Hamas Leader: Resistance Weapons Are Non-Negotiable

Saba Yemen26-04-2025
Doha – SABA:
A senior official in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Taher Al-Nounou, affirmed on Friday that "the weapons of the resistance are not up for negotiation and will remain in our hands as long as the enemy exists."
According to Quds Press, Al-Nounou stated: "We have not officially received any new proposals regarding a ceasefire agreement in Gaza."
He clarified that the movement "hopes the U.S. administration will exert serious and decisive pressure on Netanyahu to end the war on Gaza."
Al-Nounou also mentioned that Hamas "chose to remain silent and not respond to the Palestinian Authority's transgressions since the beginning of the war, but the latest statements were extremely shocking."
On Thursday, Hamas confirmed that "the outcomes of the Palestinian Central Council meeting, held in Ramallah on April 23–24, 2025, represented a profound national disappointment."
In a statement, the movement added that the meeting's outcomes "ignored the hopes and aspirations of our Palestinian people both inside the homeland and in the diaspora, who seek national unity in the face of the greatest threats to their existence and cause—foremost among them the genocidal war waged by the enemy against Gaza, and the accelerating settlement expansion and Judaization in the West Bank and Jerusalem."
The enemy army resumed its aggression and tightened siege on Gaza at dawn on March 18, 2025, after a two-month ceasefire that began on January 19 under a truce agreement. However, the enemy violated the terms of the agreement throughout the ceasefire period.
