Marvel Reportedly Developing Long-Awaited MCU Sequel

Screen Geek11-07-2025
In addition to introducing new superheroes and projects, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its sequels, and now one long-awaited MCU sequel could finally be happening. According to a new report, Marvel is developing a follow-up to one of the franchise's newer properties, one that fans have been clamoring for.
As shared in a new report, the sequel is actually potentially being set up by the events of Ironheart , which finally introduces Mephisto. The comic book character has similarly been demanded by longtime fans of the MCU, and Sacha Baron Cohen has finally brought him to life.
Of course, this opens many doors for other storylines in the MCU, including this alleged sequel project.
Here's what The Cosmic Circus first began their report on that front according to their sources:
'Marvel Studios currently has plans to adapt the comic event known as Damnation , a major 2018 storyline starring the Midnight Sons. The Midnight Sons team in the comic includes Blade, Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Moon Knight (as Marc Spector), and Doctor Voodoo.'
As for Damnation , the comic book storyline revolves around Las Vegas being taken over by Mephisto in his efforts to create Hell on Earth. This would be the perfect setup for a potential Midnight Sons movie, something which has been reportedly in development for quite some time alongside the likes of whatever's happening with Blade . Though this isn't the only project in the works.
In addition to the Damnation storyline, which could lead to a Midnight Sons movie tying together several other properties together, there are some sequel projects in the works. This includes a potential long-anticipated sequel to the Disney Plus series Moon Knight . While information on this alleged sequel is scarce, it's said to depict a story where 'Marc Spector and Steven Grant would be forced to solve a mystery that would eventually bring them face-to-face with the third personality, Jake Lockley.'
So, in addition to a direct sequel to the MCU series Moon Knight , the titular Marvel character could also make an additional appearance for Midnight Sons . Fans would get proper continuations with most of these characters, including Moon Knight, before leading into a major crossover event not unlike the Avengers films.
Of course, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt until formally announced by Disney and Marvel Studios. Though based on what we've seen them release so far, it's clear that they want to start exploring the MCU's supernatural side sooner rather than later.

Quentin Tarantino Explains Why He 'Pulled The Plug' On ‘The Movie Critic' As His Final Film

After Deadline reported last year that Quentin Tarantino dropped The Movie Critic as his 10th and final film, he's providing some insight to the decision. The 2x Oscar winner recently explained that although he 'was very happy' with what he wrote originally as an eight-part series and then translated into a feature-length script but 'wasn't really that excited' when it came time for pre-production. I mean, I can do it whenever I want. I mean, it's already written. So OK, let me just not start it right now,' he explained his thought process on The Church of Tarantino podcast. 'Let me try writing it as a movie and let me see if it's better that way. And I was like, 'Oh, OK, no, I think this is going to be the movie.' And then it wasn't. I pulled the plug on it. And the reason I pulled the plug, it's a little crazy.' Although Tarantino said he 'really, really likes' The Movie Critic, he noted, 'But there was a challenge that I gave to myself when I did it. Can I take the most boring profession in the world and make it an interesting movie?' 'Every Tarantino title promises so much, except The Movie Critic,' he explained. 'Who wants to see a TV show about a f***ing movie critic? Who wants to see a movie called The Movie Critic? If I can actually make a movie or a TV show about somebody who watches movies interesting, that is an accomplishment. 'It's a spiritual sequel to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood in so far as they take place in the same world and they take place in the same town. But there were no crossover characters. Cliff Booth was never in The Movie Critic. That's all a bunch of bull****. That never was the case ever, ever, ever.' Tarantino added, 'I was so excited about the writing, but I wasn't really that excited about dramatizing what I wrote once we were in pre-production.' After The Movie Critic was teased as Tarantino's farewell film in 2023, with Brad Pitt attached to star, Deadline exclusively reported last April that the auteur simply had a change of heart and opted not to move forward with the project. Sources close to the director said he was going back to the drawing board to figure out what that final movie will be. Tarantino said the movie was set in 1977 California, 'based on a guy who really lived but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag.' Although a spiritual sequel to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood (2019) isn't in the cards for Tarantino's final directorial outing, Pitt is reprising his role as stuntman Cliff Booth for the upcoming Netflix movie off-shoot The Adventures of Cliff Booth, directed by David Fincher. Kaytranada Returns With New Album ‘Ain't No Damn Way'

