Taylor Lautner Publicly Defended Selena Gomez After Her SAG Awards Appearance Sadly Resulted In Disgusting Discourse Around Her Weight
Taylor Lautner has taken to social media to chime in on an ongoing conversation surrounding speculation about Selena Gomez's weight.
In case you didn't know, Taylor and Selena dated briefly back in 2009, when Taylor was filming Twilight: New Moon, and Selena was filming Ramona and Beezus. Speaking to Seventeen back then, Selena called their fling 'fun,' but confirmed that the two split because of media attention, saying, 'I knew he had paparazzi following him and I had paparazzi following me. People were getting a little crazy about us.'
Following her recent appearance at the SAG Awards, Selena — who is now happily engaged to Benny Blanco — has sadly been the subject of a ton of online scrutiny around her weight.
On Feb. 24, Glamour published an opinion piece titled, 'It's Okay to Feel Hurt When Celebrities Lose Weight—but Let's Unpack It,' with the title image being of Selena. The article stated that criticism of celebrities' weight loss was ultimately contributing to the unfair judgment of people without accounting for what may or may not be going on in their lives. The writer, Alex Light, said, 'If we want body neutrality—which I know I do!—we must give women the freedom to make decisions about their bodies without judgment.'
The following day, The View co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin agreed with the article's statements about celebrities' boundaries and defended Selena against the speculation occurring. 'Why look to a complete stranger for inspiration?' asked Sunny. 'You don't know what's going on in that person's life. Selena Gomez suffers from lupus, so weight is a part of that condition. And so she may have lost this weight for her health condition.'
'And it's none of your business!' Whoopi added enthusiastically, before continuing on to explain that celebrities' choices were nobody's decision but their own.
And yesterday, Selena's ex Taylor posted a statement on Instagram echoing the sentiment. Sharing a side-by-side photoset of Selena, he wrote a lengthy message asking people to be 'a little bit nicer.'

The images Taylor shared showed Selena in 2024 and 2025, alongside contrasting — but equally disgusting — comments made about her weight in either photo. One comment read, 'Really not to be mean, but it's tjme for Ozempic,' while another from a year later said, 'She looked better thicc.'
Under the images, Taylor wrote, 'It's a cruel world full of hate out there. You can never please everyone nor should you have to. In my experience it doesn't make the words sting less, it just refocuses you onto what matters.'
He continued, saying, 'And it sure isn't the shape, color, or appearance of your body. Daily reminder to all of us to not forget how beautiful you are inside and out.'
He then reminded people to 'be a little bit nicer,' and added the 2011 Selena Gomez & The Scene song 'Who Says' to the post, which fans will remember was all about loving yourself for who you are.
Fans online have since called Taylor a 'green flag,' with one person saying that, 'This is the kind of ex that Selena deserves.'

Taylor Swift And Blake Lively Friendship Update In June
There's a new update on Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's friendship amidst Blake's ongoing legal woes with Justin Baldoni. In December, Blake sued Justin, her co-star and director on It Ends with Us, claiming he sexually harassed her on set. In addition to denying the claims, Justin launched a countersuit against Blake, alleging defamation, civil extortion, and false light invasion of privacy. Taylor was roped into the drama in May when Justin's legal team subpoenaed her, arguing that Blake had used "her megacelebrity friend to pressure [Justin]" into making changes on the film. A rep for Taylor immediately denied their claims. "Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie," her spokesperson said. "She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history." According to the rep, Taylor had only agreed to license her song "My Tears Ricochet" for use in the trailer and one scene. "Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift's name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case." Still, the drama continued when Justin's lawyers wrote a letter to a judge claiming that Blake had allegedly asked Taylor to delete their text messages and "that if Ms. Swift refused to do so, private text messages of a personal nature in Ms. Lively's possession would be released." Blake's lawyer called the claims "categorically false," and the next day, a judge struck the "improper" letter from the record. However, a source claimed that Blake and Taylor's friendship was still left "fractured" in the wake of it. "Their friendship has halted," a source purportedly close to Taylor told People last month. "Taylor wants no part in this drama," the source added, before clarifying it didn't mean they were "not no longer friends" — they were just "taking some space." Neither Taylor nor Blake addressed the report at the time, but now, almost a month on, a source has offered an update, telling People their friendship still "isn't the same." "[They] aren't as close and haven't been spending as much time together as they did in the past," the source said. However, they claimed Taylor and Blake are trying to get back "on good terms." I guess we'll see what happens. In the meantime, BuzzFeed has reached out to reps for Taylor, Blake, and Justin for comment on the latest report.

Taraji P. Henson Shares The Personal Reason She Took Her Latest Acting Role
When life imitates art, playing a role can stir up echoes of the past — a lesson Taraji P. Henson revisited in her latest film. Henson, a Washington, D.C. native and a proud Howard University graduate, recently portrayed Janiyah, a struggling single mother in Tyler Perry's new film 'Straw.' It's a narrative Henson knows intimately, having been a single mother herself — a connection she spoke candidly about during a Wednesday episode of 'The View.' 'She's a single mother. She can't get ahead to save her life — and I've been in that situation before,' Henson said. 'But the difference between me is that I had an incredible support group.' The 'Empire' actor went on to reflect more on her own journey, crediting the presence of a strong 'family' and 'great sister circle' that helped lighten her load. The character of Janiyah, by contrast, is isolated — and Henson acknowledged that too many women live in that reality every day. 'I want them to feel seen,' she said. Earlier in the interview, Henson elaborated on why she felt compelled to take on the role. 'I love roles where I get to give a voice to the voiceless — because people who feel unseen need to know that they're not alone, and that people do see you,' Henson explained. She added that she's drawn to roles that 'will force the audience to lead with more grace and understanding — because you can never truly judge a book by its cover.' Taraji P.
