Dianna Russini discusses Bo Nix and Broncos' outlook with Rich Eisen
"Let's just start with the star of the show with Bo Nix," said Russini. "He's different this year, Rich. He's a big boy now. I was with him last year (at) this time, and my favorite question to ask second-year coaches, quarterbacks, players even is, 'What's the difference? Take me through your first training camp compared to now.' Because Bo and I had spoken last year, he was so transparent. He's like, 'Whatever I was saying to you, was not true. I didn't know what I was doing!' He was so relatable. He was like, 'I was just trying to get through. I memorized the plays, I didn't understand the plays.' He went from just doing it to understanding the 'why' of it."
Later on in the interview, Russini spoke about expectations around the Broncos from their ownership to players. "They are not afraid to talk Super Bowl," said Russini. "You know, sometimes you go to these teams and it's like, 'Let's just focus on today. We gotta make sure we get our lunch in; we got to get through this walkthrough.' This team's like, 'We want the Super Bowl,' which tells me they got the confidence because they're seeing it."
That is great news to hear in Broncos Country! After having several mediocre years of not knowing who will be coach, quarterback or having a change in ownership, stability and championship expectations have returned in Denver.

Shedeur Sanders to get the start in Browns preseason opener
The Cleveland Browns continue to spin the quarterback carousel throughout training camp, and the spinning wheel has stopped on Shedeur Sanders as the starting quarterback for Cleveland's first preseason game. Shedeur Sanders expected to start for Browns in Week 1 preseason game
Cleveland Browns fans will get their first look at 2025 fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders in live game action, projected to start at quarterback in the team's Week 1 preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, Mary Kay Cabot reported Tuesday. Sanders finds himself in line for the start amidst injuries to fellow rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett, who's heading into his fourth NFL season. Veteran Joe Flacco was recently listed as the team's intended starter for the 2025 season on the Browns' initial depth chart, with Pickett listed as the backup, followed by Gabriel at No. 3 and Sanders last on the depth chart at No. 4. The Browns' quarterback saga was one of the most-discussed stories of the offseason as Flacco, Pickett, Gabriel and Sanders all competed for the starting spot left by DeShaun Watson, who is expected to miss the season due to an Achilles injury. Although Sanders did not get many reps with the first team during camp, he stayed positive throughout the process. The former Colorado signal caller noted how the lack of repetitions did not affect his work ethic. "That's not my place to answer," Sanders told reporters Friday, via ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi. "I feel like it's not in my control, so I'm not even gonna think about that or have that even in my thought process." "There's a lot of people that wanna have the opportunity to be at this level, and I'm here, and I'm thankful to have the opportunity, so, whatever that is it is," Sanders added. "It doesn't really faze me. You gotta understand, we came all the way from an HBCU to a Power 5 [conference team], and now we here, so," he continued. "At this point, you look around, there's nothing that's a challenge, I would say." Sanders also had an impressive showing in Day 4 of camp, throwing three touchdowns during the workout, including this one to fellow rookie Luke Floriea. Cleveland will play three preseason games, starting with a game with the Panthers, with matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles and the LA Rams scheduled for mid and late August to follow. They will begin their regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals at home on September 7.

Patriots DB suffers season-ending injury at training camp practice
New England Patriots cornerback Marcellas Dial Jr. is done for the season after suffering a torn ACL during training camp practice on Monday. The team announced that Dial was going on injured reserve on Tuesday. Dial, a former sixth-round pick, was the only defensive player selected by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL draft. He was a regular contributor on special teams, but he also worked into the defensive mix as well, sparingly. He played in all 17 games and recorded 12 tackles and one forced fumble. This is certainly a disappointing injury for a player who looked to be on an upward trajectory. The Patriots have been banged up in the secondary in training camp. All-Pro cornerback Christian Gonzalez has been out with a hamstring injury, and veteran Carlton Davis, who has a history of missing games, is just now returning from an injury.