For the second summer in a row, Haitian-Canadian producer Kaytranada is getting people dancing with a new studio album. The Grammy-winning DJ has released his fourth album Ain't No Damn Way!, the follow-up to last year's Timeless. Kaytranada gave little warning for the release, announcing the LP earlier this week and dropping lead single 'Space Invader' shortly thereafter. Like with Timeless, Kaytranada plays with a wide range of sounds and rhythms on the project, from more upbeat tracks like 'Championship' and 'Don't Worry Babe / I Got U Babe' to laid-back offerings like 'Things' and 'Shine Your Light For We.' He even samples TLC's 'Let's Do It Again' on closing track 'Do It! (Again!).' In recent years, Kaytranada has fully stepped into his power, unafraid to create beats or make musical tweaks that he feel might not resonate with listeners or collaborators. 'I always used to be very shy in the studio and sometimes let the artists just do their thing because I didn't want to correct them or anything. It took me a while to understand, OK, I got to be the one that says 'Do it like this,'" he told Rolling Stone last year. "I don't have a leader mentality. I'm learning to do that now.' Now, Kaytranada is 'trying to make Grammy-winning albums.' 'I just want to be remembered as one of the greats in terms of producing, not only dance and electronic but also just production in general,' he told Billboard. Kaytranada hits the road with Justice on a co-headlining tour across North America this fall. It all kicks off Oct. 16 in Vancouver and wraps up Nov. 16 in Miami. Before then, fans can listen to the producer featured on Teyana Taylor's forthcoming album Escape Room, due out next week.

If you're looking for the Quordle answer for Saturday, August 16, 2025, read on—I'll share some clues, tips, and strategies, and finally the solution. Beware, there are spoilers below for August 16, Quordle #1300! Keep scrolling if you want some hints (and then the answer) to today's Quordle game. (If you play Wordle, Connections, or Strands, check out our hints for those games, too.) How to play Quordle Quordle lives on the Merriam-Webster website. A new puzzle goes live every day. If you've never played, it's a twist on The New York Times' daily Wordle game, in which you have a limited number of attempts to guess a five-letter mystery word. In Quordle, though, you're simultaneously solving four Wordle-style puzzles, and each of your guesses gets applied to the four puzzles simultaneously. Due to the increased difficulty, Quordle grants you nine guesses (12 if you play on 'Chill' mode, or eight if you play on 'Extreme'), rather than Wordle's six. To start, guess a five-letter word. The letters of the word in each of the four quadrants will turn green if they're correct, yellow if you have the right letter in the wrong place, or gray if the letter isn't in that secret word at all. Ready for the hints? Let's go! Can you give me a hint for today's Quordle? Upper left: A state of being indebted. Upper right: Might make your windows rattle. Lower left: Playground staple. Lower right: Tippity top of society. Does today's Quordle have any double or repeated letters? Upper left: No. Upper right: No. Lower left: No. Lower right: Yes, a repeated vowel. What letters do today's Quordle words start with? Upper left: O Upper right: Q Lower left: S Lower right: E What letters do today's Quordle words end with? Upper left: G Upper right: E Lower left: E Lower right: E What is the solution to today's Quordle? Upper left: OWING Upper right: QUAKE Lower left: SLIDE Lower right: ELITE How I solved today's Quordle My starter words, SLATE and MOUND, get me a good bit of the way there today. The bottom left might be SLIME. Oops, I messed up: It's SLIDE. The bottom right is probably ELITE. Yep. The upper left could be OWING. Yeah! I thought the upper right might be SUAVE, but there's no S. Maybe it starts with a QU. QUAKE? Yay. The best starter words for Quordle What should you play for that first guess? We can look to Wordle for some general guidelines. The best starters tend to contain common letters, to increase the chances of getting yellow and green squares to guide your guessing. (And if you get all grays when guessing common letters, that's still excellent information to help you rule out possibilities.) There isn't a single 'best' starting word, but The New York Times's Wordle analysis bot has suggested starting with one of these: CRANE TRACE SLANT CRATE CARTE Meanwhile, an MIT analysis found that you'll eliminate the most possibilities in the first round by starting with one of these: SALET REAST TRACE CRATE SLATE Other good picks might be ARISE or ROUND. Words like ADIEU and AUDIO get more vowels in play, but you could argue that it's better to start with an emphasis on consonants, using a starter like RENTS or CLAMP. Choose your strategy, and see how it plays out. Solve the daily Crossword
