Aussie retailer brings back sell-out $29 'dupe' of popular $135 designer item: 'I've had so many compliments'
A hair fragrance inspired by the iconic designer scent Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is back in stock after selling out on its first run.
Saffron Bloom, one of three new hair perfumes from Oz Hair and Beauty, has been compared to the decadently warm and rich fragrance, but at a fraction of the price at just $28.99.
Hair fragrance has been having a moment, with beauty brands and perfume houses both getting in on the trend.
High-end fragrance names such as Diptyque, Tom Ford, Jo Malone and Byredo have released hair-friendly versions of their bestsellers, while Rare Beauty and Sol de Janeiro among the beauty brands who've added hair mists to their offerings.
Since its launch just over 10 years ago, it has cemented itself as a modern classic - luxe, sophisticated and universally appealing.
But that unique, woody yet floral fragrance comes with an eye-watering price tag.
Baccarat Rouge 540 retails for an eye-popping $135 per 70ml bottle (though that is a steal compared to the Eau de Parfum, $438 for 70ml).
In contrast, Saffron Bloom will set you back just $28.99 for 100ml.
It joins two other fragrances, Salted Coconut and Pink Candy, to form a collection that speaks to all personalities and tastes.
Perfect for evoking a feeling of holidays, Salted Coconut is 'a tropical escape in a bottle', infused with a creamy coconut and a hint of sea salt.
Pink Candy is an ultra feminine sugary floral fragrance, sweet without being overpowering.
Saffron Bloom features exotic notes of saffron and amber, light sweetness of jasmine and the 'earthy depth' of cedar, enveloping hair in an 'effortlessly luxe' aroma.

While many would think nothing of adding a few spritzes to their hair while spraying their Eau de Parfum in the morning, the alcohol content of most perfumes can strip the hair of moisture, causing damage with regular use.
A hair fragrance is specifically formulated with lower or no alcohol, and with added moisturising ingredients to protect and care for hair health.
Oz Hair and Beauty's new collection is designed to add a beautiful aroma to hair without damaging or weighing it down.
The alcohol-free formula is suitable for all hair types, including keratin-treated hair, as it is also free from sulphates (SLS/SLES), parabens and synthetic colours.
It locks in moisture to keep hair soft and hydrated, shiny and vibrant.
Customers are raving about the exquisite scent which they say is long lasting and is garnering them plenty of compliments.
'I'm so impressed with this hair perfume!' one shopper wrote of Saffron Bloom. 'The scent is fresh and luxurious without being overpowering, and it lasts throughout the day. Also doesn't leave my hair feeling oily or heavy - just refreshed.
'I've had so many compliments since I started using it! It's definitely become a staple in my haircare routine.'
Another customer added: 'Just got this hair perfume and I'm obsessed! It smells amazing and doesn't make my hair feel greasy at all.
'I've been using it pretty much every day, and the scent lasts forever.'
'With hair perfume trending worldwide, we knew it was time to introduce an affordable yet high-quality option to the market,' said Anthony Nappa, CEO of the hair and beauty brand retailer.
'These scents are designed to be lightweight, long-lasting, and complementary to your haircare routine, giving you a fresh, fragrant finish all day long.'
'Fragrance is such an important part of self-expression, and now you can extend that to your hair with scents that are luxurious yet accessible.'

