James Bond favourite addresses split from fiancé after Lily Allen 'first date'
The Happy Valley star, who has been in the running to take over the coveted Bond role for several years, split from Poots last year in what he has now said was an 'abrupt' end to their relationship.
The 39-year-old said he found the break-up 'hard' but said they would remain friends, although he did not name Poots.
Speaking at a talk on The Information stage at Glastonbury Festival on Thursday, Norton added: 'I was about to have kids, about to get married, all that kind of stuff, and my life just turned around, completely changed direction.
'I thought I lost the person, but I also lost the life that I was about to lead, and the kids that we named, all that kind of stuff.
'And actually, in the last year and a half, I have gone through the most monumental change as a result and I feel like I've grown up, I feel like I've become a man.
'I suddenly feel like I've grown up, I found some friends, relationships, the outpouring of love from my family around me was amazing.
'But so much has been born from that massive, radical change.'
It comes after Lily Allen, 40, has been spotted on an apparent date with Norton after her own split from Stranger Things star David Harbour, 50.
After meeting on celebrity dating app Raya in 2019, the couple married the following year.
However, in late 2024 Lily described 'not being in a great place mentally', before it was later revealed she'd split from David, who was then accused of having an affair. More Trending
The pair were spotted at Lido Festival in London, which was headlined by acts including Massive Attack, Jamie xx, Charli XCX and London Grammar.
On Saturday they were snapped shunning the VIP areas to go into the crowds and watch artists together, including Charli.
Weighing in on the pics, body language expert Judi James commented on what she suspected was a first date.
'The body language here does suggests this is a date but it looks very much like a first date, when two people are maybe still just claiming to be friends,' she explained.

Channel 4's ‘nerve-shredding' thriller is now available to binge
Buckle up, because Channel 4 is about to drop a 'heart-pounding' new thriller with a national treasure of a lead star. From the makers of Slow Horses, In Flight will hit screens tonight, with none other than Katherine Kelly taking the lead. The former Coronation Street actress is a failsafe when it comes to TV dramas these days, having played huge roles in The Long Shadow, Happy Valley, and the highly decorated Mr Bates vs the Post Office, to name just a few. But now, her work sees her take to the skies for a crime drama that will, quite literally, have you gasping for breath. In the series directed by Chris Baugh, Kelly plays a flight attendant named Jo Conran whose son has been arrested and locked up in Bulgaria. The teenager is sentenced to 15 years behind bars, catapulting Jo into a terrifying criminal underworld as she entangles herself with a gang that has inside knowledge of his case. As her mundane life very quickly starts to spiral, the single mother is blackmailed into drug smuggling, while her son maintains his innocence after being accused of murder. With fast-paced storytelling and a high-pressure backdrop, the six-parter is guaranteed to get your mind racing and chest tightening, as Jo goes to extremes to protect her boy, making impossible choices along the way. Speaking ahead of the show's release this evening, as shooting took place last November, Innocent actress Kelly, 45, said: 'I am really excited to be taking on the role of Jo, and I can't wait to tell her compelling story. 'I am delighted to be working with Buccaneer Media again, and it's a joy to be filming in Belfast.' And when the former soap star announced her latest role on social media and shared a preview pic of herself in character aboard the aircraft, fans were quick to express their own excitement. 'Will definitely be watching!', commented Instagram user @cheekychic_biarritz. 'I cannot wait to watch this!!!! 👏👏', wrote @rachelemmawoodington. 'Katherine is a absolutely amazing actor 👌❤️🎥 [sic]', added @superfitguy. As well as Kelly, the cast comprises historical drama star Stuart Martin as gang member Cormac, star of Netflix's Hostage, Ashley Thomas as London airport customs officer Dom, and The Fall's Bronagh Waugh as Melanie. Rising star Harry Cadby also plays Sonny, Heartstopper's Corinna Brown portrays Kayla, and Black Mirror star Ambreen Razia is Zara. As for the behind-the-camera crew, there are plenty of established names on board, assuring viewers that they are in safe hands. The series is written and co-created by Mike Walden, who worked on Marcella and Whitstable Pearl, and Adam Randall of Slow Horses and iBoy. In a teasy statement, the pair called In Flight '[their] spin on the noir genre, a high-stakes, stylish, romantic thriller with iconic characters and nerve-shredding action.' They added: 'Jo is a character close to our hearts. She is an ordinary woman facing extraordinary odds. We can't wait for audiences to meet her.' Rebecca Dundon, Executive Producer at production company Fremantle, also called the drama 'a surprising, propulsive standout—a high-stakes action crime thriller that combines the intensity of international drug smuggling with the emotional depth of a mother's relentless quest to save her son'. 'Set against the high-pressure world of global travel, this series offers a fresh, commercially powerful mix of suspense, sacrifice, and gripping drama,' she promised. Lily Allen moving out of swanky New York pad after sad David Harbour split
Smile star, Lily Allen, used to share a New York townhouse with her ex, Stranger Things star, David Harbour, but now they've split up, she's made a huge change Lily Allen has confirmed she's moving out of her home in New York following her split with David Harbour. The Smile star, 40, and Stranger Things actor, 50, got hitched in 2020, but called it quits last year amid reports of David's infidelity. Mum-of-two, Lily, bought the art deco home in Brooklyn with David shortly after their nuptials in Vegas and it even featured in posh magazine, Architectural Digest, thanks to its impressive features and stylish decor. However, Lily, has now left the property and bought an ex-council flat in London, where she's been busy throwing herself into decorating, which she says has 'helped' her through her 'hard time'. It comes as the star was spotted in the capital, wearing a diamond band on her wedding finger. READ MORE: Princess Andre eyes up Kylie Jenner empire as Katie Price says she's been 'shut out' Lily told The Mirror that she's been taking inspiration from interior design magazines for her new pad, which is believed to be in Notting Hill, sharing: "I'm really enjoying those at the moment. I've obviously had quite a hard time and that's really helped me." She also spoke about her new purchase, which she'll live in with her two daughters, on her Miss Me? podcast back in March, as she chatted to co-host Miquita Oliver. She shared: "This flat that I've bought, is in a social housing building, I have kind of given myself a 'get out' clause because it is slap bang in the area which I grew up in, so I don't feel like I am coming from outside and coming into the area and gentrifying it." Lily added: "I have wanted to live in this building since I was a baby, it's been a dream of mine forever and finally a flat became available in here and I was in a position to buy it and I did. But I know people have got judgement around it." With Parisian-inspired rooms and an enormous walk-in wardrobe, Lily's former townhouse was a sight to behold. However, the singer admitted she felt 'incredibly low' and lonely in New York as she opened up about her break-up. The Londoner, who confirmed her split from David in January, revealed that she felt 'extremely heavy' as she 'doesn't have that much to do here' in the city. She moved to Brooklyn in 2020 to be closer to David, enrolling her daughters in local schools. However, it's now all over for the couple, with Lily now back in Blighty and reportedly signed up to exclusive dating app Raya in an effort to move on from her marriage. She has already been romantically linked to actor James Norton. However, it was recently reported that he had been getting cosy with someone else. Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: "James and his female pal certainly didn't care who was looking. They were happy sitting outside the bar getting very cosy with one another despite the scorching temperatures across London." They added: "At one point, the woman was seen resting her hand on James' bare knees as they engaged in a deep conversation. It's a stark contrast from his recent date with Lily Allen, but it's clear that he's not short of female attention."
