BRITAIN'S Got Talent gave us some of the most outrageous wannabes in the show's history last series – by taking the auditions out of London and up the road to Blackpool.
Now, I can reveal the raucous crowds who made the early episodes so much fun have convinced Simon Cowell and producers to host try-outs in yet another major UK city.

In fact, as well as heading back to Blackpool this autumn seeking contestants for BGT 2026, I can reveal that auditions will also be held in Birmingham as show bosses turn their backs on the capital completely.
A TV insider said: 'The audiences up north were absolutely wild, with some shouting at Simon and flicking him V-signs if he didn't make a decision they approved of. Then, hilariously, some of the people who had abused him would sidle up afterwards and ask for a selfie — and, of course, he duly obliged.
'Simon loved it, so when they were looking at what to do for the new series, they decided to try out another city further north that might provide some of the same dynamism.'
Birmingham was the birthplace of huge ITV shows, including cult kids' favourite Tiswas and classic soap Crossroads.
Britain's second city was the home of talent contest New Faces which helped launch the careers of stars including Joe Pasquale and Lenny Henry.
The BGT live semi-finals and final will likely remain in London.
Moving the auditions from the big smoke on a near permanent basis won't surprise other judges either.
Talking of their sensational trip north for the 2024 auditions,
Amanda Holden said this year: 'The audiences were super-warm and brilliantly up for it. The show felt really appreciated and wanted up there.
'I honestly think we won't go back to London for the auditions. I think we'll be going back to Blackpool all the time.'
Well, it turns out you were half right Amanda . . .

Nick: Why The Traitors is magic

NICK MOHAMMED has revealed his Celebrity Traitors co-star Stephen Fry promises to be as witty as ever in the upcoming show.
The Ted Lasso actor said Stephen used a Harry Potter term for non-magical people to refer to the non-celeb version of the hit show.
He said: 'Stephen referred to it as the Muggle version which really made me laugh.'
Nick added: 'I was allowed one phone conversation a day with the kids but you are isolated from the outside world – at one point we weren't even allowed to know the time.
'You'd be, 'What's the time?' They'd say, 'It's traitors' time'.'
Filming has wrapped on the series – which will air this autumn – but Nick has kept in touch with his co-stars.
He added: 'There's a WhatsApp group and we're all on it – it's phenomenal and every day there's about 50 notifications.'
Leo lined up
LEO WOODALL has cemented his place as TV's favourite leading man with another sexy role.
He will play the titular character in Vladimir, a Netflix eight-parter said to be 'full of sexy secrets and dark humour'.
It also stars Rachel Weisz as a woman who becomes obsessed with Vladimir.

STRICTLY Come Dancing siren Nadiya Bychkova has revealed she has her entire body insured – and does foot-strengthening exercises to help her cope with wearing her favourite high heels.
Nadiya told me: 'I do have things insured – everything I need for dancing.
'Dancing puts food on the table, so I need to make sure I am OK. I think it comes from when I was competing at the highest level. I do a lot of workouts for my feet. It's about building the muscles. You don't want to walk in heels and twist something or break something.
'As we get older, we need to look after ourselves even more. If you twist your ankle, then you're done.'
Game on for Squid
THE THIRD and final series of Squid Game landed on Friday but now its creator has hinted there could be more to come.
The dystopian hit saw gambling addict Gi-hun join in a deadly game against other vulnerable people, enticed by recruiters.
Writer Hwang Dong-Hyuk said: 'I had this faint ideation . . . not a sequel, but maybe a spin-off about the three-year gap between season 1 and season 2 when Gi-hun looks around for the recruiters.
'Maybe a portrayal of what the recruiters or Captain Park or officers or masked men were doing in that period, not inside the gaming arena, but their life outside of that.'
Sonia on the double
CONGRATULATIONS to Coronation Street actress Sonia Ibrahim, who has given birth to her second child.
Announcing the news online, Sonia, who plays Mel Maguire, wrote: 'My beautiful boy Carter Benjamin Machin, 7lbs of pure perfection. You are loved more than you will ever know.'
C4 to air axed doc
A CONTROVERSIAL documentary about medics allegedly coming under fire in Gaza will air on Channel 4 after the BBC axed it.
Gaza: Doctors Under Attack looks at allegations that Israeli forces targeted hospitals and health workers in the Middle East conflict.
The Beeb commissioned the film last year but shelved it, concerned it 'risked creating a perception of partiality'.
Louisa Compton, Channel 4's head of news, said: 'We are showing this programme because we believe that, following thorough fact-checking, we are presenting a duly impartial view.'
The one-off film will air on Wednesday at 10pm.

