Meet the star who plays Jesus on 'The Chosen'
The star who plays Jesus in the 'The Chosen' reveals why this adaption of Jesus' story is so impactful.
The wait is over: "The Chosen: Last Supper," the fifth season of TV's biblical epic, arrives on Amazon Prime June 15.
The eight-episode installment, which screened in theaters last March and April, resumes where Season 4 left off, capturing a crowd celebrating the arrival in Jerusalem of Jesus (Jonathan Roumie) at the start of the week (known as Palm Sunday) and ending before Jesus' arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.
'Season 5 is our most intense yet,' says Dallas Jenkins, creator of the first multi-season historical drama about Jesus. 'There are a million people all in one city, the enemies, the followers, the friends, the believers, the antagonists. They're all together, and they're all plotting either for or against Jesus.'
'This is the season where some of the most iconic moments in history are taking place," Jenkins says. "You've got the triumphal entry into Jerusalem. You've got the turning over of the tables in the temple. You got the Last Supper. You got Judas' betrayal.'
Yet even the small moments are impactful, Jenkins says, like when Jesus is by himself, shouldering the agony to come.
'What he's thinking about happening in the future, what he's thinking about happening in the past and what he knows is going to happen this week, it's got such dramatic weight to it that it feels big, even though it's just one person," Jenkins says.
How to watch 'The Chosen: Last Supper'
Season 5 of "The Chosen" streams on Amazon's Prime Video. The first two episodes arrive June 15, three more on June 22, followed by the final three episodes on June 29.

'The Chosen: Last Supper' trailer: Amazon Prime Video streaming date
'The Chosen: Last Supper' Season 5 goes to Amazon Prime Video on June 15. Watch the trailer featuring Jesus (Jonathan Roumie).
The Season 5 trailer features somber Jesus amid the palm-waving jubilation over his arrival. Yet Jesus becomes angered by the desecration of the temple and begins tipping over the merchants' tables in the holy place while wielding a righteous whip. "You serpents!" Jesus yells. "How will you escape being condemned to hell?"
Jesus remains calm at the Last Supper, but the tension persists. There are glimpses of the betrayal by Judas (Luke Dimyan), who asks Jesus amid the temple wreckage, "What have you done?"
Season 6 covers a 24-hour period during which Jesus was nailed to the cross. The series is slated to end with Season 7, the resurrection.

Watch Prime Video's official trailer for Upload's final season
Amazon has just dropped a trailer for the final season of Upload, the tech-centric comedy about a digital afterlife that's way too real at times (mild spoilers ahead). Created by Greg Daniels ( The Office , Parks and Recreation , King of the Hill ), it's set in an advanced future replete with things like holographic phones, killer self-driving cars and (killer) AI assistants. But since this advanced technology is run by the same irresponsible bros we have in charge today, naturally things go spectacularly wrong. "In the four-part series finale event, sentient AI rapidly turns evil, threatening to wipe out [afterlife reort] Lakeview (and the world!)," Amazon writes "On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IRL, our characters are tested like never before. The only way they can get through it all and save humanity from deletion is by teaming up one last time." Upload has generally received positive reviews, with an 88 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating thanks to the "witty writing and winsome cast [that] make it an afterlife worth living." The final season will hopefully wrap up any lingering mysteries and give our heroes some closure when it hits Amazon Prime Video on August 25.

11 Highlights From KCON Los Angeles 2025
KCON LA concluded its massive three-day Korean Culture festival on August 1–3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Arena, with over 125,000 attendees on-site, and many more joining virtually through digital platforms. Since 2012, KCON has served as a connector between K-culture (encompassing K-pop, K-dramas, K-beauty, and more) and American fans, establishing itself as a leader in the global K-pop music scene. The event was streamed worldwide on Prime Video and Twitch through a partnership with Amazon Prime, bringing the stage to a broader audience (in addition to curating K-pop playlists for Amazon Music users). It's no wonder that the convention remains so popular that the city of Los Angeles officially designated August 1, 2025, as 'KCON Day,' in recognition of the world's largest K-Culture Fan and Artist festival, typically happening on that weekend since 2012. This year, there have been so many incredible highlights to KCON – inside and outside of the convention center. From the X-STAGE – showcasing K-pop rookies making their mark internationally to hosting a fan meetup with Korean actor/singer Yim Si-wan – to the DREAM STAGE – fans having the opportunity to dance with their idols, there was always something to do. Highlights from KCON LA 2025 On the evening before KCON, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and CJ ENM hosted a K-Culture Night to kick off the KCON weekend, featuring Korean celebrities, performances, and creatives taking the stage to perform or share their thoughts. Korean American singer/actor Eric Nam served as the MC, interviewing Korean actor/singer Yim Si-wan (Squid Game), with performances by Stage Fighter winner CHOIHOJONG, J-Pop's IS:SUE, Korean rapper Lee Young Ji, and K-pop group P1Harmony. It was a fun night filled with laughter, tears, and fantastic interactions with their favorite idols. It was a great start to a whole weekend of K-culture and music. McDonald's has been a staple at KCON for the past few years. This year, they brought their Snack Wrap Showdown and booth, handing out chicken snack wraps, and offering a chance to win a few prizes. To add some fun for the K-pop fans, WayBetter and IS:SUE made surprise appearances at different times throughout the weekend, handing out snack wraps as they walked by the booth. It was so exciting to be handed a snack by an idol, whom fans could be hilariously heard saying, 