Cardinals training camp: What to know about Saturday's Red & White practice

The Cardinals' annual Red & White practice is Saturday. Here is what you need to know. The Arizona Cardinals have their final training camp practice of the week, and it is their most highly attended one every year. It is the Red & White practice. While practice itself isn't much different than any other day (back when Bruce Arians was head coach and when it was held in Flagstaff, the Cardinals would have a full-contact goalline session), there are more things for fans. If you have plans of attending the practice at State Farm Stadium Saturday afternoon, here is what you need to know. Cardinals training camp: What to know about the Red & White practice First and foremost, you need to acquire tickets. They are free and you can reserve up to four using the team site. The practice is at State Farm Stadium on Saturday, August 2 from 1:15-3:15 p.m. Arizona time. Season ticket holders will be able to enter at 12:30 p.m. and the general public at 12:45 p.m. through Gates 1, 2 and 3. Parking is free, and lots will open at 12:15 p.m. on both sides of the stadium. The NFL's clear-bag policy is in effect. Because of the heat, it is recommended that fans hydrate ahead of time and have a non-frozen, unopened 16.9-ounce bottle of water for the wait in line. Before practice starts, owner Michael Bidwill and head coach Jonathan Gannon will speak to fans. In years past, the Cardinals who made the Pro Bowl the previous season will be presented with their framed Pro Bowl jersey. Tight end Trey McBride and safety Budda Baker were the Cardinals' Pro Bowlers last season. Insider reveals why Cardinals didn't trade Nolan Arenado

No trade clauses are perhaps the worst thing in Major League Baseball for teams like the St. Louis Cardinals, with players they want to move who are on expensive deals. For Nolan Arenado, that was the problem once again. MORE: According to a recent report from John Denton, that was something that came up during the deadline. Denton reported that the star third baseman and president of baseball operations, John Mozeliak, had a talk before the deadline, and Arenado wasn't willing to change his stance on where he wanted to be traded. "All indications are that 3B Nolan Arenado will remain with the Cardinals through today's deadline, per a source familiar with the negotiations. Arenado met recently with POBO John Mozeliak and there has been no change in the list of teams he would accept a trade to as of now," Denton shared. During the offseason, the Cardinals believed they had a chance to trade him to the Houston Astros. The deal seemed to be done, but Arenado eventually decided to pull his no-trade clause card and denied the deal. Not only is this something the front office has to continue to worry about as they look to trade him, but there are other factors that have to be considered. For instance, consider the Astros, who traded for Carlos Correa during the deadline. Instead of the Astros now being a potential landing spot for Arenado during the winter, that takes him away. Other teams will continue to improve before he's traded with this saga, which could force the Cardinals to hold onto him for the full contract term.