Love Island fans beg ITV to give Harry's ex Emma a place in the main villa as they predict fireworks with Helena after he makes bombshell comment about his former girlfriend

Love Island fans are begging ITV bosses to give Harry's ex Emma a permanent spot in the main villa after he dropped a major bombshell in Sunday's show. Casa Amor made its long-awaited return, which saw six new single girls arrive in search for their man. And things are already taking a messy turn for Harry, 30, as his ex-girlfriend Emma - who he dated for four years - was one of the bombshells who made an entrance. Although their three year relationship ended a while ago after he cheated on her, during the episode, Harry confessed he finds Emma more attractive than Helena - who he recently re-coupled with. During a game of Truth or Dare in Casa, Harry was asked: 'Who are you more attracted to, Helena or Emma?' to which he responded: 'Emma.' It appears things could get explosive between the girls if Emma, 30, earns her spot in the main villa. Fans watching from home couldn't help but predict fireworks between Emma and Helena, 29, with many taking to X to wade in on the show. Tweets included: 'Who do you find more attractive, Helena or Emma' 'emma' OH ROLL ON MOVIE NIGHT IM BUZZING #loveisland #LoveIslandUK'; 'Oh emma HATES harry. the producers said let's ruin this man's experience and sent in his biggest op. i fear i already have to stan #LoveIsland'; 'Who are you more attracted to? Helena or Emma?' '….emma' INJECT IT INTO MEEEEE #loveisland #loveislanduk'; 'Harry confessing he was in love with his ex 5 minutes before she enters the villa love island you have outdone yourselves here #loveisland #loveislanduk'; 'GIVE EMMA THE 50K RIGHT NOOOWWWW #LoveIslandUK #loveisland'; 'Harry has gone to Casa just to get told off and now looks sad, Emma WE LOVE YOU #loveisland #loveislanduk.' Elsewhere in the episode, fans praised a 'brutal' new take on the iconic Casa Amor twist. It appears things could get explosive between the girls if Emma, 30, earns her spot in the main villa, as people pointed out online The segment has been known for causing chaos in the villa, and this year's is set to be no different, with no couples declaring themselves 'closed off.' But as the episode began, a new twist was introduced that saw the Casa Amor bombshells briefly head into the main villa, giving the girls a brief glimpse at their competition, before bidding farewell to their male partners. It was a move to sent the girls, and particularly Meg Moore, spiralling, as they begun to question whether any of the boys' heads would be turned by the stunning new arrivals. Whether Casa Amor was a welcome addition for our islanders or not, the new twists went down a storm with fans, with one even calling for producers to get 'a raise.' My husband thought I'd zoned out of our marriage & left the family home… but it was Alzheimer's, says Fiona Phillips

