Cabinet reshuffle on the cards: Maharashtra CM meets Amit Shah, other top BJP leaders in Delhi
The meeting between the two top BJP leaders, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Amit Shah was held in Delhi and lasted for more than 20 minutes.
Fadnavis also met BJP's national president and Union Minister J.P. Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and senior leader Manohar Lal Khattar.
While the details of the meeting were not officially disclosed, sources said that the discussion focused on removing ministers in the Mahayuti government whose performance over the past six months has been unsatisfactory.
Additionally, ministers whose departments have been in the news for corruption may also be dropped. The leadership reportedly wants to send a strong message to ministers who frequently stir controversy.
According to sources, eight ministers from the Mahayuti alliance are likely to be removed. These include, Shiv Sena minister Sanjay Shirsat, whose bedroom video featuring a bag full of cash went viral.
Agriculture Minister and NCP MLA Manikrao Kokate, who was caught on video playing online Junglee Rummy during the monsoon session of the Maharashtra Assembly. He has also repeatedly courted controversy by calling his own government "beggars"
Shiv Sena ministers Sanjay Rathod, Bharat Gogawale, and Yogesh Kadam, NCP Minister Narhari Zirwa and Water Resources Minister and BJP MLA Girish Mahajan
There is also speculation that State Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar, who is reportedly interested in a ministerial role, may be inducted into the cabinet.
In that case, BJP MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar may be appointed as the new Speaker. Responding to the speculation, Narvekar said he would wait for official confirmation and preferred not to comment on media reports. He added that he has performed satisfactorily as Speaker and is ready to take on a new role if the party decides.
Sources stated, 'CM Fadnavis and his team have been evaluating the performance of Mahayuti ministers over the last six months, along with the report cards of each department based on the 100-day action plan. The Chief Minister is keen to send a strong message that he will not tolerate inefficiency or misconduct. He expects seriousness and discipline from his ministers. Currently, the behavior of some ministers is tarnishing the image of the government and creating the impression that Mr. Fadnavis lacks control over his cabinet. A stern message is necessary ahead of the local body elections,' said a senior BJP leader, requesting anonymity.
Meanwhile, regarding reports of NCP Minister Manikrao Kokate's resignation, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that he would speak with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and a decision would be taken accordingly.

GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' programme at a Tripura village turned violent on Sunday, when an alleged group of Tipra Motha Party (TMP) 'goons' attacked BJP workers, leaving at least seven of them injured. The incident occurred at the Taksapara village falling under the Asharambari Assembly constituency in Khowai district. Around 30 BJP workers had assembled at the place to listen to Modi. The injured were admitted to the Khowai district hospital. The condition of two was reportedly critical. About 15 bikes and two cars were also damaged by the attackers. Authorities deployed a large number of security personnel to the place after the incident. No arrest was made when reports last came in.

Six BJP workers injured in alleged TIPRA Motha attack in Tripura
At least six Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers sustained injuries when activists of the Tipra Motha party allegedly attacked a BJP office during the Prime Minister's Mann Ki Baat radio programme at Asharambari in Khowai district on Sunday (July 27, 2025). Tipra Motha leader and Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, who returned from New Delhi on Sunday (July 27, 2025), denied his party's involvement in the incident. Local BJP leaders claimed that over 50 Tipra Motha members, armed with sticks and sharp-cutting weapons, attacked the party's Mandal office and assaulted BJP cadres. Two cars and five motorcycles were reportedly damaged in the attack. The BJP office was also vandalised during the incident. Police said an investigation has been initiated but no arrests have been made so far. Asharambari is a tribal Assembly constituency where the Tipra Motha has a significant presence. BJP State president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Bhattacharjee condemned the incident. Leader of the Opposition and CPI(M) State secretary Jitendra Chowdhury also criticised the Tipra Motha for the alleged attack. Clashes between BJP and Tipra Motha supporters have become frequent in interior areas of the State, particularly over organisational expansion. Several persons were injured in recent clashes in the Charilam and Takarjala areas.

No merger of BRS with any party, asserts KTR
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) ruled out the BRS merging with any political party and said it would remain relevant to Telangana politics till the State exists. 'We have no reason to merge with anyone, and we will remain in public service as long as we have the people's blessings,' he said, arguing that the BRS was the only party that was rooted in the spirit of Telangana. He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of the Bhupalapally district party workers. His assertion came at a time when the BRS is cornered over allegations that there were efforts to merge it with the BJP. This gained credence after BJP MP C.M. Ramesh claimed that KTR personally visited him at his residence with the proposals. 'I have the evidence to prove it,' he claimed. As the BRS workers were caught in a dilemma, KTR categorically dismissed any such possibility and said this was a ploy to play with the sentiments of the party workers. He further said that people were now waiting for the Congress government to go, so that K. Chandrasekhar Rao could lead the State again. Mr. Rama Rao claimed that the Congress government's incompetence had pushed the State into chaos. 'A single wrong vote has pushed Telangana into danger. It is now up to the people to correct that mistake,' he argued, appealing to the Backward Classes, farmers, and women to reject the Congress in the upcoming local body elections. The former Minister said power was never permanent. What mattered was whether the poll promises were kept and history will remember who contributed to Telangana's development. 'Telangana's development and welfare could only continue if KCR returns as Chief Minister.' Further attacking Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for 'betraying' the Backward Classes (BCs) he said the promise of allocating ₹ 20,000 crore per year for BC welfare in the Kamareddy Declaration was not kept. And the Congress has no right to seek their votes.
