Peter Andre, 52, reveals downside to age gap relationship with wife Emily, 35

Metro3 hours ago

Peter Andre has defended the 16-year age gap in his relationship with wife Emily MacDonagh – but one incident that showed their generational gap still makes them laugh.
The musician and TV star, 52, married doctor Emily, 35, in 2015, soon after welcoming children Amelia, 11, Theo, nine, and one-year-old Arabella. Peter also has two children, Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, with former wife Katie Price.
Peter and Emily have experienced some backlash against their 16-year age gap, which the I'm A Celebrity contestant defended in a new interview.
In his column for New! magazine, Peter discussed Stephen Fry, 67, speaking about the age gap in his marriage with Elliott Spencer, 38, and how Peter and Emily's age difference 'works' for them.
'It all depends on the relationship, how the partners are with each other, and how they view things, I think. There's a 16-year gap between me and Emily, and it really works for us,' he wrote.
However, he did muse over one incident where their generational gap was very noticeable.
'There's one thing we do laugh about, though… We were at the Pride of Britain awards one year and Jon Bon Jovi came over to chat. I've met him many times over the years and he's a lovely person,' he continued.
After the introduction, Peter was shocked to discover Emily had no idea who the legendary rock star was, asking her husband 'What's a Bon Jovi?'
'We laughed about that a lot afterwards! It's in those moments we may realise the age gap – usually with music and films – but in general, we love the same things. I think it's what works for you in a relationship. Who are we to judge?' he said.
Peter, who is currently on screens in controversial thriller comedy Jafaican, met Emily in 2012, with them tying the knot three years later.
He previously discussed not opting for a pre-nuptial agreement before tying the knot, saying: 'I think it does depend on upbringing. So some cultures think that you should always keep your own money, some think you should all be together.
'But as you grow older, you start to figure it out yourself. I know with Emily at the start I had different views to what I've got now. I mean, we don't have a prenup. We've got children together.' More Trending
Last year, Peter said he and Emily were 'pretty sure' Arabella would be their last child, with the singer speaking out numerous times about the prospect of having a vasectomy.
'I appeared on Loose Women last week to promote the Frankie Valli tour and one of the topics we discussed is whether a man should get a vasectomy,' he wrote back in February.
'Having children is a big decision. We frequently expect the woman to have to find a way and take measures not to become pregnant, but actually I realise that us men have a responsibility too.
'The problem is, like many, I'm a bit scared of having that kind of procedure. I know, call me a wimp. Who knows? Never say never, I guess.'

ITV 'axes huge Andi Peters and Jeff Brazier perk' in latest cost-cutting

The days of seeing ITV stars Andi Peters and Jeff Brazier flown off to exotic locations to promote competitions for the broadcaster are over - according to reports. Both Andi, 54, and Jeff, 46, would often pop up in some far flung location, encouraging viewers to try their luck and be in with a chance of winning thousands of pounds on shows, including Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women. However, money is now a sticky subject at ITV after it announced a string of cuts to its Daytime offerings before staff at the broadcaster were hit with news that there would be redundancies ahead. As a result, ITV will, reportedly, no longer be shelling out for presenters such as Andi and Jeff to sun themselves on sun-kissed beaches while working for the broadcaster in its latest cost-cutting exercise. ITV launches brand new channel amid daytime cuts and redundancies This year alone, Andi has broadcast from the Maldives, Australia, Cape Town, and Florida while Jeff has jetted off to Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malta, which according to insiders, has 'irritated' production staff who have since been told their roles are at risk. Speaking to the Mail, a source said: "ITV has scaled back on sending top talent overseas to present their competition segments. The competitions themselves, which give viewers the chance to win six figure sums and idyllic holidays, bring in a great deal of revenue, but constantly flying the likes of Andi and Jeff to the Maldives and South Africa was starting to frustrate staff and viewers alike. "It was decided that they would dial down for a few weeks after the budget cuts were announced and no one has flown overseas to present the competitions since. "As well as there being a backlash online from disgruntled viewers, it was felt continuing to send talent abroad to luxurious holiday destinations as others are losing their jobs would be in bad taste." Indeed, some viewers did take to social media after it was announced that Lorraine Kelly's self-titled programme will be cut in half next year, to just half an hour a day and will only air 30 weeks of the year. Meanwhile, Loose Women will keep its hour show - but again, it will be cut to just 30 out of 52 weeks a year. Claiming the channel would save money if it didn't keep paying for Andi to be shipped off to yet another picture-postcard location, one fan posted: "If ITV really wanted to save money they would stop sending Andi Peters to Mauritius or the rings of Saturn every time they have a competition." ITV hasn't featured an exotic location for one of its competitions since May 19 when Lisa Snowdon hosted a segment from Cyprus for This Morning, which coincided with their official announcement of budget cuts and job losses. Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV's Media and Entertainment Division, announced the changes last month, where he had said the changes were necessary to "generate savings". However, sources have told The Mirror some shows face a 'death spiral' saying:"It's not a case of viewers seeing less of their shows… it's impossible to see how the high standards will remain the same. Some staff believe Loose Women and Lorraine in particular will enter a death spiral… it's just so sad. Just a handful of people will be working on each of those two programmes which has huge ramifications for how they are going forward." When contacted by the Mirror, ITV declined to comment.

Keanu Reeves is even a gentleman when straddled by another actor

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Keanu Reeves continued to be the most green flag man in Hollywood after his reaction to being straddled by another actor. The John Wick star, 60, has a reputation for being the kindest, most gentlemanly person in showbusiness, regularly going viral for his generous acts such as giving millions of dollars to charity, and taking the time to show his appreciation for film crew members. He's never embroiled in scandal, nor is he ever really seen in any bad mood – there's a reason he's been dubbed the internet's husband. And his glowing streak continues after he left fans 'dying' after his reaction to Broadway star Jonathan Groff straddling him at the Tony Awards. The Mindhunter star performed a medley of songs from Just In Time at the star-studded event, walking into the crowd. Keanu, who was sitting in the front row, found himself between Jonathan's legs as he stood on the Matrix star's armrests. But he didn't seem to mind at all, smiling away into the camera and holding his hands up in a horns sign. As Jonathan bent lower and lower while belting out the lyrics, Keanu jokingly appeared shocked before beaming away. It was an unusual reunion for the pair who both starred alongside each other in 2021's The Matrix: Resurrections, with Keanu reprising his iconic role as Neo and Jonathan appearing as Agent Smith. Fans have been quick to heap praise on Keanu and Jonathan, with many saying they 'don't know who is luckier' in this situation. 'Further proof Keanu is the best,' tattooedsiren wrote on Instagram. Mjms323 added: 'Keanu Reeves just got a face full of Jonathan Groff's ass and I'm not sure which one I'm more jealous of.' Cooper_holly said what many of us are thinking: 'Jonathan Groff flirting with and singing to Keanu Reeves wasn't something I had on my Tonys bingo card but I'm here for it.' Takarakanashi described the moment as their 'Roman Empire', while Thatssoannie_ said it will live in their mind rent-free for some time. More Trending 'Jonathan Groff climbing on Keanu Reeves and groping him on live tv happy pride month everyone,' MarcelinaRose_ wrote. Darnthatdave added: 'Jonathan Groff and Keanu Reeves on the Tonys will fuel fantasies for decades.' Keanu is set to make his Broadway debut alongside Bill and Ted co-star Alex Winter in Waiting for Godot, a show that follows 'two friends searching for meaning in an absurd world.' They sat alongside each other at the event, with Alex positioned as close as possible to the action between Keanu and Jonathan that is sending the internet wild. Got a story?
