Ashton Jeanty 2025 Fantasy Preview
2024: An under-the-radar high school talent due to his father's military career, Jeanty (5'8/211) was lightly recruited out of his Frisco, Texas high school after only one year of starting duties, but quickly blew up in Boise. He was already a nationwide sensation by his true sophomore season in 2023, but it was his 2024 that sent his draft stock stratospheric. With the caveat that he played in three more games than the legendary Barry Sanders, Jeanty's 2,601 yards rushing were second all time only to Sanders' 2,628 in 1988.
What's changed: Obviously a breakaway threat any time he touches the ball, Jeanty boasts otherworldly contact balance. He is ridiculously agile for his thick frame. An underrated pass catcher, Jeanty averaged 3.4 yards per route run in 2023 before the Broncos realized they didn't need to bother targeting him in 2024. Just hand him the ball.
2025 Outlook: The Raiders don't appear to be overthinking this one, though Raheem Mostert could handle some third downs to begin the season. If that helps Jeanty best make the transition from the Mountain West to the big leagues, so be it. A special prospect with a stranglehold on early downs, Jeanty is worthy of his lofty summer ADP.

Cooper Cronk warns Broncos coach Michael Maguire against massive Reece Walsh mistake
Cooper Cronk has warned the Broncos against trying to curb Reece Walsh's all-or-nothing play, believing it might be their best chance of success with Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam out injured. Reynolds and Mam both suffered hamstring injuries in the Broncos' loss to Melbourne last week, with Mam in doubt for the rest of the season. Reynolds could be back in time for the finals, but Billy Walters and Ben Hunt will fill the void in the halves in the meantime. It means fullback Walsh will be tasked with playing a bigger role in attack, and it could make or break the Broncos' season. Walsh has been hot-and-cold in 2025, and has been guilty of trying to overplay his hand at times. He's made a number of mistakes in recent weeks while trying to produce a big play, and many believe he needs to try and scale things back. But legendary half Cronk believes Walsh's high-octane play might be just what the doctor ordered for Michael Maguire's side. Cronk reckons the Broncos should go all-out with Walsh in an attempt to take down the Dolphins in the Brisbane derby on Saturday. 'He is the key,' Cronk said on Fox League on Tuesday night. 'I'm looking forward to seeing how Reece Walsh goes this week. There is a narrative that says he has to tone down his performances, but that was when everyone was fit and in the team. "It's like, 'OK Reece, you have been trying to get your best football'. This team needs you to get it right, right now, so go for it and go out there and play like you are the dominant player. 'Because if he starts missing the mark and goes completely 'AWOL', the Broncos are no chance. But I feel like if Reece catches fire for a month, you are thinking, yes the Broncos have something.' Cronk highlighted the double-edged sword of Walsh's game. If he fails to fire, the Broncos are in serious danger of missing the NRL finals. But if he can take control and produce his best over the next month, Brisbane will be a serious force when they get some key troops back. "But you can't build a club around a guy that is so up and down. And it's not just on the field. I think even off the field, mentally, he needs to find a way to calm his mind. He needs to take a step back and get level. Otherwise you are not going to be able to build a club around him and he is just going to get more and more frustrated and it's going to get worse and worse."

Former Oklahoma Sooners linebacker makes NFL Top 100
Former Oklahoma Sooners outside linebacker Nik Bonitto enjoyed a breakout season in 2024 with the Denver Broncos. The former second-round pick made the Pro Bowl and was a second-team all-pro, both for the first time after the year, and another first came on Tuesday. Bonitto was named to the NFL's Top 100 players for 2025 list for the first time, checking in at No. 38. He shot into the rankings after a breakout season in 2024. Bonitto posted 13.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss in 2024, helping Denver return to the playoffs for the first time since 2015. He'd been a spot starter for his first two seasons with the Broncos, but is now a core member of one of the league's best defenses. Bonitto played for the Sooners from 2018 to 2021. As a redshirt freshman in 2019, he had 3.5 sacks, becoming a starter mid-season. He had the game-clinching interception of Baylor's Charlie Brewer in OU's historic come-from-behind victory in Waco. Bonitto earned second-team All-Big 12 honors and was a second-team All-American in 2020 after posting 7.5 sacks, and was second-team All-Big 12 and a third-team All-American in 2021 after finishing with seven sacks. He was a playmaker for the Alex Grinch defenses, one of a small handful of players who excelled on that side of the ball. The Broncos took Bonitto with the 64th overall selection of the 2022 NFL Draft, and he waited his turn in Denver before bursting onto the scene last year. Bonitto is the fifth former Sooner to make the list this summer. He joins Kansas City's Creed Humphrey, Houston's Joe Mixon, Tampa Bay's Baker Mayfield and San Francisco's Trent Williams.