SHE had the dream job, a famous husband and two gorgeous sons – but behind closed doors, TV favourite Fiona Phillips was secretly crumbling. Best known for fronting GMTV for over a decade, the broadcaster was a breakfast telly icon with a glittering career and a huge smile. Advertisement 6 Fiona Phillips has opened up about her ongoing battle with Alzheimer's in a new book Credit: Camera Press 6 The star with Eammon Holmes on GMTV in the Noughties Credit: Rex 6 Fiona with her husband and now carer Martin, in 1998 Credit: Shutterstock Editorial But while she looked every inch the success story, her personal life was marred by tragedy and a devastating diagnosis that she did not see coming. Fiona, 64, revealed she was battling Alzheimer's in 2023 — the same cruel disease that claimed both her parents. The heartbreaking news made headlines, but the truth behind her journey is even more raw and emotional. In her new memoir, Remember When: My Life with Alzheimer's, Fiona lifts the lid on her private pain and the devastating toll it took on her marriage to former editor of ITV's This Morning, Martin Frizell, 65. Advertisement Martin also shares his side of the story in the book, which they wrote together. And he makes the brutally honest admission that he wished his wife had been diagnosed with cancer instead, calling Alzheimer's a 'cruel, drawn-out torture' that has turned their world upside down. Martin has now stepped back from work to care for his wife full-time. 'Left to cope alone' The pair, married for 28 years, have chosen to speak out to raise awareness of dementia, which an estimated 982,000 people live with in the UK. Advertisement Being brutally honest, I wish Fiona had cancer instead. It's a shocking thing to say but at least then she might have had a chance of a cure. Martin They want to highlight that it is not just a condition that affects the elderly, and how the level of care is severely lacking. Martin writes: 'Being brutally honest, I wish Fiona had contracted cancer instead. Fiona Phillips reveals her heartache as she's diagnosed with Alzheimer's 'It's a shocking thing to say, but at least then she might have had a chance of a cure, and certainly would have had a treatment pathway and an array of support and care packages. 'But that's not there for Alzheimer's. Advertisement 'Just like there are no funny or inspiring TikTok videos or fashion shoots with smiling, healthy, in-remission survivors.' He goes on: 'After someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's, they are pretty much left to their own devices. 'There is nothing more that can be done and you are left to cope alone.' Back in January 1997, Fiona felt like the 'luckiest woman alive' when she landed the job of a lifetime as lead presenter on GMTV. Advertisement But behind the scenes, it was pressure-cooker stuff — 4am starts, non-stop stress and a producer 'barking' in her earpiece. At home, life was just as intense. With two young sons, Nathanial and Mackenzie, plus a weekly newspaper column, radio show and endless TV gigs, she was 'running on empty'. Weekends were spent away in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, caring for her mum Amy, who was slowly slipping away due to Alzheimer's and died in 2006. Advertisement Soon after losing his wife, her dad Phil was diagnosed with the same illness. Fiona previously said the drive from London to Wales every other weekend with the two boys strapped in the backseat 'nearly cracked me up'. She left GMTV in December 2008 — reportedly midway through a £1.5million contract, which cost her £500,000 — to spend more time with her family. Fiona admitted back then that the decision was the 'hardest I have ever had to make — like jumping off a cliff and hoping someone will save me halfway down',. Advertisement But she revealed she had 'finally discovered that I can't have it all' and felt like she was 'dropping balls' all over the place. While Fiona finally had more time to dedicate to Martin and the boys, her career never quite recovered. She took on bits and pieces of work — including a stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2005 and presenting a Channel 4 documentary titled Mum, Dad, Alzheimer's and Me in 2009. But Fiona admitted she never felt 'completely right' and became 'disconnected' from her family. Advertisement Meanwhile, she was starting to struggle with mood swings, erratic behaviour and an inability to complete everyday tasks, such as going to the bank. 6 Fiona with her dad Phil, who died in 2012 after battling Alzheimer's Credit: Channel 4 6 Martin said he wished his wife had been diagnosed with cancer, because at least there was hope of a cure for sufferers Credit: Getty Things came to a head with Martin in 2021 and he moved out of the family home, accusing her of 'zoning out' of their marriage. Advertisement After three weeks apart, the couple met at a hotel and agreed they wanted to stay together — but things had to change. Fiona had initially suspected the exhaustion, anxiety and brain fog she had been battling was a side effect of Long Covid. She contracted the virus in 2020. But by then, Fiona was wondering if her symptoms were down to menopause. Martin urged her to talk to telly doctor Dr Louise Newson, who specialised in menopause and recommended a course of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Advertisement But after several months of seeing little change, Dr Newson recommended she was properly assessed. In 2022, a consultant broke the heartbreaking news to the couple that Fiona, then 61, had early onset Alzheimer's. It's something I might have thought I'd get at 80…but I was still only 61. My poor mum was crippled with it, then my dad. It keeps coming back for us. Fiona Fiona had secretly feared that one day it would come for her, too, after it 'decimated' her family. But the news still came as a shock. Advertisement Writing in her book, she recalls: 'Neither of us said a word. 'We sat rigid, locked in suspended animation between everything our lives had been before this moment and everything they would become beyond it.' She previously told the Mirror: 'It's something I might have thought I'd get at 80 . . . but I was still only 61 years old. "My poor mum was crippled with it, then my dad, my grandparents, my uncle. It just keeps coming back for us.' Advertisement Fiona and Martin kept her diagnosis quiet for a year, as she hated the idea of becoming 'an object of gossip or even pity'. 'Horrible secret' Gradually, the couple began to feel they should tell more people, so Fiona would be understood and not judged if she began behaving strangely. Realising the impact she could have by raising awareness of the disease's symptoms, the star decided to go public in July 2023. Fiona characteristically insisted she was 'getting on with it', adding of her illness: 'I'm not taking notice of it. Advertisement 'I'm just doing what I normally do. 'I don't want to not work, be sitting around playing with my fingers or watching telly. 'I just like doing things.' She told the Mirror: 'All over the country, there are people of all different ages whose lives are being affected by it — it's heartbreaking. Advertisement 'I just hope I can help find a cure which might make things better for others in the future . . . it's a horrible bloody secret to divulge.' While there is no cure for Alzheimer's, Fiona is currently taking drugs to slow the illness's progression. She also joined a trial programme for a drug called Miridesap at University College Hospital in London, in a bid to slow the effects of the disease. But Fiona now needs a lot of help with everyday tasks including showering, brushing her teeth and getting dressed. Advertisement Martin said his wife is 'existing', unable to remember 'anything from 30 seconds ago', and she 'can't think about or imagine a future'. At times, she becomes distressed and confused, shouting at him that he isn't her husband. It is something he finds difficult, but understands that the illness has 'taken her mind'. Martin admitted the journey is an exhausting and lonely one, writing that it breaks his heart to see his 'strong, independent wife has become so vulnerable'. Advertisement He adds: 'I'd like to tell you Fiona is content in the situation into which she has been forced. 'I'd like to give readers some sense that she is at peace. 'But that wouldn't be the truth. 'She isn't — she is frustrated every single day. And depressed. Advertisement 'I miss her. I miss my wife.' Love Island Casa Amor boys line-up confirmed and they're all set on the same Islander

