Miley Cyrus fans outraged as singer, then 14, asked if she's pregnant in resurfaced clip

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Miley Cyrus was asked about her sex life by reporters when she was only 14 years old. A clip from the red carpet moment has resurfaced online
An old clip of Miley Cyrus from a red carpet event has been doing its rounds online as fans shared their shock over a reporter asking the then-14-year-old Disney star whether she was pregnant. The Flowers singer, now 32, rose to fame as Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel but her young age didn't stop people from starting rumours about her personal life.

Rumours swirled that she was pregnant, and she was questioned about the claims during a red carpet chat with Inside Edition and Extra TV in 2007. "I am not pregnant. I am 14 years old, and that is very lame because I'm a minor," she set the record straight as her mother, Trish Cyrus, stood behind her and shook her head.

"And yeah. So stupid. The main reason that I'm here tonight [is to] set the record straight," the then-teen said. "I think that people that make stuff up like that do that, [it's] kind of a cry for help, for attention."
During a different chat with Extra TV, she was asked: "Why do you think these rumours about you being pregnant still exist? [What] do you think they're still going around?"
"I don't know, I'm ready for them to make up something else so I can escape from it," she answered. "I think it's just people kind of wanting attention, but they didn't get the attention they wanted. It got turned back on me, and it was attention that I did not want at all. Thanks a lot, guys, good job."

Miley was also questioned about her fans' reactions to the rumours, to which the singer said: "It was really breaking my heart, so I thought it would really take me down.
"But the only thing it's done, it's put me in a position where everyone sees how supportive my fans are because all my fans have really stood strong and said 'No, that's not true'.

"I know that, and it's also giving me the street cred just to stand here and say that would be impossible, because I'm living my life the way I believe is right, and that is to stay pure."
The questions didn't end there as the reporter asked the young star whether she believed in 'no sex before marriage'. Miley responded: "No, I don't at all. So, I'm trying to stay true to that, 'cause you never know."
Fans slammed the invasive questions as they questioned why a child was being asked about her sex life. One user said on Reddit: "The fact that a 14-year-old had to handle that level of adult weirdness is honestly disturbing."

"I'm both amazed at the poise which this 14 year old conducts herself with, and the disgusted at the line of questioning from an adult," another added.

Nurses shares 'worst' baby names they've every heard during careers

A man has been left horrified after learning some of the 'worst' baby names NICU nurses have ever heard - and people are gobsmacked by the 'atrocious' monikers A nurse has shared the 'worst' baby names she's ever encountered during her years working in a hospital, leaving people utterly flabbergasted. This revelation came after a man asked a nurse to 'share the worst' names parents have picked while visiting the his wife, a question he admits to asking whenever possible for amusement. ‌ On Reddit, he revealed: "My wife and I asked all the nurses what the worst names they've seen while working there. The really bonkers ones I had multiple nurses confirm were real: J' pronounced Japostrophe, Pheline pronounced Felony, Cash Money with variations like Ca$h Money and Kashmoney." In complete disbelief, he quickly took to social media to share these peculiar baby names with the Reddit community r/tragedeigh, an online term used to describe "a given name that has been deliberately misspelled or completely made up to appear more unique than it actually is". ‌ Reacting to his post, one user commented: "There was a baby called Thumbelina when my daughter was in the NICU. This was 23 years ago I thought her name choice was atrocious. I was so wrong. It gets way worse.." ‌ Another user chimed in: "Back in the early 70s I had a children's record of Hans Christian Anderson stories (narrated by Danny Kaye, who played him in the movie). One of the stories was called Thumbelina." ‌ A third user exclaimed: "Oh my lawd! These are horrid. People name their kids anything just because they can." Yet another user added: "Met a kid with the middle name Dinosaur and have to admit I was a bit jealous. "When I was pregnant with my second daughter I met a woman who had just given birth to her first daughter, Mars... also kind of cool, but I prefer more traditional names for my kids." One final user commented: "It's worth mentioning that OB and peds nurses have a certain sense of humour about kids names. "I suspect it's common to see who can come up with the best fake names and they always get told as if they are 100% real. "If you had to deal with crazy parents all the time, you'd develop a weird sense of humour too."