'a snack by a 'snack'.' Day 1 of the M Countdown Stage was really fun with its references to the massive hit animated movie, KPop Demon Hunters. The show opened with the film's villain, Gwi-ma, showing up to address the crowd about finding a K-pop group to help him steal more souls. Lo and behold, the voice of Gwi-ma, Lee Byung-hyun, showed up to welcome the audience to KCON LA 2025. The iconic actor then went on to introduce the first performances of the night, NCT 127 (who closed the night as well). It was very fitting to have Lee as Gwi-ma to introduce a powerful boy group. The KPop Demon Hunters reference continued with izna's performance of Huntrix's Golden. Three of their members – Jeemin, Koko, and Jungeun – dressed as the animated trio and properly sealed the honmoon during their performance, which ended with golden streamers and lights reflected across the stage. It was entertaining to see the popular song, which has become a cultural phenomenon, referenced by the K-pop world. On Thursday, July 31, and Friday, August 1, JO1 held a Pop-Up event for their JAM – the fandom for the group – at a café in Los Angeles, not too far from the Los Angeles Convention Center. Fans lined up to enter the lovely, decorated space filled with JO1 photo ops and an opportunity to win a signed Polaroid of a member. Several members from the group showed up behind the counter to serve special fans throughout the day, making it an even more noteworthy experience for those who waited hours for their idols. It was exciting to witness fans cheering inside the café as members arrived, took drink orders, and served them. Several hardcore fans had traveled from Japan and Korea to participate in the pop-up, and nearly cried when seeing the group close up behind the counter. The drinks themselves were curated explicitly by their team for the event, and they were delicious. The Korean actor is just naturally funny. From the Academy Museum event to his X-Stage, he's just been a good sport with his fans, putting on dog ears and playing games, including a Korean childhood game shown in Squid Game, Jegichagi (Korean hackey sack), which the actor boasted he's pretty good at. Throughout the interview, he kept throwing aegyos (cute displays of affection) to fans, which left many fans touched by the popular actor. In an unexpected collaboration, ZEROBASEONE's Hanbin and rapper Lee Young-ji engaged in a dance battle, both showcasing extraordinary tutting and waacking skills. The two-minute performance left jaws on the floor, including professional dancers, who were impressed by the duo. It's known that before becoming an idol, Hanbin was a professional dancer (backup dancer for BTS and Wanna One) and dance instructor. However, known mainly for her rap skills, hilarious commentary, and hosting, Lee's dance skills were impressive. Fourth-generation J-pop group JO1 and fifth-generation K-pop groups MEOVV and izna covered classic and popular K-pop songs from the previous generations. JO1, who previously covered SEVENTEEN's 'Super' at KCON LA 2023, paid respects to the group again with an incredible rendition of SEVENTEEN's 'Fear' this year. Their synchronization was fantastic, especially hearing it performed by JO1's stunning vocals. MEOVV honored the second-generation group, Brown Eyed Girls, with their version of 'Abracadabra.' It's quite cute to see how the MEOVV performed this song, as two of the members weren't born yet when Brown Eyed Girls debuted back in 2006. izna performed the fourth-generation (and now disbanded) group IZ*ONE's 'Fiesta.' Dressed in flowy pink and white outfits, the adorable seven-member group reinterpreted the original choreography, making it their own. The popular K-pop group was all around, non-stop, during KCON. From their Artist Stage to the Meet-and-Greet to performing and hosting for all three days of the M Countdown stage, they were everywhere all at once. It was surprising to hear another announcement of ZEROBASEONE every day, doing a new gig. It's impressive, and it came as no surprise that this talented group of nine members can do it all. It is almost every dancer's dream to dance alongside their favorite artist. KCON's DREAM Stage allows that to happen for lucky fans who can make it to the final stage. It's truly inspiring to see the effort fans put into their performances and the chance to dance with and for their artist. In this case, the fans could dance alongside NCT 127, MONSTA X, and HOSHI X WOOZI (SEVENTEEN'S HxW). Seeing the fairies given to several fans after the performance was endearing, especially seeing their faces light up. It's truly special. The members of P1Harmony are young and funny when it comes to variety shows and interviews, so having them perform a live, fun set of games at the Chi Forest booth was amusing to watch. The members created drink concoctions using the sparkling water, fruits, and other scents. It was just a fun and sweet experience for fans to witness their idol up close and personal. Another hilarious moment with the group was during their Artist Stage. P1Harmony leader Keeho had fans chanting the last part of his name during their Artist Stage set, which left him slightly embarrassed, as he realized that when he said, 'Kee,' they responded with 'Ho.' For many who have been attending KCON for many years, this was a significant moment in K-pop history as MONSTA X returned as a group (I.M unfortunately could not attend due to a back injury). With the many military discharges within the past few months from the group, who celebrated 10 years as a group in May, it was heartwarming to have them together, making new music (soon). It was also a nice introduction to the group for newer fans who may not have been aware of the superstar group. It was also touching to see the second-generation group embrace fellow second-generation artist Jackson Wang (of GOT7), who performed solo the same evening. At the end of the show, all the artists come on stage to wave at fans and bow together with their members or alone. Since Wang performed alone, the members of MONSTA X grabbed his hands and bowed together to the audience. It was such an incredible moment to witness, showcasing the love and friendship these idols have with each other. For more information on KCON LA and other KCON-based events, click here.

