The Premiership champions will take part in a four-team pre-season tournament in the picturesque Italian city
A group of diehard Celtic fans based in Italy are planning to show the world just how much they love the Hoops when Brendan Rodgers and Co roll into Lombardy for the Como Cup later this month.
The Parkhead giants will compete in a four-team tournament alongside Ajax, Al-Ahli of the Saudi Pro League and hosts Como in the first edition of the new Football on The Lake Festival.

Celtic face Eredivisie side Ajax in a semi-final clash on July 24, with the winners going onto take on the victors of the other last four tie three days later – a tie that could see Nicolas Kuhn face off with the Hoops if his £17.2m move goes through as expected.

The losers of the two games will also contest a third-place play-off on July 26.
The tournament in the scenic town will give Hoops fans the chance to sample what the scenic Italian city of Como has to offer, with the Serie A side's Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadium just a few steps away from the famous Lake Como.
And those making the journey from further afield are set to be welcomed by Parkhead fanatics from the Lecco Celtic supporter's club.
A group of 25 supporters will make the short trip to Como from nearby Lecco to help generate an atmosphere ahead of the tournament. The Lecco fan group founded in 2019 are one of five officially recognised Celtic supporters clubs' in Italy.
The fan group are based in Lecco's Shamrock Irish Pub and are said to have organised five nights of music from Irish artists Richie Prendergast and Eimehar Rebel to give fans making the trip an authentic experience.
Briefs for the matches are not particularly cheap, with supporters in the Celtic designated areas of the stadium having to fork out €35 (£30) to see their team up close.

And while other Celtic supporters' clubs in the country are believed to have turned their noses down at the prices for the tournament, Lecco fan group president Paolo Gulisano insists his party could not pass up the opportunity to show their love for their team.
Speaking to LeccoToday, he said: "As soon as we learned of Celtic's participation in the Como Cup, we took action to organize ourselves and to not miss our contribution to the team.
"Seeing Celtic on our lake will be a unique opportunity and we certainly could not be discouraged by an objectively high price for a summer friendly."
Ahead of their trip to Italy, Celtic are over in Ireland next Tuesday (July 8) to take on Cork City. Rodgers' side will then venture to Lisbon to face Sporting eight days later before welcoming Newcastle to Celtic Park on Saturday, July 19.

Lewis Hamilton rues costly late error that cost him front-row grid spot

Max Verstappen came from nowhere to take his third pole of the year with a brilliant lap to silence the Silverstone crowd. Oscar Piastri finished second with McLaren team-mate and championship rival Lando Norris third. George Russell will occupy fourth on the grid for Mercedes, while Hamilton – despite appearing to be in the mix for his 105th career pole and his first in Ferrari colours – finished only fifth. Hamilton's transfer from Mercedes to the Italian giants has so far failed to live up to its blockbuster billing, but the driver who has won the British Grand Prix a record nine times, was fastest in Q2, and then headed into the final runs in the decisive Q3 with only Piastri ahead of him. Silverstone held its breath. However, disaster struck at the concluding right-hander when Hamilton ran ever so slightly off line. The error denied him at least a spot on the front row, and possibly even his first pole in 714 days, with the top five separated by only two tenths. A downbeat Hamilton said: 'I just had understeer at Turn 16 and lost the time that I had. It probably cost me at least a second. The lap was really, really nice, it was just that last corner. 'I don't know if it was the kerb that sent me a little bit wide? I just lost it. It was just over a tenth so that would definitely have put me on the front row. 'The understeer is something that you get with this car. It is what you do when you are overdriving to get that extra bit of time.' How did Max do that? 👏 — Sky Sports F1 (@SkySportsF1) July 5, 2025 Hamilton has failed to finish in the top three in his first 11 races as a Ferrari driver – the deepest he has ever gone into a season without a podium. However, the seven-time world champion has an outside chance of changing that run, and extending his stunning record of stepping on to the rostrum in every race staged at Silverstone since 2014. He will also take some comfort for out-qualifying Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc, one spot behind him, for only the fourth time this year. Hamilton continued: 'I've got four really fast cars right in front of me. I want to go forwards if I can. I just want to be in the fight.' Verstappen will line up from the front following a scintillating lap which allowed him to beat Piastri by 0.103 seconds with Norris third, 0.118 seconds adrift. Verstappen's Red Bull team-mate Yuki Tsunoda qualified only 12th. Norris starts his home race 15 points behind Piastri in the world championship, and he will have to force himself ahead of his team-mate to prevent the Australian from extending his title advantage. 'I'm not going to be unhappy with third, although I'd love to have been on top here at Silverstone,' said Norris. 'It is going to be fun tomorrow, a good battle between all of us, and I am looking forward to it.'

