Jennifer Lopez Reflects on Ben Affleck Divorce In 'Wreckage of You' Lyrics
That last one is an emotional pop ballad that comes in the aftermath of J.Lo's public divorce from Ben Affleck, which marked the end of Bennifer 2.0. Per Us Weekly, Jennifer told fans at her listening party that the song 'came to her' when 'she was lying in bed after a long day of tour rehearsals.' She reportedly wrote and cut the track in two weeks amid her split from Ben, which the source said she called 'a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally.'
Oh, and 'Wreckage of You' has officially been added to the setlist for J.Lo's Up All Night Tour, as she performed the ballad during the tour's opening night in Spain on July 8. Based on timing, the unreleased song seems to be all about her relationship with Ben and how she's come out stronger after their split.
Let's look into Jennifer Lopez's 'Wreckage of You' lyrics and their potential meaning, shall we?
Lyrics provided by Genius
[Verse 1]All it takes to make a diamond is pressure, pressureIt's only now I'm realizing, I'm better, betterAnd I know, I know the difference, but I see it from a distanceThe love I want, the love I need, it starts in me, now I found my way hereI'm gonna stay there
From the start, Jennifer likens herself to a diamond, as she continues to shine in the spotlight despite the pressures of fame and headlines surrounding her divorce from Ben Affleck.
The pair has a history that dates back 23 years, as they first met and started dating when they met on the set of Gigli in 2002. They rekindled their romance in 2021 following splits from their respective partners at the time and wed the next year. After blending their families and riding the high of their romance for a few years, they finalized their divorce in January 2025.[Pre-Chorus]Thank you for the scars you left on my heartWas showing me that stars shine brighter in the darkI won't fall apart because of who we areBut your broken parts
The pre-chorus reiterates how Jennifer won't let the hard times get her down. Following the fan listening event, an insider told Us Weekly, 'She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her, both personally and professionally. She had to cancel her tour and really focus on herself.'
The source went on to add, 'Fast-forward to one year later, and she feels better and stronger than ever, so she wanted to write a song about coming out of a bad situation much stronger.'
[Chorus]Because of you, I am stronger, wiserBetter than I've ever beenI won't let you no longer, longerEver say goodbye to meIt was perfect the while that you made me believeReally got only greater for meAnd it made me stronger, stronger, bulletproofNow watch me climb out of the wreckage of you
The fan who attended the listening event also revealed that the 'Love Don't Cost a Thing' singer 'kept thinking of the word 'wreck' because it means destruction, but she wasn't destroyed.'
[Verse 2]Like I'm home but in a silence, go missing, missingI won't ignore all of the sirens, I'm listening, listening
In the second verse, Jennifer makes it clear that she's no longer ignoring the signs that lead down the wrong road when it comes to her relationships. She previously told Elle U.K. that she tends to dismiss red flags when they appear, saying, 'Everybody has seen that I make mistakes. I rush in, I get swept up and I ignore the signs. But so many of us are guilty of these things. Each time it goes wrong, it's hard.'
She continued, 'I get really hurt but I have to let myself go: 'What did I do? What can I learn?' And as hard and as hurtful as things get, I want to believe I will be able to go one step higher. I've got to hope that if I keep going I will eventually get it right.'
[Pre-Chorus][Chorus][Bridge]Thank you for it, the pain that you causedYou gon' have to watch meThank you for it, the pain that you causedYou gon' have to watch me climb out of the wreckage of you
While she's faced a difficult transition period in the public eye, J.Lo is still staying booked and busy. As she embarks on her Up All Night Tour and gears up to return to Vegas for her residency of the same name, the multihyphenate is allowing her heartbreak to lead her toward better things. [Chorus]

Miley Cyrus Reveals Why She Has No 'Desire' to Tour, Says It Could Interfere with an 'Important Pillar of Stability'
Miley Cyrus said she has no "desire" to tour her latest studio album Something Beautiful The "Flowers" singer said it's hard to maintain "sobriety" on the road, which is crucial to her "stability" Cyrus' last major tour was for Bangerz in 2014Don't get your hopes up, Miley Cyrus stans! The Grammy-winning singer won't be going on tour anytime soon. In an interview with Good Morning America that aired on Tuesday, July 15, the star revealed why she has no "desire" tour her latest album Something Beautiful. "I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunity to tour. I wish I had the desire but I don't," Cyrus, 32, said. The "Flowers" singer then said that she believes there isn't a proper "infrastructure that supports artists." "There's artists like Prince that are not here today that lived such a high intensity lifestyle on the road," she said. "It's really hard to maintain sobriety on the road, which is a really important pillar of stability in my life." For Cyrus, it's important to maintain her "mental wellness" — and that can be difficult to balance while on tour. "You have so many thousands of people screaming at you so dopamine — you're feeling a lot of love — and then you totally crash at the end of the show," she said. "You start thinking that one person loving you is not enough. It needs to be 10,000 it needs to be 80,000." The "Malibu" singer's last major run was the Bangerz Tour in 2014. Still, she has much to look forward to, including being recently named as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2026. "Honored to be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad when no one would recognize him," she wrote, alongside a clip of the music video to her newly released song "Walk of Fame" on Instagram. "We'd have the gift shops to ourselves & buy knock off Oscars and Marilyn Monroe merchandise. To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream." She concluded, "This moment will live forever, thank you to everyone in my life who made it possible. I am grateful to share this star with you." Cyrus released her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, on May 30. The album was accompanied by a complete visual film that premiered on June 6 at the Tribeca Festival. While on Jimmy Kimmel Live in May, the "Slide Away" singer explained that the film "has no story" and is instead focused on the music. "The music is the story. Every song is storytelling," she said. "Even though this has become very kind of psychedelic and over the top [like] everything that I do, but at the end of it, really the heart of it is just the music. Really, the storytelling. So there was no need for characterization because I'm the character. And I never want to become something or someone that I'm not." Read the original article on People

