Belagavi: Lok Sabha member and former chief minister of
Karnataka
,
Jagadish Shettar
, said that corruption is rampant in the Congress govt. "The ruling party's MLAs and ministers are expressing dissatisfaction over this.
There is no money for development works," he said and demanded that chief minister Siddaramaiah and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar should take moral responsibility and resign from power.
Speaking to media in Belagavi on Monday, Shettar launched a scathing attack on the state govt over its administrative stance and the statements of MLAs and ministers. "The Upper Krishna Project requires Rs 50,000 crore for its third phase.
If this project is completed in phases, thousands of hectares of land will be irrigated, benefiting farmers. However, the Upper Krishna Project was completely ignored by the govt.
Thousands of crores of rupees are being spent on guarantee schemes, but no funds are being released for any other work. Even the ruling party's MLAs are extremely unhappy about this," he pointed out.
"Corruption is rampant in the state govt's administration.

It is not known when the disgruntled Congress MLAs will leave the party. So this govt has no life and is certain to fall soon," he predicted. "The BJP no longer needs Operation Lotus. MLAs who are fed up with the Congress are considering leaving the party on their own," he said and added that there are many leaders in the Congress who admire Prime Minister Modi's political polarisation leadership, and it would not be surprising if political consolidation takes place in the future.
CT Ravi seeks minister Zameer's resignation
Speaking to the media on Monday, legislative council member CT Ravi said that the MLAs of that party have expressed dissatisfaction against the corruption in the state govt's rule. This dissatisfaction is not a private matter. This should be investigated under the leadership of the working judge. Before this, he said, minister Zameer Ahmed should resign.
"There is no Congress without corruption. There is no corruption without Congress. The govt seems to think that giving guarantee schemes is akin to a license for corruption. If it thought so, it should have implemented rate cards in all departments, he said. Raju Kage is not a BJP MLA. He himself said that not a single paisa of work has been done by the govt. The price hike after the Congress govt came to power is a big deal.
Work announcements are made. Work orders are not made. MLA Raju Kage has spoken the truth.
You have three more years. Your own party is accused of corruption, you have no morals to continue in power, he lashed out.

Ind vs Eng 1st Test Day 4: Rahul and Pant's tons set up intriguing final day When Rishabh Pant bats, it feels like he is capturing the thrill of life. He is endlessly fascinating, mostly exhilarating, occasionally staid and never boring. Day four of the opening Test against England at Headingley provided another opportunity for the dashing batter to showcase his worth. With Rahul (137, 247b, 18x4) — whose style and methods are in direct aesthetic confrontation to Pant's but no less effective — he combined for 195 first-rate, fourth-wicket runs (in 280 balls). The partnership helped India leave England with a 371-run target to chase. The hosts reached 21 for no loss at stumps, setting up a mouth-watering last day even as the threat of rain looms large. Curiously, Leeds is the only ground in the world where targets of 350 or more have been chased successfully twice.

Khamenei says ‘Iran Does Not Surrender' before Trump's claim of Iran-Israel ceasefire

Just an hour before US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran on Truth Social, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday (June 23) sent out a defiant message, asserting that the Iranian nation 'isn't a nation that surrenders.' His post came a few hours after Iran launched missiles at US air bases in Qatar and Iraq in response to the bombings of its nuclear sites by the American Air Force and Navy in the early hours of June 22. Khamenei's post on X came just before Trump wrote 'CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT'S TIME FOR PEACE!' on Truth Social and two hours before the US President claimed the two warring Middle Eastern countries had agreed to a ceasefire. Khamenei's statement read: 'Those who know the Iranian people and their history know that the Iranian nation isn't a nation that surrenders.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Chi phí cấy ghép răng là bao nhiêu vào năm 2025 (kiểm tra giá) Cấy ghép răng | Quảng cáo tìm kiếm Tìm hiểu thêm Trump, using his social media platform, later declared an end to what he called the '12 Day War,' crediting both Israel and Iran for averting a wider Middle East conflict. He said Iran would begin the ceasefire, followed by Israel 12 hours later, with the war officially ending after a full day of calm. Live Events A senior Iranian official also confirmed to Reuters that Tehran had agreed to the ceasefire, which was reportedly mediated by Qatar. However no official confirmation came from either side. According to the report, Trump had reached out to Qatar's Emir after Israel's consent, asking for help in persuading Iran to stand down. Qatar's close ties with Tehran helped facilitate a swift agreement, the official said. However, Khamenei's post casts uncertainty over the strength and longevity of the ceasefire. The Supreme Leader's statement, though ambiguous, may be seen as a symbolic rejection of the idea that Iran had been pressured into de-escalating. As of now, the ceasefire's implementation timeline is expected to begin within hours.
