Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's Daughter debuts new name at Los Angeles fashion event

Express Tribune2 days ago

Shiloh Jolie, the 19-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, introduced a new public identity at a fashion event in Los Angeles last week. Attending the launch of Isabel Marant's capsule collection with Net-A-Porter, Shiloh was credited as a choreographer for an original dance number—under the name 'Shi Joli,' a shortened moniker inspired by her mother's surname.
The exclusive 'sunset dinner' took place at Schindler's Oliver House in the Silver Lake neighborhood. Shiloh's choreography was performed by dancers Tako Suzuki and Keoni Rose, accompanied by singer Luella's live rendition of 'Naïve.' In the event's press release, her name appeared as 'Shi Joli,' marking her first professional appearance using the shortened identity.
Shiloh's appearance under the new name follows her legal decision to drop 'Pitt' from her surname on her 18th birthday in May 2024. The change was made official in August, with sources confirming that she independently hired a lawyer and financed the process herself, without input from Angelina Jolie. In a statement at the time, her attorney said the decision was 'independent and significant,' made in response to 'painful events.'
Brad Pitt was reportedly 'aware and upset' when Shiloh made the change. A source told People that he 'always wanted a daughter' and has struggled with the emotional distance between himself and his children. 'He loves his children and misses them,' the source said. 'It's very sad.'
Shiloh isn't the only sibling to distance themselves from Pitt's name. Zahara Jolie dropped 'Pitt' during her 2023 Alpha Kappa Alpha induction, and reports suggest Maddox Jolie has also avoided using 'Pitt' on non-legal documents. Pitt and Jolie, who finalized their divorce in 2024 after an eight-year legal battle, share six children.

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin split after nearly 8 years together

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have broken up once more, bringing an end to their nearly eight-year, on-and-off relationship. Sources have confirmed to PEOPLE that the split feels 'final this time.' Representatives for both stars have yet to comment on the matter. The actress and the Coldplay frontman were first linked romantically in 2017 and had been engaged for several years, although they were never in a rush to marry. Engagement rumours had first surfaced in 2020, but it was later revealed that they had been engaged for a while before confirming it publicly. The couple had appeared publicly together as recently as May 2025, when they were photographed in Malibu. Earlier in January, they were also seen in India, where Martin was touring with Coldplay. Despite ongoing breakup rumours in 2024, the couple had been spotted together in various locations, showing no signs of a split at the time. Although their relationship had its ups and downs, the couple seemed to be in a good place before the latest breakup, leaving fans wondering what comes next for the pair. Dakota Johnson, who stars in Materialists, opens up about her perspective on relationships in a recent interview, challenging traditional views on marriage and divorce.

Seven years after kate spade's suicide, best friend elyce arons shares their story

Spade, known to close friends as 'Katy,' died by suicide on June 5, 2018. Arons met Spade when they were freshmen in college, and their friendship blossomed into a business partnership that helped build the iconic Kate Spade brand. The memoir offers a rare glimpse into their personal connection and Spade's private struggles, which Arons describes as 'a permanent ache.' In an excerpt published by PEOPLE, Arons recalls visiting Spade's Park Avenue apartment days after her death. The once bright and meticulously kept home was dark and chaotic. As Arons opened the closet door to retrieve clothes, a swarm of moths flew out. She instinctively yelled, thinking Spade might be playing one of their old pranks. The moment underscored the painful reality that her friend was truly gone. Their story began in 1981 at the University of Kansas and continued through the rise of their handbag business in the '90s, alongside Spade's husband, Andy, and partner Pamela Bell. The brand's success grew quickly, leading to CFDA honors and global expansion. Despite professional triumphs, Spade's private life became more complex. After launching a new brand, Frances Valentine, in 2016, she died two years later. Arons admits she's still processing the loss. 'Those who loved her continue to grapple with her loss, seeking peace with a decision that left lasting heartbreak,' she writes. Her message now is simple: cherish the people you love and never take their presence for granted. We Just Might Make It After All will be released June 17 and is available for preorder.