Meet the boys entering Love Island's Casa Amor - and they're all fixated on one Islander: Shakira... Casa Amor is back on Love Island and the drama is already heating up. The new boys' line-up has been revealed and all six bombshells have their eyes firmly on one Islander - Shakira. The iconic relationship test kicks off in tonight's episode, promising to shake the villa and push existing couples to their limits with plenty of drama guaranteed. ‌ At the end of Friday night's show, viewers got a sneak peek at the girls heading into Casa Amor - including Harry's ex-girlfriend Emma Munro and a former X Factor contestant. Now, the boys set to enter have been confirmed. ‌ Chris Starting the Casa Amor line-up is Chris, a 29 year old commercial real estate asset manager from Manchester. He is hoping to get to know Shakira but also has his eyes on Emily and Yasmin. He stated: "I'm physically most interested in Shakira, she's had a bit of a rough time so I think I could go in and make a difference for her." "I like Emily and Yasmin as well, Yasmin has quite an interesting personality, we'd be quite funny together. Emily is very attractive and seems to be very sweet personality wise." Chris, who claims to be a massive One Direction fan, cant wait to get into the villa but has said his biggest flaw is he "losses interest" in people quite quickly. Ty ‌ Ty is a 23-year-old sit engineer from Barnsley, just like Chris he's got his eye on Shakira. He claims she needs a 'Northern lad in there' after everything she has been through with Harry. The engineer also feels he is the man who can 'tame' Helena, saying: "Helena is really good looking but she needs taming! I reckon I'm the man for the job." He reckons people will think he's a 'f**kboy' but in reality he says he's an "old school romantic." ‌ Martin Next up is Martin, a university graduate from South London who also has his eye on Shakira. Speaking to ITV before entering the villa he said: "I've got my eyes on Shakira, I've had my eyes on her from the start. For her to blossom, she needs someone who knows what they're doing, not someone who is messing her around." The self proclaimed lover boy believes he is different from the other boy's on the show, and he will bring "more of a mature, relaxed vibe and more honesty into the Villa." ‌ Jamie Jamie is the next Casa boy hoping to find love inside the villa this summer. The electrical engineer has his eyes on three girls - Toni, Yasmin and Shakira - and is "going to take it by the horns and go for it," not letting anything stop him from getting what he wants. The 26 year old from Barking said his game plan for Casa Amor is: "I definitely want to cause some havoc, I'm going to wear my heart on my sleeve and really get to know the girls." ‌ Cach Cash from East London hopes "to make everybody fall in love" with him as he steps into the villa. The 24 year old has his eye on all the girls, but has taken a strong liken towards Shakira, Billykiss and Emily. He works as a professional dancer, but believes he will be the joker of the group, stating: "I think I'm gonna get into trouble, I feel like I'll be the joker of the group! I'll also be the person people come to for advice… and a bit of eye candy at the same time." ‌ Boris Last but not least, joining the Casa Amor line up is Boris a 28 year old model from Lkubljana. Although Bori now lives in Dubai, he reckons he will find his next girlfriend inside the villa. He has his head set on getting to know Shakira saying: "I'm super attracted to Shakira, I think she's got a great personality and seems like a good girl. I'm sure we'd get along well and have a good time together, but I need to see in person, it's all about energy. " Before entering the show, he said watching the villa from TV showed him just how naive the girls are, as Harry is playing them all. He expressed: "I think the girls have been a little naive, Harry is playing with them! I hope they come to their minds and realise what's happening, I can definitely help them with that."
