Superyacht stewardess found dead with throat slashed in boat's engine room
Paige Bell, 20, was found dead last Thursday while the luxury boat, Far From It, was moored on Harbour Island.
She was discovered partially undressed with wounds to her neck and injuries to her arms.
Boat engineer Brigido Munoz, 39, has been charged with her murder.
He was denied bail and remanded in custody.
Paige, from Johannesburg, South Africa, was due to turn 21 next week, with a celebration planned to mark her birthday on Monday.
She was reported missing while on the boat, with colleagues saying they had not seen her for some time.
Officers then discovered her in the engine room with Munoz who had injuries to his arm which police said are consistent with a suicide attempt.
Munoz was taken to hospital and later charged with her murder.
Far From It hosts up to 10 guests with nine crew members, and included five suites.
It costs between £100,000 and £120,000 per week for vacations.
Former colleagues from Motor Yacht Sweet Emocean, where Paige worked until December 2024, wrote on a tribute to her on a GoFundMe page.
They said: 'Paige was more than a teammate, she was family.
'Her radiant spirit, infectious laughter, and boundless compassion made an unforgettable impact on everyone lucky enough to know her.
'Whether it was long days at sea or quiet moments under the stars, she brought light and warmth wherever she went.'
Paige's mum is now asking everyone to eat red velvet cake, which was daughter's favourite, and share a photo in her memory.
The GoFundMe page, which has already raised $42,000 of its initial $16,000 target, included tributes from friends.
One described Paife as a 'golden girl', and described her death as 'despicable'.

Family reveals horror new detail after husband is sucked into hospital MRI machine by his huge 20lb chain and killed
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MAN who tragically died after being pulled into an MRI machine by his 20-pound chain was stuck to the machine for an hour before being freed, his family claims. Keith McAllister, 61, suffered fatal injuries in the freak accident while his wife was undergoing an MRI scan at a clinic on New York's Long Island on Wednesday afternoon. In a GoFundMe set up for burial costs, Samantha Bodden revealed new details about her dad's horrific final moments. She wrote: "While my mother was laying on the table, the technician left the room to get her husband to help her off the table. "He forgot to inform him to take the chain he was wearing from around his neck off when the magnet sucked him in. "My mother and the tech tried for several minutes to release him before the police were called. "He was attached to the machine for almost an hour before they could release the chain from the machine." The grieving daughter went on to explain that Keith suffered several heart attacks after the incident. She added that, despite reports claiming Keith wasn't authorised to be in the room, it was the technician who brought him in. Wife Adrienne previously told News 12 Long Island that she asked the technician to bring her husband to hep her get up from the table. Keith was wearing a large metallic chain around his neck - which turned into a "torpedo" and caused him to be pulled off his feet and into the machine. Man who died after being sucked into MRI machine 'was brought into room by technician' before 'going limp in wife's arms Adrienne said she saw the scanning device "snatch him" as he approached her. "At that instant, the machine switched him around, pulled him in, and he hit the MRI," she said, adding, "He went limp in my arms, and this is still pulsating in my brain." Adrienne recounted the agonising moments when she told the technician to turn off the machine and call 911. She revealed that it was not the first time the pair had visited Nassau Open MRI, even claiming that the staff member had previously discussed Keith's huge chain. Keith used the chain regularly for weight training, his wife said. The powerful magnetic field generated by an MRI machine can pull metal objects in with great force. For this reason, patients are asked to remove metal items and change their clothes before having MRI scans or going near machines. Dr. Payal Sud, a doctor from North Shore University Hospital, told CBS: "The dangers [of not following protocol] could be catastrophic and it underscores why we have all the safety precautions in place. "If this was a chain that was wrapped around the neck, I could imagine any kind of strangulation injuries that could happen. Asphyxiation, cervical spine injuries." North Shore says that MRI machines can be especially dangerous for people with oxygen tanks, in wheelchairs or even those wearing magnetic jewelry.

Body of missing mum found in lake identified as Rachel Booth
A body found in the search for missing mum Rachel Booth has been formally identified as her. The 38-year-old was last seen buying a bottle of wine and milk from a petrol station on Saturday morning. She was last seen at Sandiway Garage in Northwich, Cheshire, at 3.50am on July 19. Her body was found in a lake in Oakmere, Cheshire, after two days of searches, police said. A police spokesperson said today: 'A body found in a lake in Oakmere has been formally identified as that of Rachel Booth. 'Rachel's family continue to be supported by specialist officers from Cheshire Police and they ask for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.' Police previously said there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Rachel's death. More Trending A file has been prepared for the coroner and an inquest will follow at a later date. At the time of her disappearance, police dogs helped in the search for her earlier this week. Drivers claimed they saw Rachel 'between 12.30 am and 1.15 am' walking in Minshull towards Crewe, adding: 'It seemed quite a random part of the road to be thumbing a lift. I wondered about a broken down car too, but didn't spot one anywhere.' Rachel's mum, Chrissie, said she believed the two sightings were real, and wrote on Facebook that her daughter had been wearing a yellow coat. Got a story? Mystery over death of Ukrainian anti-organised crime chief in Benidorm pool
A former official at Ukraine's Interior Ministry has been found dead at the very same Spanish resort where a Russian military defector was murdered. Ihor Hrushevskyi, the ex-head of the anti-crime police unit, was discovered in the town of Villajoyosa, a few miles from the resort popular with British tourists for its packaged holidays. The 61-year-old was floating face-down in the communal pool – no deeper than 1.5 metres – of the Cala Alta house complex, El Español reported. Neighbours pulled him out, performing CPR, but they were unable to save him and when paramedics arrived at the scene, he was pronounced dead. While there were no obvious signs of violence, blood was coming from one ear, so foul play has not been ruled out. The incident happened in the morning of June 29, but the identity of the man was only revealed this week. It was just a few months ago that Hrushevskyi had purchased a flat in one of the blocks and he was still renovating. His death comes a little more than a year after Maksim Kuzinovm – an ex-Russian helicopter pilot, who had deserted to Ukraine – was killed there. Police found his bullet-riddled body in the underground parking garage of that same resort. A burnt-out car apparently used by his attackers was found near the scene of the crime. The 28-year-old fled Russian and landed a Mi-8 helicopter in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv in August, 2023, while flying between two Russian bases. He had reportedly contacted the Ukrainian secret service to inform them of his decision to defect and they had promised him £397,000, protection for his family and new documents. More Trending A state TV report from October, in which Russian propagandists branded Kuzminov 'a traitor to the motherland', claimed that Russian intelligence operatives had received orders to assassinate him. Sergei Naryshkin, Russia's foreign intelligence chief, said at the time: 'In Russia it is customary to speak either good of the dead or nothing at all. 'This traitor and criminal became a moral corpse at the very moment when he planned his dirty and terrible crime.' Ukrainian officials have not yet commented on Hrushevskyi's death.
