Groom's ‘attention-seeking' sister shamed for wearing white to his wedding – then bizarrely claiming it's ‘sage green'

The Sun14-07-2025
A WOMAN has left the internet outraged after claiming her white bridal dress was actually sage green.
Looking at the dress, you would mistake her for the bride, but she was actually the groom's brother's girlfriend.

One gobsmacked wedding guest decided to share pictures of the sister's outfit online to call the sister-in-law out.
In the post, the wedding guest revealed that the dress code was ' summer pastel chic.'
That meant many of the guests came in butter yellow, soft pinks and lilacs.
But one guest took the pale colour-scheme too far when she turned up in an off-white gown.
While she claimed the dress was sage green, many argued it was far too pale to be able to tell.
In the pictures, her dress looked off-white and to top it off, had a very bridal structure to it.
The dress had a sweetheart neckline, off the shoulder sleeves, and a tight corset top decorated with delicate flowers.
The skirt came down to the floor showing a glimpse of her sage green heels.
She was also spotted holding a white veil throughout the wedding.
The Reddit post read: "The dresscode was summer pastel chic, so think Easter colours.
"The gf (girlfriend) of the groom's brother wore a sage green (wedding) dress that in no way, shape or form appeared to be sage green, or any other colour.
"The veil she's carrying was the flower girl's (her daughter)."
Shockingly, it turns out that this was not the first time one of the wedding guests had asked to wear something inappropriate at the wedding.
"This was after the MIL had asked the bride if she could wear a white jumpsuit to the wedding, to which the bride obviously said no," they continued.
The Reddit thread soon went viral and people were furious at the 'attention-seeking' sister.
One person wrote: "Wow, that's very bridal."
Another commented: "Are you joking? I thought the first photo was the bride's dress for comparison. Unless my phone screen is f**ked, I cannot understand how that is remotely green. How rude."
"Is she roleplaying a bride since her bf hasn't married her yet?" penned a third.
Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette
If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble.
Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom.
Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided.
Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream - even if it's not.
Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered.
Wearing white is a massive no-no if you're not the bride.
"Some guests did think that she was jealous because she has kids with the groom's brother but no ring yet," replied the poster.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "Ok that's fully a wedding gown ma'am. Couldn't even let her have one day huh?"

Optical illusion shows 'witchcraft' as people struggle to spot Pokemon character

Optical illusions are made to really baffle the brain and this latest one can leave you questioning everything for a while. So can you spot the Pokemon character? Whether you're testing your eyesight, or wanting to work out how intelligent you are, optical illusions are great and can also go viral for hilarious reasons. Now the latest brainteaser has left many people scratching their heads online. ‌ Reddit users were left utterly confused after some "witchcraft" was shared on the u/opticalillusions forum recently. In the moving picture, it shows a Pokemon character hidden in the colourful pattern which resembles a flame. And the iconic video game character in the photo is actually the dragon. The caption in the Reddit post read: "When you pause the video Charizard disappears." ‌ At first glance, you probably won't realise there's anything in the image, until you really focus on things. ‌ Since it was shared, it garnered hundreds of likes and dozens of comments. One joked: "Yep. I have never been able to see a magic eye image. This is basically witchcraft to me." Another added: "Doing God's work here, for sure. I've never seen anything like this and it's fantastic." ‌ A third commented: "Thank you. This is the first magic eye I have ever been able to make out. Because of your video I knew what to look for." The moving picture is a great example of the Magic Eye optical illusion which works by manipulating a repeating pattern to control the perceived depth and hide a 3D image in a 2D pattern. It was developed in 1991 by engineer Tom Baccei, as well as 3D artist Cheri Smith and programmer Bob Salitsy. Many people might agree the concept is rather mind-boggling and to see one for yourself, you can hold the centre of a painting image right up to your nose. In one case, it should be blurry but you can focus as though you're looking through the image into the distance. Then very slowly move the image away from your face until, for example, the two squares above the image turn into three squares. Magic Eye pictures are a form of autostereograms which create the illusion in the first place.

Eerie ghost town on fringe of Las Vegas thousands flock to every year

Goodsprings, Nevada, is a ghost town located just 30 minutes outside of Las Vegas - and it's proving incredibly popular with tourists, with thousands flocking in each year Located in the middle of nowhere and allegedly haunted, the ghost town of Goodsprings is far from the most obvious tourist destination. ‌ Coupled with its proximity to the dazzling lights of Las Vegas, it would be easy for Goodsprings to be overlooked. But, despite its spooky history and sparse amenities, the town finds itself subject to thousands of visitors every year. ‌ Just half an hour away from the city's bustling strip and vibrant nightlife, life in Goodsprings could not be more different. Home to around 200 residents, this quiet town at the base of the Spring Mountains in the Nevada desert was once a bustling mining hub. ‌ In its heyday in the early 1900s, it housed 800 inhabitants and boasted amenities such as a hospital, hotels and a school - which remarkably still operates today, albeit with only two pupils on its roll. However, as the ore reserves in the Goodsprings mines dwindled, so did its populace. In 1942, the town served as the base for a special search mission following the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of actress Carole Lombard. Her aircraft crashed into Potosi Mountain, and her husband, Hollywood legend Clark Gable, anxiously awaited news at Goodsprings' Pioneer Saloon. ‌ It's said that Gable's cigar burns can still be seen on the Saloon's bar to this day. Consequently, there's a memorial room at the Pioneer honouring its connection to the iconic couple. Today, Goodsprings has a somewhat eerie aura. A drive through the town on its dusty roads evokes a spooky feeling. ‌ Often the subject of folk tales and ghost hunts, Reddit users have shared their experiences of visiting the town. One stated: "When I went to Goodsprings a few years back with my wife, it was completely dead. "No one was outside or driving around, it looked like a wild west ghost town that time had forgotten". Despite its remote location, the owners of the Pioneer Saloon are eager to provide a warm welcome to visitors. Stephen Staats, also known as Old Man Liver, purchased the iconic pub in 2021 and discovered Goodsprings' unique place in pop culture. ‌ The town serves as the starting point for the cult classic video game Fallout: New Vegas, which features the main character revived after being buried alive in Goodsprings cemetery. Many of the game's characters are based on real-life residents, and the Pioneer itself is featured in the game, rebranded as the Prospector Saloon. Recognising the town's popularity, Staats hosted a Fallout-themed event on National Video Game Day, July 8, in 2022. He expected "maybe 100 in a crazy world", but was taken aback when more than a thousand fans showed up. ‌ Since then, it has grown year on year, and following the launch of the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series based off the game, 6,420 people visited Goodsprings in 2024. Fallout fans have praised the town's atmosphere and welcoming spirit on Reddit, with one saying: "The locals love it, and it's kind of their only form of tourism." Another, who visited before Staats took over the Pioneer, said: "They were incredibly friendly and welcoming both times I went, and there's even a marble wall inscribed with the town's residents since it's founding, movies and TV shows that have filmed there, all sorts of stuff." With a second season of the Amazon Prime show greenlit and likely to be set in and around 'New Vegas', Goodsprings could become an unlikely destination to rival the dazzling city that casts its wide shadow over the Nevada desert.
