the unacceptable attitude of the YSRCP Government, the Singapore Government, lost trust in us. After more than 40 meetings, the Singapore authorities have accepted to come and participate in the investor summit slated for November in Andhra Pradesh to explore opportunities. They are reluctant to take up the Seed Capital project, as agreed before 2019, but they will extend support to complete the project.' On reorganisation of districts, Mr. Naidu asked the Group of Ministers to finalise the changes and submit the report in a month. On the liquor scam, he told the Ministers that the government was committed to taking the issue to its logical conclusion. The Chief Minister said, from the next Cabinet meeting, one Minister must explain the progress and achievements of his portfolio. A senior Minister said, 'Presenting self-progress in the Cabinet is a good opportunity for the young Ministers. They will have an additional advantage in improving their performance. The Chief Minister and other Cabinet colleagues will suggest how to improve the performance and find solutions to problems.' The Chief Minister also suggested the Ministers to counter the misinformation being spread by some vested interests against the government. 'Despite visible development, implementing poll promises, and delivering good governance, some opposition camps have been spreading misinformation, which must be countered,' he said.

Give details on nixing nod to prosecute 4 netas: SC to TN
NEW DELHI: Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Tamil Nadu govt to provide details of cases pertaining to four political personalities against whom sanction for prosecution in corruption cases granted by the competent authorities were withdrawn following a change of government in the state after elections. TN additional advocate general Amit Anand Tiwari termed the PIL filed by Chennai-based lawyer Karuppiah Gandhi in this connection as a "motivated petition", aimed at garnering political mileage, and asserted before a bench of Justices Surya Kant, Ujjal Bhuyan and N K Singh that the state has scrupulously adhered to the procedure established by law to deal with the cases. Appearing for the petitioner, senior advocate D S Naidu said the petition referred to 18 political personalities, who were or are ministers or MPs, against whom investigations were derailed, chargesheets were supplemented with assertions about their innocence to close the cases, or sanction for prosecution granted earlier were withdrawn. "Withdrawing sanction to prosecute is unheard of in criminal jurisprudence," he said. Referring to Tiwari's "politically motivated petition" argument, Justice Bhuyan told Naidu, "This is a malady not confined to Tamil Nadu alone. It is spread to the entire country. If you open a Pandora's box, it will come back to you one day". Tiwari said that investigations were carried out in the cases and taken to logical ends. The Madras high court was seized of some of the cases, he said. The bench told him, "Why don't you file a short affidavit giving details about the four cases where the previous sanction for prosecution was withdrawn allegedly after a change of political regime? We will confine the proceedings to these four cases, which appear to be serious". On the prayer of the petitioner to transfer trial in these cases against politicians to another state, the bench said it would create complications over appointment of public prosecutor (PP). Naidu said the state where the cases are transferred can be empowered to appoint the PP, to which the bench did not agree. Tamil Nadu, in its affidavit filed earlier, had said, "The criminal cases investigated by the Directorate of Vigilance and anti-corruption bureau are dealt with in accordance with law without extraneous pressure. In spite of the party in power, the investigation, trial and appeal proceedings are carried out as per the established law and procedure".