Nova listeners demand to know where Kate Ritchie is as radio station makes a major announcement after star's months long absence
Nova FM has announced it will be hosting its annual Singles Party. The radio network shared the news on Thursday alongside a promo image featuring hosts Ryan Fitzgerald, Michael Wipfli and Kate Ritchie, who has been absent from the show for several months. And now, confused listeners are demanding to know whether Ritchie will be returning to the radio program after appearing on the event poster. 'Where is Kate? She has been absent all year and nothing has been mentioned about her coming back, is she returning or not?' one person asked. 'Hope Kate is going well, will she be returning this year?' another concerned fan said. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'When is Kate back?' a third questioned. There has been ongoing speculation over when she'll return to co-host Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Nova 96.9 following her sudden departure in January after a troubling public incident in a Sydney park. Kate's Instagram bio doesn't mention Nova anymore; instead she is simply 'actor, radio and broadcaster' which may point to her making a quiet exit. Despite her absence, the breakfast radio show has continued to thrive with just Fitzy and Wippa at the helm, recently recording its highest ratings in almost a year. The duo pulled in an impressive 8.7 per cent share of the audience in the latest survey, putting pressure on Nova bosses to make a decision about the show's future direction. Kate has been receiving ongoing support at a rehabilitation facility since the incident, which saw her photographed in tears and appearing visibly distressed shortly after picking Mae up from school. At the time, Kate released a heartfelt statement on social media explaining her decision to step away from the show. 'I struggle with mental health issues at times, which are deeply personal. This has proven to be a bigger challenge than I imagined,' she began. 'So I have decided to take a break from the show and the team who I love to focus on my health. I want to thank all of those who are helping me through this very difficult time. I love you. Thank you Nova for being there when I need you.' Kate went on to address the images taken on January 29. 'This is also a problem many others are struggling with. They know what it's like. The images of me taken last week show that I wasn't okay on that day,' she continued. She went on to thank her friends and fans for their support. 'Thank you to my wonderful family, all the Nova listeners, and many others who are sending their love and support. I appreciate it more than you can imagine,' she wrote. Footage obtained by Daily Mail Australia then showed the former actress crying while on the phone, wiping tears from her eyes and burying her head in her hands. A witness, who saw Ritchie get out of the car at the park, said the star 'looked really distressed'. 'She walked around a bit in the park while talking and then suddenly she sat down and started rocking her whole body back and forth and crying,' they said. 'It was really confronting – she looked so upset. When she turned around her eyes were all red and puffy and she looked absolutely devastated.' The actress was then seen struggling to get up from the grass. 'After the call ended, she tried to stand up but lost her balance and sort of fell over again,' the bystander added. 'When she finally managed to get to her feet, she started making another phone call... she looked much happier during that call.' Kate then walked around to the back of the vehicle – holding an arm out on the car as she got into the driver's seat and drove home. At the time, Nova's co-hosts had promised their audience that the absent Kate would return after one day off, but that timeline was soon dropped. This isn't the first time Kate has stepped away from her duties at Nova. In 2022, she took an extended hiatus from her drive-time program with Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey, citing exhaustion and burnout. She never returned to that show either. Nova has remained tight-lipped on any potential comeback date and did not respond to questions about whether the embattled star had continued to receive pay during her absence.

The sell-out $40 item from Kmart that's a must-have 'IT' piece for winter: 'Obsessed'
Shoppers are rushing to Kmart Australia to pick up a $40 must-have winter jacket, after it was a fan favourite over the last couple of seasons. The retailer has quietly brought back its hugely popular Active Women's Mid-Length Puffer Jacket - just in time for the freezing weather. The sell-out quilted puffer jacket, available in sage, pink and beige, features a drop shoulder design, high neck with detachable hoodie, elastic sleeves and zipper detail. Customers have given the jacket the tick of approval, while those who purchased a similar style in previous seasons have raved about the wardrobe staple. 'Kmart puffer jackets are so good. I've got the hot pink one and the bright green one both from previous years,' one shared. 'I'm in love,' another said. 'OMG I'm obsessed,' one added. And it seems the puffer jackets are once again popular among shoppers - with many revealing they were struggling to find them anywhere in store. 