This new site makes finding a great NYC restaurant way less annoying

If you've ever fallen down a 20-tab rabbit hole trying to pick a decent dinner spot in the city only to wind up at a place with $28 truffle fries and the ambiance of a dentist's office, there's a new tool in town that might save your sanity (and your date night). Meet a just-launched site that pulls together the internet's food chatter—Reddit threads, Instagram tags and (soon) editorial articles—and compiles it into clean, searchable profiles for more than 2,700 New York restaurants. Instead of toggling between Yelp, Google, Reddit and the like, you can now browse everything in one place, complete with highlight dishes, sentiment summaries, and a whole mess of handy tags like ' date-night,' ' Chinese ' or 'cash-only.' The site is the brainchild of Steven (who prefers not to use his last name for anonymity reasons), a 29-year-old software engineer and lifelong Morningside Heights local. His inspiration? A Restaurant Week disaster six years ago, when he sent a friend to a Yelp-praised restaurant that turned out to be such a dud it torpedoed the poor guy's date. 'That moment stuck with me,' Steven told Time Out. 'I realized that finding a truly great restaurant in NYC requires more than relying on a single source.' So he built Starved as a side project, working nights and weekends from April to July. The result is something between a crowd-sourced food archive and a digital cheat sheet; it's more curator than critic. The site doesn't generate its own reviews; instead, it surfaces the voices of others: top Reddit comments, standout Instagram posts and soon, mentions in editorial outlets like the Infatuation, T he New York Times and yours truly, Time Out. There are already more than 36,000 references in the system, including real-time picks like the most upvoted Restaurant Week restaurants. You can browse by neighborhood, cuisine, vibe or even dishes (yes, there's a 'cacio e pepe' tag). While Steven has no plans to monetize the site ('just trying to recoup server costs'), he's hopeful it'll make New Yorkers' most stressful daily decision a little easier. 'I believe choosing the right restaurant in NYC still requires personal judgment,' he says. 'I hope to help make the decision-making process easier.'

Oasis fans go wild as Gallagher brothers are seen in their FIRST backstage photo together after Liam's 'new measure to avoid feuding with brother Noel was revealed'

Oasis fans were sent into a spin as the very first backstage snap of the Gallagher brothers together on tour was revealed. Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, are reportedly ' kept apart' in 'military style operation' when not on stage. But a picture which surfaced on Reddit on Monday suggests that may not be the case. The brothers were seen backstage at one of their epic reunion gigs with two young fans, and both Liam and Noel looked relatively happy to be there. Posing with two of their young fans, Liam was seen cheering and punching the air while Noel adopted a more muted expression. Fans went wild over the snap, the first one seen of the pair together off-stage, with some even asking if it was photoshopped. They commented: '2 years ago I probably would have said this was photoshopped. I just did not think this would happen,'; 'Never thought I'd see a picture of Noel and Liam where they are more excited than anyone else in it. Good news- things on tour are going well,'; 'Those lucky lads, im happy they met their heroes,'; 'Why do they still pose the same way it's adorable 'A year ago, someone would have called this AI.' Liam and Noel's mum Peggy is reportedly keeping her once feuding sons in check amid their Oasis reunion tour, it was recently revealed. The pair are reportedly kept apart, but now their beloved mother, 81, is also on hand to help avoid a bust up. The warring siblings' fractious relationship came to a head in 2009, after a backstage fight in Paris led to Noel leaving the iconic Britpop band and they have been embroiled in a very public feud ever since. But Liam is said to be 'loving' spending time with his mum, to whom he is very close, and her presence is helping him 'keep his head down' and stay in the 'best mindset'. Fans went wild over the snap, the first one seen of the pair together off-stage, with some even asking if it was photoshopped Proud Peggy is also reportedly ecstatic ahead of all her sons on stage at Wembley next week, with eldest Paul, 59, performing a DJ set ahead of the main show. A source told The Sun: 'Liam is incredibly close to Peggy and has loved spending time with her during the tour. [She] has always stayed out of their disagreements and just wants the best for her sons.' 'Liam has been keeping his head down and concentrating on the tour. His main priority is staying in the best mindset possible.' MailOnline contacted Oasis' reps for comment at the time. But despite managing to put their difference aside to get back on stage, they have reportedly required separate dressing rooms and transport to avoid a clash and resulting 'PR and financial nightmare'. A source told The Mirror: 'They will not be in each other's pockets and effectively be separate entities that come together for necessary promotional work and the gigs. Other than that they will be apart for much of this reunion. 'Rehearsals will be the first time that they will be together for a significant amount of time working again. The atmosphere is sure to be electric, but also a little edgy.' In 2019, Peggy told her youngest son Liam that he was going to bury the hatchet with his brother the following year, firmly declaring: 'And that's it.' Since Oasis' split in 2009, Peggy is said to have continually urged her sons to put aside their differences - telling Noel and Liam that putting an end to their feud would have been the 'best 80th birthday present'. Earlier this month Liam and Noel's estranged father hit out at his sons by saying they 'don't know f***ing music'. Irish-born Thomas Augustin Gallagher hasn't seen the Oasis duo for years, who've never forgiven him for how they treated their mother when they were boys. Since the duo reunited a video has come to light of Thomas - who goes by Tommy - dismissing his sons' illustrious career. In the 2018 video, TikToker Jack Burke was filming in Manchester when Tommy walked past and intervened, saying: 'Have you heard of the band Oasis? I'm their father. Noel and Liam Gallagher.' When Jack asked for his name, he said: 'Thomas Augustus Gallagher' - pulling his passport out of his pocket to show to Jack.
