While addressing a political conference organised by the Congress on the occasion of Rakhar Punya at Baba Bakala, he strongly opposed those trying to raise the slogan of Khalistan in Punjab. 'We must fight against the Centre for Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat, but only while remaining a part of our own country, not by separating from it,' he said, while emphasising that Punjab was the strongest pillar of India.
He also lashed out at the AAP government, accusing it of turning Punjab into a 'gangland', and pushing the state into complete chaos and lawlessness: 'The economy has completely collapsed, with the debt rising to nearly ₹5.25 lakh crore. At the same time, law and order has reached its worst state, and gangsters are ruling the roost.'
He added that in the last three and a half years of AAP's governance, there had been no new investment in the state. In fact, many businesses had left Punjab due to security concerns. He said a climate of fear prevailed in the state, and people felt scared and anxious.
During his speech, Warring reiterated his party's strong opposition to the AAP government's land pooling policy. He said on the one hand, it was a scheme to loot farmers' land and on the other hand, it had the potential to destroy the state's agricultural economy. He made it clear that the Congress party will never allow this policy to be implemented.
Former deputy chief minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, former minister Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla, former MP Jasbir Singh Dimpa, Sukhwinder Danny, Bhagwant Pal Singh Sachar and other Congress leaders were also present at the conference.

‘Never thought we would see his face again': 19-year-old Bengal migrant returns weeks after sent to Bangladesh
A 19-year-old Bengali migrant who was detained by Rajasthan police on June 19 and later deported to Bangladesh has finally returned home, his family and local leaders said on Tuesday. The case came to light after a video of Amir Sheikh, filmed in Bangladesh, circulated on social media. Amir, a resident of Jalalpur village under Kaliachowk police station in Malda, had gone to Rajasthan to work as a construction labourer. However, his family lost contact with him after his detention. Amir lost his mother five years ago and his father works as a migrant labourer in Uttar Pradesh. Ajmal said the family first saw the video last month and learned that Amir had been pushed into Bangladesh. ' We got a call last evening from someone in Basirhat. I did not know who he was. We then spoke with Amir on video call. I identified him. He said he was in a Bangladesh jail. Then we were told that he would be brought back. This morning we received another call stating that he is with the BSF. We are waiting for further instructions,' Ajmal said. In a video message on social media, Isha Khan Choudhury, Congress MP from Malda Dakshin Lok Sabha constituency, said central agencies and the Border Security Forces (BSF) had traced Amir. 'We are happy to share with the people of the constituency and press colleagues that a wrongly expelled Indian citizen was traced in Bangladesh by the central government and BSF,' she said. After being detained in the labour camp in Rajasthan, Mr Amir Sheikh is being released today. BSF ADG of West Bengal told me that Amir Sheikh is now in BSF control. He identifies himself, shares his West Bengal address, and alleges that after being detained for two months, he was recently sent across the border into Bangladesh. The incident comes in the wake of similar cases across several states, including Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. On June 14, seven residents of West Bengal were detained in Mumbai and later pushed into Bangladesh by the BSF. After intervention by the West Bengal government, four youths from Murshidabad, one from Purba Bardhaman and a husband-wife duo from North 24 Parganas were brought back.

Five MPs urge Speaker to act against AI over flight diversion
NEW DELHI: Five MPs, including Congress's general secretary, organisation, K C Venugopal, on Tuesday wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla over the diversion of the Thiruvananthapuram-Delhi flight they were on to Chennai and demanded action on alleged "bre-ach of privilege" by Air India. Venugopal and his party colleagues K Suresh, Adoor Prakash and Robert Bruce, along with CPI(M)'s K Radhakrishnan, also wrote to civil aviation minister Rammohan Naidu. They have demanded a time-bound investigation and asked that its findings be made public. In their letter to Birla, the five MPs said they wanted to bring to his attention the matter involving a "grave breach of privilege" by Air India, arising from events on Flight AI 2455 on August 10.
