CD Projekt Red delays Cyberpunk 2077 version 2.3 update
CD Projekt Red first announced Patch 2.3 on June 5, 2025,, targeting a June 26 launch date. However, that isn't going to happen because the developer has recently announced a delay for this particular patch.
On Twitter, the official handle of the game has stated that it will
'need some more time'
to make sure that the developers are happy and satisfied about the patch. We also didn't get an exact date of this update's release, which makes this news even more disappointing.
However, CD Projekt Red promised that it is
'aiming for a scope similar to Update 2.2.'
Now what does it mean? The version 2.3 update was initially believed to feature no additional content or DLC, just some major bug fixes, along with UI improvements.
There were rumors that the upcoming update would add some polished NPC behaviours and new repeatable gigs, but nothing was confirmed.
Now, as per CD Projekt Red's promise, we might see content additions via this upcoming update, similar to the Version 2.2 update. Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 was released on December 10, 2024, in line with the game's 4th anniversary.
It brought a lot of substantial additions to the game, especially an overhaul transformation to the character customization option. Besides this, the Photo Mode, Vehicle Customization all got significant upgrades. It also added the Balatro collaboration quest. So, we hope this sudden delay is worth a wait.

When the game initially launched, players expected a usable metro system for traversing Night City, but only hollow station shells serving as fast travel points were available. Years and multiple updates later, Cyberpunk 2077 has seen significant improvements, making it nearly unrecognisable from its initial release state. Despite these advancements, the metro system, even after update 2.1, has not yet reached its full potential. The latest update, version 2.1, introduced functional subway rides with 19 NCART stations across five colour-coded lines, offering an immersive, though passive, travel experience. However, this feature is reportedly seen by some as a partial measure compared to what was originally envisioned for a fully explorable and interactive metro system. Such an addition could fulfil an early promise, deepen the city's worldbuilding, and enhance moment-to-moment immersion. How Cyberpunk 2077's next update can upgrade NCART metro system Cyberpunk 2077's current NCART metro system focuses more on creating atmosphere than providing utility.