Jennifer Love Hewitt Debuts a Vibrant Ginger Hair Color
Jennifer Love Hewitt may know our next moves (read: she knows what you did last summer), but there's no predicting hers, having recently stepped out with a vibrant orange hair color, a shade world's apart from her signature brunette. On Monday, July 14, Los Angeles, the actor attended the red carpet premiere for the upcoming movie remake of I Know What You Did Last Summer, in which she reprises her original role as Julie James. For such a momentous occasion, Jennifer wore an embellished ankle-length black dress with coordinating heeled pumps and accessories. But more noticeably, she debuted ginger hair! Gone are her brunette tresses, and in their place, she's serving a vibrant burnt apricot hue. Last month, Jennifer hard-launched a softer orange hair color over on her Instagram, and now, just short of a couple of weeks later, she's amped up the tone even more. Thinking of making like JLH? Well, as she demonstrates with a subtle color refresh, orange hair (and any red shade, for that matter) can be super high-maintenance. So, to prevent fading and monthly visits to the salon, we recommend investing in a color-safe shampoo and conditioner. Using a hair gloss or glaze can also help maintain the vibrancy of your hair, and these formulas tend to be more gentle on strands than permanent colour. My fave? The glaze Super Colour Conditioning Gloss in the shade Copper Crush. Jennifer, that applies to you, too! You and your gorgeous glossy locks can thank me later...

‘I Know What You Did Last Summer' Red Carpet: Cast Talks Keeping A Killer Secret
Nearly 30 summers later, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. reunited on the red carpet for Monday's world premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer. On the red carpet at the United Artists Theater in DTLA, Prinze told Deadline 'it was very surreal' sharing the screen with Hewitt again as they reprised their roles as Ray Bronson and Julie James in writer/director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson's update of the 1997 slasher film. More from Deadline Freddie Prinze Jr. On Reuniting With Jennifer Love Hewitt For 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' Sequel: "It's The Best Work We've Done" Rachael Leigh Cook & Freddie Prinze Jr. Set 'She's All That' Reunion In Christmas Movie For Fox Entertainment Studios Vertical Acquires Chad Hartigan Rom-Com 'The Threesome' Starring Zoey Deutch, Jonah Hauer-King & Ruby Cruz 'It was weird, man,' said Prinze. 'I never went to a high school reunion, but it was close to that as I could imagine 'cause I hadn't seen her in 20-plus years.' Prinze walked the red carpet with his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar, whom he met on the set of the original, and who previously sparked rumors of her return when she got in trouble for leaking a photo from set while visiting her husband. While there are quite a few satisfying cameos and canonical surprises, Robinson made one thing clear: Helen Shivers is dead. That didn't stop her from pitching longtime friend Gellar to reprise her role. 'I was like, 'Maybe you aren't dead. Maybe you faked your death. Maybe you have a twin,'' Robinson said. 'I really pitched any version of Helen Shivers being alive to Sarah, and she was like, 'I am dead.'' Co-writer Sam Lansky, who made his feature debut alongside Robinson, called the opportunity 'the most surreal dream come true' after growing up on the original. 'The care that these actors put into crafting these characters is extraordinary, and I was so heartened by that as a fan, to realize how deeply these actors care about these characters and care about the fans, and want to protect the characters and their legacies for the fans,' said Lansky. 'Nothing about it was casual, there was a lot of really, really deep thought and critical consideration that went into it on Freddie and Love's part that you just felt to your marrow.' Jonah Hauer-King, who plays Milo Griffin, was excited to 'recreate that brilliant universe that everyone fell in love with' while working with Prinze and Hewitt. 'They're great. I don't think the film could have really been made without them,' he raved. 'They're kind of synonymous with the original film, and I think having them back was such a stamp of approval for this new wave and for the new script. Them being back was sort of an endorsement for us and do our thing and bring our own fresh take too.' And with a new era in the slasher franchise, which was based on Lois Duncan's 1973 novel, comes a new slasher to unmask. The reveal is sure to give longtime fans a shock as the cast and creators wrestle with the killer secret. 'I know Jen's original plan was that we were going to shoot multiple endings. I can neither confirm or deny that,' said Sarah Pidgeon, who plays Stevie Ward. Prinze seems to have had a little more insight. 'No, there was a singular focus, there was a singular story. It wasn't Clue, there was no multiple endings,' he said with a laugh. For Lansky, keeping a lid on the who's behind the hook 'has been really hard' leading up to the movie's July 18 premiere in theaters. 'Keeping secrets is always really hard,' he added. 'But I think we knew there were things that we wanted to do that would be fun and surprising for the audience, and that's all I'm gonna say. I hope that everyone feels that element of surprise when they're watching in the theater for the first time.'