'All sold out,' one revealed. 'I haven't been able to find the green one at any of my local store ever,' another said. 'Can't find them in store,' one confirmed. Earlier this month the retailer's new faux suede oversized bomber jacket in the colour 'melt brown', priced at just $49, was being eyed by fashionistas. The cool, luxurious-looking chocolate brown statement piece has been flying off the shelves for all the right reasons - as suede is currently having a major moment in the fashion world. The jacket can be paired with a fancy dress for a night out or for a chic casual look, try a pair of blue jeans, a white T-shirt and white sneakers. 'The bomber jacket of the season has landed! And it's only $49,' Kmart said. Hundreds of excited shoppers weighed in, with many describing it as a 'hot item'. 'Wait what? Kmart - omg it looks like a designer jacket,' one suggested. 'It's what I was looking for,' another said. 'Love it! Love the colour too,' added another. 'OMG I need it,' one revealed. The bomber jacket comes in the 'IT' shade of chocolate brown, which is bang on trend for 2025. In addition, the suede-style material is also a trending look this winter. Similar chocolate brown suede bomber jackets, featuring oversized pocket details, can be found at other popular online fashion retailers - selling for upwards of $387. Accordingly, Aussie fashionistas have wasted no time in heading to the shops to pick up the stylish bargain buy. 'I ran, didn't walk and bought it already,' one revealed. 'Omg just tried this jacket on this morning and it is fabulous,' another shared. However, some disappointed shoppers revealed they were struggling to find the fashion forward piece in stores after it was 'sold out' in their area. 'When are these jackets coming back in stock?' one asked. A Kmart Australia employee responded to some of these messages, assuring customers they were 'working hard' to get the jacket back on shelves – and were hopeful that stock would be plentiful within the next few weeks. However, not all feedback on the coveted jacket was positive. One Kmart shopper who'd managed to get hold of the fashion item in store complained that there were 'not a fan of the material at all'. 'It feels like thick heavy cupboard,' they commented. Another questioned the price point of the jacket, saying: 'A bit expensive Kmart'. Meanwhile, some loyal Kmart fans suggested the jacket did not meet their expectations because they didn't like how 'stiff' the faux suede felt on their body. However, others were thrilled with the style and fit. The jacket is made from a blend of Polyurethane (PU), polyester, cotton and other fibres as well as pongee and suedette fabric. It features a spread collar, long balloon sleeves with a buttoned cuffs, a zip up front and front patch pockets with flap. Like most bomber jackets, the fit of the jacket is designed to be 'oversized'.

Katy Perry made a candid confession as she opened her Lifetimes Tour in Sydney on Wednesday night. The American pop superstar, 40, told fans while performing on stage that she had Botox done after landing in Australia. Katy started by complaining about jet lag and her daughter Daisy waking her up at 5am every morning. 'But you can't tell I'm tired because I got fresh Botox for Australia!' she declared. Concertgoers also burst into laughter when Katy called her assistant on-stage to unzip her costume 'because I've been eating too many Tim Tams'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Katy kicked off her massive month-long tour in Australia with her first show at Qudos Bank Arena. The singer also shared a touching moment with her fans when she invited a group of young admirers on stage to sing Thinking Of You with her. Alongside the delighted fans was one boy in a shark costume, a callback to Katy's viral Left Shark moment, which involved a 'shark' dancing at Perry's Super Bowl halftime show in 2015. The global Lifetimes tour - which has been the subject of mockery and memes online - went off without a hitch on Wednesday. At one stage, Katy knelt down at the front of the stage to thank a fan for 'waiting for five hours' to secure a spot at the front of the arena. Katy stunned in an array of outfits throughout the set, which revisits hits throughout her career. She donned a futuristic leotard and thigh high boots at one stage, before changing into a red look with silver boots. The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker has been out and about in Sydney since touching down this week. On Wednesday, she posted a video on Instagram showing her feeding a tiger at Sydney Zoo in the middle of the night. Katy is performing three shows in Sydney, bringing all of her iconic hits as well as some of her new tracks from her latest album 143, to Qudos Bank Arena on June 4, 9 and 10. Tickets to the pop icon's tour, which has received an onslaught of criticism over the last few months, have been in high demand, with the Roar hitmaker announcing two extra shows on the Australian run to accommodate all of her fans. Taking to Instagram in February, Katy revealed that she added an extra show at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on June 4 to kick off the Australian leg, as well as an extra Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena on June 7. Katy will now play a hefty 15 Australian shows.
