Delhi HC hears Celebi's claims of unfair security clearance revocation, hearing to continue on Thursday

on Wednesday heard in detail, the challenge filed by Turkish firm
Celebi
Airport Services against the revocation of its security clearance by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing Celebi, stated that the company's extensive operations in India, employing over 10,000 personnel across multiple airports over the last 17 years.
Rohatgi argued that Celebi's security clearance, originally granted in 2022 under Rule 15 for a five-year term, was abruptly revoked without prior notice or a hearing, violating the principle of procedural fairness.

Rohatagi during arguments stated that, "You have violated every aspect of Rule 12, affecting my business and contracts, which are now facing cancellation. The Ministry of Home Affairs has removed us, leaving us with no recourse. The decision only targets the company, while the employees remain unchanged. I firmly submit that Rule 12 has not been properly applied."

Recently, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu assured measures to protect affected employees and maintain stability in aviation operations. The Ministry reaffirmed that the security clearance was revoked to safeguard national security while ensuring uninterrupted airport operations.

Nashik: Nashik Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (NMRDA) has now decided to permit approach roads with a width of not less than 15 metres for development of properties in the region. Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is set to transfer 76 supervisors following persistent complaints of collusion with contractors in facilitating illegal construction. Residents also allege that supervisors, working in tandem with private builders, demand hefty sums to overlook unauthorised floors. GDA has around 200 supervisors in the seven zones under it, but its manual does not specify a maximum tenure for postings before an employee can be shifted. Many of the supervisors on the list have been posted in the same zone for more than five years. Officials admitted that supervisors posted in the same zones for years had formed "unholy alliances" with local realtors, and said the reshuffle aimed to curb the spread of illegal colonies, which have risen from 321 in 2021 to 351, occupying around 3,000 acres. "We hired a private contractor, prepared a cost estimate, and even had construction material delivered," he said. But that evening, a GDA supervisor reached their house and warned the family that the work violated regulations. Unsure how to proceed, the family considered abandoning the plan. DDA allocates land at Nehru Place for 5-star hotel for 55-yr period
New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority's first attempt to offer land for a five-star hotel on an annually incremental licence fee fetched Rs 27.2 crore per annum against the reserve fee of Rs 18 crore. The bid, won by one of the biggest hotel chains in the country, will generate revenues of Rs 10,000 crore for DDA over the licence period of 55 years. The initiative will provide a much-needed boost to the hospitality sector while contributing to DDA's coffers. "It was on the directions of lieutenant governor VK Saxena that DDA decided to move away from the existing freehold and perpetual lease models and chose a 'special licence property' mode to offer lands for prominent projects on annual incremental licence fee," an official said. The official explained that the experience of the last two decades showed that the freehold and perpetual lease models were not achieving desired results due to the high cost of land.