I think every Nintendo Switch 2 owner should play these 11 Switch games first — and Woot has them on sale
The Nintendo Switch 2 has been around for a few weeks now, so you might have already had your fill of Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. If you're looking for something new to play, there are a ton of incredible Nintendo Switch games that you might have missed out on — in fact, I think every Nintendo Switch 2 owner should play these. Woot is my favorite place to go for Switch game deals. This Amazon subsidiary company has Switch game discounts that are otherwise extremely rare to come by. For example, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is on sale for $45 at Woot. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still worth picking up, even for Mario Kart World owners — it'll get you access to 48 more tracks. Plus, my main boy, Roy the Koopaling, hasn't made the Mario Kart World roster yet, so I would still buy a copy of MK8D just to play as him. Another must-buy is Animal Crossing: New Horizons on sale for $44 at Woot. In my opinion, it provides one of the most enjoyable and relaxing gaming experiences you can have — and I've gotten over 500 hours of playtime out of this title myself. If we look at the Animal Crossing series' past release schedule, it's possible that we're still a few years out from seeing a new game release on the Switch 2. So I recommend grabbing this deal on Animal Crossing: New Horizons while you can and seeing for yourself why this game is so beloved! I've rounded up all the essential Switch game deals in Woot's sale below. For more savings, see the deals I'd buy from $8 in Best Buy's Tech Fest sale. Fans of Donkey Kong Bananza will definitely want to experience some of DK's hit games from the past, and the Switch 2 is a great console to do it on. For starters, you can get Donkey Kong Country Returns HD on sale for $41. With updated visuals and 80 action-packed stages, this is a classic platformer that's a must-play. You'll be navigating challenges like mine carts, rocket barrels and animal companions in solo or co-op check: $51 @ Amazon Initially launched on the Wii U, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is back and sports a new Funky Mode. In this 2D platformer, you play as one of the Kong clan as they seek to save their island from an invading arctic force. Tropical Freeze is one of the best side-scrolling platformers ever made, and it looks (and plays) even better check: $48 @ Amazon One of the best games on Switch, Super Mario Odyssey offers innovative gameplay, creative level design and colorful graphics. There are hundreds of moons to find hidden everywhere from the Luncheon Kingdom to New Donk City, so you'll never run out of things to do in this check: $59 @ Best Buy This is one of the games that helped get many people through a tough couple of years after it released in 2020, letting you jet off to an untamed island courtesy of business raccoon Tom Nook. It's up to you to bring civilization to that island and turn it into a villager's check: $51 @ Amazon Mario's latest side-scrolling adventure is a wonderfully refreshing spin on the classic formula. Venturing to the Flower Kingdom, you'll discover stage-altering Wonder Flowers which can warp levels, create new platforming challenges and even turn Mario into an elephant. Playable in up to four-player co-op, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a platforming marvel for the entire family and one of the very best Nintendo Switch games you can play check: $49 @ Amazon This take on the classic monster-hunting formula throws you back in time to find one of the most elusive Pokémon while also braving a wilder version of a familiar world. Legends Arceus is a little different from the Pokémon games you're used to, but it's a good check: $48 @ Walmart If you've ever wanted to construct your own Mario courses rather than just play them, Super Mario Maker 2 is the game for you. Play, create and share your courses with the world and dive into a full single-player story as well. With thousands of user-created courses already available, Super Mario Maker 2 offers a nearly endless supply of new content. Price check: $52 @ Amazon Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is one of the most popular Switch games available — even years after its launch, it continues to dominate the best-sellers chart. This means any form of discount is pretty rare, but you can currently save on this must-have family-friendly hit. And if you want even more courses, be sure to pick up the Booster Pack DLC that adds 48 new tracks, including fan-favourite check: $48 @ Walmart Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings together every single character in the fighting franchise's history for a showdown of epic proportions. We might not see a Smash Bros. crossover of this scale again, so this Switch title is a check: $49 @ Amazon Fans have been waiting a long time for Samus Aran to return to the space-exploration scene in a new Metroid title, and this game was totally worth the wait. You'll be hunting down aliens and fighting for your life against deadly robotic assassins. Whether you're new to the series or an old pro, we highly recommend Metroid Dread. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on the Nintendo Switch is a lovingly crafted remaster of the 1993 classic. Take control of Link as he explores the mysterious Koholint Island, where he'll traverse eight puzzling dungeons as well as an expansive check: $55 @ Best Buy