Jannik Sinner surpasses Roger Federer record with serene start to Wimbledon

Pedro Martinez was his latest victim, the Spanish world number 52 – who was carrying a shoulder injury – winning just five games in a 6-1 6-3 6-1 defeat on Centre Court. While 19 seeds perished over the opening two rounds in the men's draw, Sinner has looked unsinkable. Smooooth from Sinner 😮‍💨 He strolls past Martinez in straight sets to advance…@wimbledon | #wimbledon — ATP Tour (@atptour) July 5, 2025 In reaching the fourth round, the 23-year-old Italian has dropped only 17 games from his three matches. Roger Federer previously held the record for the least games lost in the first three rounds at Wimbledon, 19 in 2004. 'I watched matches of him and the classics, the all-time classics,' said Sinner. 'The tennis was for sure a little bit different in a way of more serve and volleys back in the days. The grass was different. 'But yeah, obviously I enjoyed it so much, watching Roger play. I never played against him in an official match. But in the other way, how they played, it was amazing. 'About the games lost, this is whatever. I'm not looking at these kind of records. I know that everything can change very quickly from one round to the other.' When Bjorn Borg won the title without dropping a set in 1976 he had conceded 27 games over the first three matches, while Federer – the only other man to achieve the feat, in 2017 – had lost 28. The world number one is yet to have his serve broken and has faced just eight break points, four of which were repelled against Martinez. He has spent only five hours and 23 minutes on court so far, which is six minutes less than his French Open final defeat by Carlos Alcaraz last month. Sinner will face Bulgarian 19th seed Grigor Dimitrov, who has had to retire from matches through injury at the last three grand slams but looks in tip-top shape after reaching the fourth round with a 6-3 6-4 7-6 (0) win over Austria's Sebastian Ofner. Another Italian raced through with Flavio Cobolli dispatching Czech 15th seed Jakub Mensik 6-2 6-4 6-2. Cobolli will meet Marin Cilic while a third star from Italy, Lorenzo Sonego, battled past American Brandon Nakashima in a five-setter lasting five hours and four minutes on a packed – and extremely loud – Court 14. Sonego will take on American 10th seed Ben Shelton, who is another player yet to drop a set after a 6-3 7-6 (4) 6-2 win over Marton Fucsovics of Hungary.

Boss Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for new wide men as Nicolas Kuhn heads for Como in a £17million exit. Sign up for the Celtic newsletter Sign up 2 Isak Jansson of Rapid Vienna could be on his way to Parkhead SunSport understands that £3m-rated Swede Jansson is one of those on Celts' radar after an impressive campaign. The 23-year-old joined Rapid as Kuhn's direct replacement after his Parkhead switch in January 2024. Jansson has been a standout in the Austrian Bundesliga over the last 18 months, and is now being chased by clubs across Europe. Lazio, Fiorentina and Ligue 1 new boys Paris FC have all been linked with moves for the Sweden Under-21 cap. Jansson hit nine goals and claimed six assists for Rapid last season as he helped them reach the Conference League quarter-finals. Celtic boss Rodgers insists it's vital they get it right by replacing the players they are selling. Kuhn's move to Como will be confirmed within days, and the Hoops chief is eager to land reinforcements as quickly as possible, with Jota also out injured until 2026. Rodgers said: 'With the likes of Nicolas, there was interest towards the end of last season. And then that followed through into pre-season. 'That means once we have the value that we think, they can go on and get away early. 'With Matt O'Riley, we didn't get the value until late on. But what is important is you have to freshen the squad. The diggers move in as Celtic Park pitch is dug up 'I'm really pleased with some of the guys we've brought in — and we need to bring in more. 'We will only sell if the valuation is met. Likewise, players coming in, we have to get the right players. 'It's not just about getting players. We've brought in some that can do really well for us, but we hope to do more. 'At this moment, it's really about getting the team ready and prepared and building the squad.' Jansson started his career with Swedish minnows Skene IF and Kalmar FF, before moving to Spanish Second Division side Cartagena. Rapid signed him after his pace and dribbling stats were flagged up by their data analysts. After an initial loan, Jansson moved to Austria permanently last summer for around £200,000. His value has rocketed, and Rapid admit they will struggle to hold on to him in this window. Jansson is right-footed and can operate on both flanks, but prefers to play off the left wing. Speaking recently, he said: 'I know there are many teams at our games. I also know the teams that are interested in me and have contacted my agent. 'But I feel comfortable in Rapid as I am developing every day.' Celts have also been tracking Antwerp ace Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sarpsborg star Sondre Orjasaeter. Meanwhile, stopper Maik Nawrocki has joined Hannover 96 on loan. 2 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
